You're impressed by the generousity of Malaysians but I am impressed by your sense of gratefulness. I love how you showed us the stove and fan and explained to us why you like them in detail. I love how both of you are always so grateful by small everyday occurances. This is something you are teaching to us through your videos. I grew up in Malaysia as a small boy in Ipoh 1972 - 1976 and it still feels like home. I have returned a couple of times and wish I could come back more with my family. Malaysian people are so kind and generous and it fills me with joy to see that some things do not change. The best of luck to you both from a subscriber in Oxfordshire, England.
I wonder how it was like in the 70s in Malaysia…🥹🥹 A lot of places in Malaysia has kept their original since the beginning. Thats why we love discovering Malaysia☺️☺️
@@ichangrm As someone who grew up in Ipoh, I can remember the food more than anything. Chicken and Beef satay from a Satay stall in Canning Garden, prawns so large they seemed like Lobsters to an 8 year old. Beef rendang, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng, Ikan Billis, curry puffs, Gula Malacca, Ice Kachang at Ipoh swimming club. Amazing how memory is affected by food! We lived in a beautiful house in Tambun Drive and had a small boat at Lumut so went to Pangkor Island most weekends and had a curry lunch on the beach. A very privileged childhood but I knew it at the time. When I left and had to go to school in the UK, I was 2 years ahead of my class as Tenby School in Ipoh with my late headmistress Audrey Fong was so good I was streets ahead of my contemporaries in England. Wish it had stayed that way!

Malaysia tourism did a great thing choosing u guys to be our ambassador. I feel love, feel warm, positive from all ur post. Malaysian lets keep our love to each other strong n be happy in our little country
I am a Malaysian living in Hong Kong. It brings me great joy when I watch your videos and I agree with many of your comparisons between Malaysia and HK . Anyway here's wishing you a fresh and blissful start in Malaysia and hope that HK treats you better if you're ever back to visit :)
My mum used that kind of stove in the 70's 🤣🤣🤣 I was living in that kind of apartment when I was growing up. Very retro and brings back a lot of memories. Old apartments are more spacious. KDK was the same brand of fan my father used. Thanks for the memories. Love this video.❤❤❤
what a perfect timing you got here.. Ramadhan it's just around the corner.. visiting pasar ramadhan then celebrating raya in Malaysia.. I'm so excited just to imagine it🥰
Every little thing we have, we learn from you, is to be grateful. Such gentle calming joys your videos seem to be embracing us with. Thanks iChang & Jimmy.
When I watched your video, I found out Malaysia is a great place for everyone to live. However, we do not appreciate and want to fight for more things. Both of you have boldness to leave your industry and come to Malaysia to start a new life. Wish you everything the best in Malaysia.
When I moved to Malaysia 8 years ago, I met neighbors on the first day who invited me to their home for meals and offered their kindness. I was amazed at their hospitality. I don’t live in Malaysia anymore, but my mother is Malaysian and still in Ipoh and I love going there to see the town and experience the life. I would like to return to Malaysia one day as I have also experienced the people’s extraordinary kindness and hospitality. I miss that. Hope you have fun fixing up your new flat and do show us a house tour. Looking forward to seeing your adventures! Xoxo
Glad you found a house/apartment. How you brought yourselves, everywhere you go in Malaysia, you show the food but also how your politeness, courtesy, sweetness and friendliness, touched the hearts of Malaysia. As both of you always brings your two hands together (Japanese gestures) in saying thank you.
As a Landlord myself, I can tell you that your Landlord Lady has done a tremendous job in keeping her apartment clean, tidy and very well maintained, especially that stove. Jimmy is right that stove "cannot get" anymore LOL because it was made in the 80's ( i could be wrong it might either be older or slightly newer late 80's to early 90's). I love that stove too as my Mom used to cook our foods with that stove. Something about that stove's design in using Gas and how those different gas heads provides for different cooking makes that stove really special. Heating food by using the small gas head is best, as it uses gas and gas heats are different from using a microwave or modern stove. I can assure you that your cooking are gonna taste incredible using that badass stove. Anyways, so glad you guys found a place to settle in XD Happy for you guys, and Welcome back to Malaysia! XD
Still can find almost the same like tbat but new material. Might be the window oven not really hard iron like tht nowdays. Old item always come in good material and can lasting for more than 10yrs. Not the same with latest item esp electrical item. It can lasting approximate 3 to 5 yrs only. I still have panasonic rice cooker that i bought in 1997. Still function well. Only the body got rustic.
Welcome to Malaysia and live as a 'Malaysian'... sometimes simple is the real happiness in life... thanks for liking my country and have a great stay in Malaysia. 🥰

I'm so glad you two have finally found a home here to begin your new lives. I figured you could start being creative again once your mind had calmed down. Many of us are delighted to acquire fresh information about our country as a result of your observation. If you require assistance to make your stay enjoyable, I'm confident that many of us can be of service.
Eh, you guys are pretty generous, with all the stuff you made back in Hong Kong for Ramadan and so on, don't sell yourself short ;) Good to hear you found yourself a nice place with good neighbours ^_^
Wonderful to know you finally found a place to stay. Having new friends or fans nearby can make you more welcome. Always stay safe, healthy and enjoy every moment here in Malaysia. Finally a place here you can go shopping for groceries and cook whenever you are hungry. Loved all your videos.

So glad both of you found a place you really like to be called a home. Home is where the heart is, they say. And, many happy cooking moments with that stove! Again, it's humbling to see you always choose a simple and practical lifestyle.
Love to see people loving and romanticising typical Malaysian home! Not many Malaysian appreciate the aesthetic of old homes anymore. Love to watch this type of content!
Dont worry so much la.take it one step at a time, coz here in Malaysia time can be strech as longer as you prefer it ,coz everyday is the same sunshine all year round,it makes you feel lazy and be laid back naturally like we do..so relax and take your time..

Hi iChang and Jimmy. You guys found a home with character because you guys are interesting characters, too. Thanks to the miracle couple who opened the way for you to come upon this unit. You always have a nice way to describe your experience with us. I think you see us as generous because you are most likely kind and generous, too.😊 Anyway, in my opinion, it's okay to relax a little and enjoy your new home for the time being and just show us what you cook in your classic kitchen, etc. Looking forward to more videos from you, be it indoors or jalan-jalan cari makan 🍲🍛😋😋
Congratulation at finding your home in Malaysia. It is okay to feel relax and want to do nothing but rest. I think both of you have been working hard to arrive at this point of life. Have a good and well deserved rest. Look forward to more fun and exciting videos.

Welcome back IChang & Jimmy! So glad to see you both happy and have found this nice apartment. It is indeed a lovely unit, with trees outside your kitchen window and the space you enjoy. I especially loved the part when you both mentioned about Malaysian's are so generous with their time. This is so true! I live in Singapore currently and I could testify the vast difference in this area. I wish you both well, stay safe and may you discover more of this beautiful country that we Malaysians take for granted and complain about so often. Thank you for showing us the beautiful side of her. 😊
When we say Malaysia is like a home for you, it is literally mean a 'home'. Home that you can return and get a rest when you're tired of hectic life. A home that you feel safe to stay. Aren't it is great to have a home that feels home? May you enjoy your day!
So happy to see both of you settling down comfortably. Thanks for sharing this video. Loved the content about being grateful, being kind, being human. ❤

That stove reminds me of my first home with my parents. Nowadays we don’t have that kind of stovetop anymore. 😢 We usually will only use the portable or the small one that only has two burners. It is so nostalgic ❤
Welcome back! So happy to see iChang and Jimmy back at cooking again! Hope to see more content from you guys! Have fun exploring your neighborhood and around Malaysia!
you both are the next level of people! most people in your generation wants everything new, luxury and the best. but you guys are so happy with the most basic and simple living. respect! very thrilled for you guys have finally settled down in the country that you truly in love!

Wow... The atmosphere of your new home is really pleasant, with the sound of birds and roosters crowing, it reminds me of a calm and comfortable village atmosphere.. I will also think the same as Jimmy about sitting relaxed without doing anything all day long.. 😅
It's really interesting that you described the application of the space and materials in old apartment and the materials for the stove as generous. Never thought of it that way. Those things were built to last. And perhaps it is generosity that have make it last for so long.

At first I thought you guys were going to live in Penang since you loved it so much
As far as I know a lot of Japanese lived in Desa Park City, Mount Kiara and Sri Hatamas besides Penang
I must praise the landlord for keeping her apartment neat and in good condition. Even the stove and tiles doesn't age with time.

Congratulations to ichang and Jimmy 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 🎊 👏
the way Ichang shows the stove is so cute. So fangirling like 😂. Btw i also cried when Jimmy talked about how they lived before in Hong Kong
The retro feeling of the unit is so awesome & warm. God bless 🙏
When we say Malaysia is like a home for you, it is literally mean a 'home'. Home that you can return and get a rest when you're tired of hectic life. A home that you feel safe to stay. Aren't it is great to have a home that feels home? May you enjoy your day!

So glad to see iChang happy face!!! Welcome my love ! 🎉✨🤩
That stove reminds me of my first home with my parents. Nowadays we don’t have that kind of stovetop anymore. 😢 We usually will only use the portable or the small one that only has two burners. It is so nostalgic ❤

Welcome home~ 🎉🎉
Yess.... yess....balik kampung di Malaysia 🙋🙋
Wow... The atmosphere of your new home is really pleasant, with the sound of birds and roosters crowing, it reminds me of a calm and comfortable village atmosphere.. I will also think the same as Jimmy about sitting relaxed without doing anything all day long.. 😅
Congratulations to both of you! Hope you both can settle down forever here in Malaysia! :)
It's really interesting that you described the application of the space and materials in old apartment and the materials for the stove as generous. Never thought of it that way. Those things were built to last. And perhaps it is generosity that have make it last for so long.
