Fun thing: I completely forgot I knew this this song. But once the vocals hit... I immediateIy recognized it, along with memories of the video. I was born in 1984, so this was all over MTV when I was a kid. I now realise that Siobhan Fahey was one of my earliest goth crushes XD
Same. I couldn't figure it out. After watching the Insidious movie I was wracking my brain, then my daughter looked it up. I'm a huge fan of Bananarama and it hit me, yup Shakespeare sister. Yeah what a great voice Patrick Wilson is amazing..Josh 100%
Welcome to our family. You know if you have Ghost you have everything ❤️. Tobias comes from growing up in the 80s and 90:s and he's not only a metalhead instead as many of us growing up back then he loves everything from ABBA to Slayer. He has had bands before Ghost that played Death/Black Metal and he was the singer in a popband for a while. This is why he's so versatile and it's reflects in his music. The more you listen the more you will understand that Ghost never does the same things twice and you will dig songs like Spillway as much as Con Clavi Con Dio.
This cover of "Stay" gives me the chills in a good way. I bought the song on Itunes last night & have it on repeat. Insidious: The Red Door is a great movie as well, if anyone is into horror movies.
Absolute killer jam! The harmonies sealed the deal for me, I agree it’s a very haunting song that fit the movie perfectly. The reaction you had when Tobias came in was exactly what I pictured my face looked like also. Great video!
I may actually watch the Insidious movies thanks to this one song. Lol Ghost does some really amazing covers, as well. Something about the albums - each has its own theme and sound, but generally the further back you go in their discography, the more overtly satanic the content (though it's a schtick, they aren't actual satanists). Some like to describe it as ScoobyDoom. Can't wait for the next Ghost reaction! 🤘
After watching Insidious the song came on and i seriously couldn't remember where i heard this song. Im a 80's person lol. However Patrick Wilson is amazing period. Love this song , love the movie. ❤ is there anything Patrick Wilson can't do. Ghost is great...love the Shakespeare Sister version and Bananarama. God bless
this is a cover of female duo Shakespeare's sister the original video is a women (melcella detriot, patrick wilson sings her part in this verson) caring for her dying man while death appears (Siobhan Fahey, sung by tobias in this version) and they fight for his soul
@@hmfrias People have been critical of the movie but maybe they just expected it to be more scary than it is. It's most certainly one of the best horror movies I've seen in ages and I'll remember the scene with the song for a long time. It's hard to move me but that most certainly did, I have no idea it was coming either.
@@hmfrias Absolutely, it was great writing where the whole story culminates into the restored bond of the father willing to do anything for his son and that great conflict of hidden memories of possessed dad working away to break that bond. Everything has a reason and they took their time to tell it.
you can’t compare. the original was a product of its era. this however is a beautiful tribute. Both Patrick & Ghost have great respect for Shakespeare’s Sister ua-cam.com/video/_eXw47qb4U0/v-deo.html
Not true at all. In fact, Wilson said Tobias “would really be down for you doing the first two verses, and then he comes in like, basically, the devil’s presence.” And Wilson does the high section at the end. Now, there IS a version of the song where Tobias does the entire track himself, but that is only available via the expanded edition set he released on vinyl. (But you can find it uploaded to UA-cam by many a fan).
One thing I know Patrick Wilson did sing in was The Phantom of the Opera, pretty cool there.
He was a Broadway star previously. He's won some Tony's
He was Raul in the movie adaptation.

i wouldsay IMO siobhan was more pop than goth due to bananarama but she looks sexy as hell as death in the original video for stay

Love, love, love this song! ❤ The vocals blend so well, very haunting! And what a great review!😀
Thank you so much!!
I loved the original song- you should definitely check it out! This version did it so much justice.
In the movie it was so moving, it was a real moment. I did love the movie, very emotional like the earliest ones. The song weirdly fits so well.
I couldn’t agree more

@@Iflie we’re on the same page. for me it was like a horror love letter between a father and his family. this was a project with heart

I fucking bawled listening to this one. My husband and I had an argument and this came up on my playlist
They need to do a live action video with Siobhan Fahey, Marcella Detroit(Shakespeare Sister) and Patrick Wilson
Love it!!! Much better than the original song!❤

@@jessflix80 you welcome:)
Wow...such a pretty song! When Tobias came in there was a joyous look on your face...and mine! 😃
Other way round. Tobias starts, Wilson is at the end.

ua-cam.com/video/_h2JimMRVlQ/v-deo.html that he didn't get charged for the track
To be clear, Tobias sings the early vocals, and mod section, Wilson comes in at the end.

Dance Macabre. Or Life Eternal.
