Great video Mr H. Some brilliant points. Great bit about starting now and not getting caught up in what you should have done. So many students (and others in different areas of life) get hung up on the past and allow it to demotivate them. Get started on practising now everyone....one week really can make a difference!

Thank you for this! I've been using your math videos for revision and they've been very helpful! Also, I've been procrastinating on doing math practices, because I'm so bad at it. But thankfully, this reminded me that at least I still have 5 months before my A levels to make a difference! Cheers :)

Thank you, Mr. C.H.! I live in India, and honestly have no idea what GCSE's are, but this is certain: after 2 years of trying to score with teachers who I barely understand, you have boosted my morale. I've got 17 days to go before my first Year 12 exam, and I'm gonna give it my best shot.
*Thanks also for the tip on getting up early. I've been told to do so 100's of times but never so any good reason to do so. I do know.

First of all thank you for all these inspirational videos. Secondly how do you record them? I am doing maths videos to help people and I make them on powerpoint and then use screen-o-share to record. It is not very good and I would love it if you had anything you would recommend.
Very helpful - although even though I am an A star student, I have never done 6 hours revision a day - I tried to and got a migraine 😁 I get atleast 2/3 hours a day with a maximum of 4. I'd rather do a solid 4 hour revision period where I take in everything, rather than doing 6 hours as I personally find that too difficult and a bit unnecessary
***** Fair play mate. You got to do what works for you. But when you are working in the future you're going to perhaps have to do 12 hour days. But at this stage do what you think is best for you - best wishes. Mr H
Exactly! For A level I am sure I will up the time to 6 hours a day. Thank you for being such great help with maths - i plan to do maths and further maths at A level :)

I worked hard all my life. For my this exam I practised a lot I done all AQA foundation and higher past papers from 2010- 2014. all practice books. I saw all you videos. I watch maths watch many times I solve minimum 10 maths problems per day. I think exam time is not enough. At least 10 minutes more for checking will be fair.

Hi Mr Hegarty, I've been really struggling with D1 revision and was wondering if you had completed it so I can start using your videos? I've been using live maths but it's really not helpful for me, I'm been trying to understand the topic 'flows' but haven't come across that on your website, so was wondering if you had finished the course.. Hi. Great video really. I had exam today, even my teachers and everyone say to me I am an A* student, I got panic today, I did silly mistakes, because 3 days I didn't sleep and revise I was totally tired and exhausted. I join one year classes just to archives A* and above which I already have from abroad, but now I will not going to be fail and not going to achieve the garden which I deserve. So please have a rest before your exam. Brain must be fresh before exam. So please, please try to be fit in exam. I am very disappointed because Maths is for me very important. Wish you good luck.

I think i can do most of that but eating healthily and waking up early may be difficult for me but apparently chocolate improves your maths skills and also staying up late is a common trait found in geniuses so i should be okay :)

The worse thing about GCSE exam is that, if you achieve B they didn't give you second chance or maybe yes, I don't know because I am new in this country. So have a rest at least one day before your exam. The examiners don't know you. They see the paper. Poor me.

1 hour and 30 minute is not enough ( in non calculated paper) especially for the students whose first language is not English. At least 1 hour and 45 will be all right because no time for checking. It make us panic. What do you think?

I'm doing the new GCSE Maths next year and my teacher has predicted me a 9. I don't know how to prepare for the exams though. I have done all of the sample and specimen papers and any other questions that I could find. How else can I prepare? (I am on Edexcel if that matters)
You're predicted a 9? :o that's really good, I'm predicted a 5 xD but want to get a 7, I honestly have no idea what I need to be revising either ! I'm currently jotting down all the topics in a book so when I know what I need to revise I can look over them instead of having to re learn.
Predictions don't really count for much I think. All they do is show how much a teacher believes in a student (that doesn't get them their GCSEs). I think that we should look over the old GCSE topics and do things like iteration (previous a level topic).
Aqib Asif Yeah that's a good idea. Right now I'm going through a past exam paper and finding things I struggled with, And now I'm learning how to do the thing I'm struggling with and just making notes. Eventually I'll ask my teacher what I should be revising for the GCSE'S and just revise them topics :D
