I downloaded the free trial of Hatch a couple weeks ago. Needless to say I am hooked! For a complete beginner to be able to make complex designs it will be worth every penny
I am so excited to make my hubby 's shirts for work. He works for thr city and I tried to take a picture of the logo and try to use other sites to make it So I can add it to a shirt. It looks like crap. I have the pe500 brother embroidery machine. It is Brand new, and I really don't have the money to pay for the sites to design or to copy one.
This is very helpful! Just curious as to why you needed underlay on all the objects that sit on top of the blue tatami stitches. I would have assumed the blue tatami stitches act as the underlay.
Fabulous as usual! Could you tell me what tatami setting you have for the background? Particularly the offsets; I'm never happy with how smooth mine looks.
I have a question, that's going to sound strange. I understand the order of digitizing when it comes to hats. Let's take this log for example, if i we're doing it as a 10 inch flat, what you suggest as my order of operation.
That’s a question that could turn into a very long answer or video. With digitizing there are foundational rules but, as every design is different the plan will never be the same.
Im new to embroidery, your work is amazing! I have DRAWings xl software Do you have any thoughts on this software? I will be studying alot of your videos!
Mary Kay Long that would just be the filming, it is a circle. The push and pull on the fills are exaggerated put the satin outline is a perfect circle.
Was this made in Hatch digitizer? I've been trying to crash course into digitizing some illustrations for an embroidered production run but I feel like this type of detail is not possible in hatch digitizer. The only software I've seen capable of this type of work is wilcom embroidery studio. I have inquired about about embroidery studio on wilcom's website but have yet to recieve any reply. I wish embroidery studio was as accessible as hatch is, as i believe it's a more capable product.
SORBET PAINTBALL This was done in Hatch, however all the tools used in this design can be found in almost any digitizing program as it was manually done. For corporate/detailed design, I’d go as far to say it more about the experience of the person driving than the make and model of the vehicle. That said, Wilcom is the world leader in digitizing software.
Just a question here. Could you have left out the outline stitches on the eagle - wouldn't that have looked cleaner but still give good detail - interested in your opinion?
@@EmbroideryLegacy I was actually wondering if you could have deleted the outline run stitches around the wings - wouldn't there still be enough detail without them - less stitches overall. Just wondering if those stitches are actually needed? Final design would have less stitches then or are the outline stitches needed for better design registration - I am just trying to clarify things in my mind. Do objects need outline stitches for better registration I guess is what I am trying to figure out?
@@EmbroideryLegacy sir while work on small text on school logos our text out ome is so unclear and unreadable... Could you pls tell me that how these smaller text can be made clean and prominent.. Compensation.. Density and all that.
@@EmbroideryLegacy so a serious question then. If I am just starting out, money is no option, should I buy wilcom hatch digitizer or the designing wilcom product?
If you are just starting out I would suggest Hatch, learning curve is far less, educational resources far more and your digitized designs will has the same quality results as the commercial platform. The biggest part of digitizing is the learning curve that applies regardless of any software brand you purchase, some are just easier platforms and more intuitive to assist in reducing that curve.
With Hatch I have to trick the software to change the default. I turn off all underlay, duplicate the fill, change values of the first one to be my opposite direction underlay and then select both and apply closest join.

John Deer's Embroidery Legacy does it work for MacBook?
Mypenishuge96 Hatch is not native to Mac. Parallels are needed.
this is a gem 💎 I got tired of telling manufacturers my design is too complex. now I can do it myself, thanks john!
How can I do it myself..?
What program should I use.

Great job! Many people don't realize how important the sequence of stitching and push/pull comp are
I have gotten a BUNCH of nuggets from THIS video!! Thanks, John!!
So glad to hear that Nancy :)
Great post of a seasoned professional. Thank you John. As instructive as helpful.

What do you mean by adjusting push and pull? (I’m very new to digitizing)
Hello Embroider Legacy team! I do have a question, do all the elements need to have underlay?
I have been struggling to get my logo embroidered onto hats. Most aren't as experienced as you. Nice work
Master. That’s beyond professional
Thanks for watching!
I wish I knew all that you used for this great work, thanks!
Thanks for watching Jimmy :)
Love the channel. Its been helping me a lot.

love your videos I learn so much. Also have been working on level 2 of the dream course.
The circle looks a bit oval. Is there a rule of thumb as for the height to width for doing perfect circles with lots of fill like this?
Mary Kay Long that would just be the filming, it is a circle. The push and pull on the fills are exaggerated put the satin outline is a perfect circle.

May i aske you something ? How much density we need to use for large areas, something like 150mm x 70mm ?
may I know the name of the software?
Just a question here. Could you have left out the outline stitches on the eagle - wouldn't that have looked cleaner but still give good detail - interested in your opinion?
Gail Hardock given the size I limited the detail to reduce hard stitches. Just a judgment call :)

Solid 2ish hours.
From start to finish approximately how long did it take you to do the complete digitizing?
Just under 2hrs.

How can i change the angle of the tatami underlay in hatch?
Select the object and then hit the “H” key.
