Hi Mr Hegerty, I know this video was aimed at students some time ago, however I have just watched it for a bit of advice and inspiration. I have just sat my first math exam for my foundation GCSE. I am returning at the age of 29 to retake it, hoping I will get at least a grade 4 so I can go on to train to become a teacher in September. Everything is riding on this maths GCSE. I have put so much work in over the past 5 months. I have practised and revised near enough every day. I found the exam this morning very hard. Compared to all the mocs I have done there were many more questions (32 as apposed to 24 I think), and so I felt like I had no time to think properly and that I had to just wizz through everything as fast as I could to attemp each question. Because of this I don't feel confident in my work. Do you think the garde boundries will be lower this year if the exams are harder? have you had any other feedback regarding how other people felt about the exam? There also seemed to be lots of 1 and 2 mark questions that required so much working out. Can I really still get the mark I need if I have done badly in this exam? I have 2 weeks now before my next calulator paper. Do you think the calulator will be easier? Do you think I should just get straight back into it with practise questions every day? Sorry for the huge message! Your videos have been so helpful and you are an amazing teacher! x
Hi Mr Hegarty (Don't know what to call you). I used your tips from your previous video about paper 1 and I found them really helpful. I took my time on each question and checked my answers and showed working on questions I wasn't sure of. Thank you. And keep up what you are doing

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really, really needed this! I am in Set 1, predicted A* (normally get around 85 on non calc, and 90s on Calculator) and I did HORRIBLY! I think I may have gotten around 65-70 marks (stupidly misread the pythagoras and cone question) and messed up the surds page, not to mention Hannah's sweets, and LOADS of little mistakes here and there.... (even on the first page!) and needless to say I am VERY disappointed in myself, The only way I can truly get my A* is by getting 90-100 marks on Monday. This has motivated me, and I Love your channel! Thank you!
Me too!! I hoping for that A* but got around 60-69 I've got to work hard in the weekend but even if I get like 90 that still won't be an A* right? Ahhh

THE EXAM WAS SO HARD I think I only got 30 marks and I'm aiming for a B so I need at least 60 marks on Monday! I've failed!! Thanks for your support though hegarty, most of the questions in the paper we hadn't even been taught! Nd apparently some of the questions were 2nd year A - level. ..

I've voted Mr Hegarty thanks for your support!! I wanted to ask I did horrible in that paper 1 and was still wondering can I get an a* if I got around the 60s? Ahh I so scared because I won't be able to the A* I wanted!
PrincessK_09 You are so very welcome. The grade boundaries could be lower - aim for high 80s or 90 in paper 2 and you could still do it. Hi Mr Hegarty, Thanks for your help with all the maths tutorials - you have been very helpful. I have just voted for you and I hope you win the Virgin competition as you have inspired me and probably many other students around the country. I would just like to ask what you thought of the 2015 non-calculator Edexcel paper. Did you think it was easier/harder than last year or previous years? After checking out an unofficial mark scheme I think I achieved 79-84 (lets just say most likely 81 or 82). What would this equate to when judging previous grade boundaries. In order to get a secure A* what should I aim for in this calculator paper? - Also, the grain question managed to surprise me and a few others. That question was one of the 'questions you couldn't really prepare for' just incase another question like this comes up in the calculator is there anything I can do to prepare for it? Also, keep on doing what you're doing!
D JM If you got what you say you are going very well. The highest an A* has ever been is about 170 so that would mean you need 88 marks. But I don't reckon A* will be 170 this year and likely to be lower. Lowest it's ever been is 160 ish. Focus now on Monday. Best wishes and get your parents to vote for a chance to win £10k :-) www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk/pitch-to-rich/start-up/hegartymaths/
HEY AGAIN MR. HEGARTY! could you recap everything on paper 2 for higher ready for Monday! P.S I voted for you! :)

Tbh I think I may be lucky to have pulled about 30 marks from paper 1. However, I've been working like a mad man for paper 2, if I got like 40-50 marks would it be enough for a C? Anyone have a rough idea for the pass mark? Thankyou!
***** Fe, hopefully this time the majority of things that I have revised come up... done quite a lot on volume, surface area and circles etc... anyways good luck pal!
***** Hopefully for a C it is quite low between 50 and 60 so it's easier for us...If all goss well tomorrow I stand a good chance and same here I certainly don't want to be dojng it at college! Good luck to you! :)
On one of hegarty maths videos he showed us a method about multiplying the number that is squared by the last number then finding 2 factors which added to find the x number that's how I did it

I'm guessing this list isn't for the foundation paper, only higher? It just has higher paper topics in there.

Last minute maths revision
i remember watching this ages ago
why is this monetized?
Hi Mr Hegarty,
Thanks for your help with all the maths tutorials - you have been very helpful.
I can't find the perfect resource for revision and I wondered if you could put together a quick video covering over every possibility in the paper it would help me and others around the world! P.S I voted for you! :)
Look for Mr M's 2015 mock paper in the student room
6 hours a day in a prison labor camp sounds better than 6 hours of math
Can you like show how to solve simultaneous equations with details and examples? I didn't get other people's tutorials.
According to student's room, for the first paper i got 96/100
What did Superman get ?
Iron Man cool.at the end of the test i counted up the marks i think i got and it was only like 20.can you send me the link to the page on the student room where you found out the marks?

Tbh I think I may be lucky to have pulled about 30 marks from paper 1. However, I've been working like a mad man for paper 2, if I got like 40-50 marks would it be enough for a C? Anyone have a rough idea for the pass mark? Thankyou!
***** Fair enough, just gotta make sure I get about 40 on this paper... :/
***** Fe, hopefully this time the majority of things that I have revised come up... done quite a lot on volume, surface area and circles etc... anyways good luck pal!
Shrektacular I calculated that i got at least 30 marks on paper one aswell, good luck guys! God knows i don't want to be doing maths next year..
***** Hopefully for a C it is quite low between 50 and 60 so it's easier for us...If all goss well tomorrow I stand a good chance and same here I certainly don't want to be dojng it at college! Good luck to you! :)
The exam went good!

What about AQA?
How did you find the first paper
Not too bad, bits of it were tricky, that last question got me! You?
You can probably get everything you need from the website.
On one of hegarty maths videos he showed us a method about multiplying the number that is squared by the last number then finding 2 factors which added to find the x number that's how I did it
