What a beautiful array of projects! I no longer am going to let my new starts sit in project bags. Your joy is contagious and I want to share it. Looking forward to your 2025 progress. Happy New Year ❣️
Carolyn, I was CONVINCED that you were an Aries as I am always in awe of how much you get done and how you fearlessly embark on all these new starts!! But Libra is definitely reflected in the beauty of your stitching!! 💖💖💖💖💖 I laughed so hard at that Birds on the Wire design, can't wait to see your progress on it!! 😻😻😻😻😻
Well actually my Moon sign is Aries, and I believe that your Moon sign is how people actually see you - so I guess you’re right!! I’m always at conflict with myself over how to react to things and seeing as Libra and Aries are polar opposites, that makes complete sense 🤣 I really must try and finish that birds on a wire this year because I just know I’ll get a daily giggle out of it. Happy stitching and happy new year 🥳
Such beautiful stitching and variety of projects! You get a lot accomplished! And yes, the grid lines wash out. For me the key is using hot water. I refresh the water to keep the water temperature quite hot to speed the process.
Thank you so much and thank you for replying about the grid lines. Do you have any issues with soaking in hot water? I’ve always only used tepid water as per DMC recommendations.
Hi, I think you will pick up the pace on 'Fairy whispers' this year because you are close to the really colorful part. I know your arms ache, but thanks for holding up your projects for a long minute, and for holding them still so we can enjoy. You are definitely an enabler with all these lovely choices!!
Love your line up, think I am going to do those birds on a wire with you!! Your finishes are so fabulouus! Loved them all. Your going to have a fun 2025.
I love your idea of doing August's birth announcement with cute baby things, but the pattern your daughter chose is perfect for hanging on the wall for life, not just when August is a baby. And, wow! I don't remember how I found and you subscribed, but I'm glad I did. I'm only only in the first 12 minutes of your video and I'm just wowed by your gorgeous work!
Oh you are too sweet - thank you so much! And thank you for subscribing, that means the world to me. You know I had never thought of the birth sampler in that way. Thank you so much for pointing that out, you are absolutely right! I feel so much happier about it now ❤
Always enjoy seeing your beautiful stitching. The grid lines definitely wash out. I use easy grid fabric for anything full coverage. Dimensions stockings are the reason I buy it. As long as your floss is DMC or the floss in Dimensions kits, the floss colors won’t bleed. I just use Dreft liquid soap I have to wash grandkids’ clothes in a sink of water. It takes a few hours for the lines to wash out.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely give that a try. And thank you for mentioning it takes a few hours. It would definitely have made my heart stop after my usual few minutes of washing/rinsing to see the lines still there! Happy stitching and happy New Year 🥳
💜💜💜 great video. Loved seeing your plans video. I have a few of your planned starts in my stash so I’m looking forward to seeing your progress. I have Firefly Fairies and was lucky enough to buy a purpose dyed piece of fabric for it years ago from Stitches and Spice before they stopped dying fabrics. And yes I was able to finish the Aussie flag and will be sharing my finish in my latest update video which will be published today. You’ve made so much progress on your flag in such a short period of time so I’m looking forward to seeing how much you stitch in it in 2025. Happy stitching and happy new year 💜💜
I was very happy to see your flag finish - it’s inspired me to get going again on mine. I’m quite nervous about dying that fabric, but if I follow the directions carefully I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. I think it will really add to the finished piece. Do you have any plans of stitching it one day? Happy stitching and happy new year to you also 🥳
@ I’m sure your fabric will turn out beautifully. I’m thinking this one will be my new year new start for 2026. I’ve had this one kitted up in my stash for around 10 years or so so I think it’s time for it to shine in 2026 - along with finishing my HAED that was started back in 2010.
Love your stitching plans for 2025 and all of your 2024 finishes. I'll be cheering you on as you stitch your way thru your 2025 plans! My only plan is to stitch. I used to makes stitching plans because I didn't ever keep up with them. 🤣. Happy New Year!!
Thank you so much! I’m a planner with everything in my life. If I just leave things to chance I don’t get anything done 😂. I like to plan and it gives me a sense of direction. It’s just the way my brain works. Happy New Year and Happy stitching x
Happy New Year Carolyn your plans for this year sounds very full but you will make great progress on your WIPS and that is awesome. Loved seeing all your finishes, love that little book can't wait to see it all finished. Happy stitching Patty
I loved your long video, Carolyn! Fairy Whispers looks absolutely stunning ❤ I love that you’re starting many projects. I usually only work on two at a time, because I am a slow stitcher and don’t have the amount of time that I would love to have to stitch. The lack of time issue is probably the same for a lot of us 😂 That said, I look forward to seeing how your new plan works out for you! Have a blessed and Happy New Year! 🎉
I love firefly faires, its also in my stash, I saw someone on the L&L facebook group stitch it on natural linen with no bleaching (would not trust myself to bleach the fabric correctly) and it looked so beautiful and all the gold starburst backstitching stood out so well. I plan to stitch it that way in the future too!
Carolyn, I'm so looking forward to watching your progress this year! Your Mira designs look amazing. I like the idea of a 3 day rotation if you aren't a mood stitcher. 😆 Feel free to use the hashtag I started #stitchingfromstash2025 (I posted a video yesterday about it) anytime you stitch on a WIP or anything kitted before 2025. Happy new year and happy stitching!❤
Thank you so much! I’m definitely more of a plan stitcher. I’ll write my stitching plans on a calendar in advance and follow that. Only very occasionally will I alter it. Thank you very much for the hashtag, I’ll make sure to add it to my pencils WIPs. Happy New Year 🥳🥳
Go girl!💖beautiful artworks you've done.☝️🙂I'm having one of those😯oooh! There's a kit I must have moments. The christmas mugs! 💖🤔I'll be saying this one day.As I hope to get that Shannon Christine design.😯☝️"Carolyn made me do it!"☺️🤷♀️😌💖🙂👍😎
Hi Carolyn, I’d like to stitch the signs of Christmas. I saw it on your Instagram altogether. It was by Shannon Christine and I can’t seem to find the framework for it. I did email Shannon Christine on her website and I haven’t gotten a response. I was wondering if you know where I could find that I guess I’ll check back on the comments if you’re able to respond to this or possibly address it in your next floss tube thank you so much for your time. You’ve inspired me with a lot of of of your stitched pieces.

The mermaids are amazing. When you do frame them do you cover it with glass or leave the stitches exposed?
Thank you so much! I always frame with glass for protection. I know some people leave stitches exposed but I worry about dust.
Not sure if you realise, but the UK flag you started on 23rd April, is actually St George's day, he's the patron saint of England. X
Yes I did know that but hadn’t written it down on my notes this time. I made sure all 3 flags were started on relevant days. Happy stitching x
