Hey again, Wayne. I've just discovered that UA-cam didn't do its job by making sure your videos were in my list. I've missed so many, mate. I'm catching up and looking at the way these are designed so I can get ideas for my povo build. I've got a view very short, very amateur videos up showing some of the early stuff getting the V6 reliable for a long drive away from civilisation. I'll document the build on the back where I'll sleep above my tools and genset etc. Solar will be down the track but I have a large aluminium roof rack that will go over the twin cab and bonnet, supported by bash bars to support 300 watts of solar panel hopefully. It won't be a beauty queen, but hopefully it will serve my needs. It better, because it'll be my 'rest of days' home.
Ive looked at a lot of reviews of this unit, I dont know why the door cant go downward & become the stairs like a small jet? Wouldnt get in the way & also allow for a spare on the back?
Good walk through, thanks, have got the same one on order, I'm thinking those water taps look very prone to getting damaged hanging out the sides, your thoughts?
@@SlideOnCampingAustralia How does the DMAX ride when the camper is not on the back after the GVM upgrade and did you do anything special to make it ride better without the camper?
Agree. They are pricey but my last one I sold after 12 months and completely go my money back. So for the year it cost me zero. So the $ need to be looked at from resale also.
These Tommy Campers are amazing. I have to check one out in person.
Yep I agree. Love mine

I agree. Gets down to the type of landscape you will be taking it. General overlanding it should be okay
Thanks for watching.
Do most vehicles need a suspension upgrade to carry these campers?
Yes is the short answer. If you were never going to leave the bitumen you may get away with standard suspension.
How does the DMAX go with it on the back up hills etc?
Great. Should have a bit of a review in the next few weeks about the Dmax.
@@SlideOnCampingAustralia How is the fridge at night much noise?
@@gavinpitcher8630 not at all. It’s a great fridge.
@@SlideOnCampingAustralia How does the DMAX ride when the camper is not on the back after the GVM upgrade and did you do anything special to make it ride better without the camper?
@@gavinpitcher8630 without the camper it’s definitely a harder ride. Unfortunately you can’t really have it both ways.
What’s the weight of either of them ?
Empty the S4 is 320kg

Probably the best set ups but price according 🥲
