What would I do if there's two similar rectangles , and I need to find the area of the smaller one but the only information given is that the longest side of the smaller and the shorter side of the larger rectangle is 4 and then the longest side of the big one plus the shortest side of the small one is 10? I know that confusing but if anyone has any answers I'd appreciate it a lot xx

blue water If you have a recurring decimal, it's easier to leave it as a fraction because you don't have to deal with a really long number. Another reason is so that you don't consider rounding the number, as that would result in a wrong answer.

Wow this really helped
THANKYOUUUU!!!!!!!!!
For the triangle one, don't you have to divide the ASF by two because it's a triangle.
The area of a triangle is (length x Width) / 2
what do you do if it gives you the volume of both shapes first and you have to find their scale factor?
We know that the volume is measured in cubes, so if we take the cube root of the volume we get the original scale factor.
What would I do if there's two similar rectangles , and I need to find the area of the smaller one but the only information given is that the longest side of the smaller and the shorter side of the larger rectangle is 4 and then the longest side of the big one plus the shortest side of the small one is 10? what if your not given any lengths, just the area/ volume?
u would have to reverse i and go backwards and use sqaure roots to find the LSF
got my math igcse coming in a few days. totally not ready -_-
Lifesaver
i like your videos
what is the reason for not changing the fraction into decimal when finding LSF?
blue water If you have a recurring decimal, it's easier to leave it as a fraction because you don't have to deal with a really long number. Another reason is so that you don't consider rounding the number, as that would result in a wrong answer.
Thank you! :) This was a very helpful video, is this topic more likely to come up on the calculator paper?
Hello Sir where could i download these practise papers?

Great video! How do I download that calculator on an iPad pro???
