... that's not exactly how drugs work. mostly, that sort of mixture will simply expose and amplify existing emotions that can be difficult to express completely sober (or outside of therapy or close connection). similar could have been achieved with sleep deprivation and ruminating on trauma.
there's no reason to dismiss anything of their experience or creative process just because they were using those substances. ... there's nothing of that emotional experience that should be diminished. it's still just as real.
if anything, the drugs made it easier for those emotions to be expressed and shared with the world.
... also, must you repeat yourself after every comment with that same opinion, like it's the final truth on the matter? it's not. it's a view that's not well formulated or considered, an it's not especially interesting, insightful or useful towards drawing accurate conclusion.

However, he denied it was about physical or sexual abuse at the hands of his father, and the title and some concepts within the song stem from his parents not believing him. The song caused many to assume that Jonathan's father Rick Davis had molested his son. It is a source of embarrassment for Rick, though his son has gone on the record in many interviews saying it was actually written about a family friend. Jonathan and Rick both decided not to say who the person was.
In an early Kerrang! magazine interview, Davis commented on the song:
"When I was a kid, I was being abused by somebody else and I went to my parents and told them about it, and they thought I was lying and joking around. They never did shit about it. They didn't believe it was happening to their son.... I don't really like to talk about that song. This is as much as I've ever talked about it...."
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Davis stated that he is comfortable performing the song now. Davis has also uploaded a video discussing the song to UA-cam. In the video, he said that the abuser was his babysitter; who had since died."

This emotion he puts in music was what made them back i the day. I think in that era, no one had ever heard this anger inside a song, the sighs of pain, it's unique from Jonathan... They definitely added it in nu metal and then many bands copied them, but I had never seen his singing in studio, this is pretty good artistically talking, but breaks my heart at same time... I feel happy he overcame all of this...
