I’m fairly new to have a rope runner and had the same initial problems but a few climbs on different settings and it’s butter smooth. I have mine on setting 4 but I have a thinner rope - I use the Courant Squir. I’m sure you’ll love it once it’s dialled in.

And now getting harder to pull the slack in... Please let me know how it worked for you? Ordering New rope to try it again in less friction setting I weight 91kg /14 st

Sooo, yeah in my case I got the Protos Integral climber. This is just the shell. After that I got a good deal on some 3m muffs and clips and then the visor and it turned out so much cheaper them buying a full set with the Protos muffs that I would want to replace anyway as they aren't chipped specced hearing protection
To all that own the roperunner ????is it better than akimbo and or unicender???don't want to get it and be upset.have heard different reviews saying they dint Like it.i got the hitchhiker xf new from Richard Mumford. Very slim setup and no change over or pins .comes with 4 pursick s and different attachment options ..can't understand why guys don't use it..the pursick cord comes by the foot .and is ideal .can use any kind u like ..9.3 epicord is best I've found on all ropes thar and hrc cord love that stuf
Also surely now your subby climbing you wont be on two lines, think you’ll find no one outside of the big companys climb on two lines. Suppose completely up to you but just my opinion
I think it will depend on my clients and what's expected of me. If they are complying with their insurance in every way they may want me on two but who knows. It sure does give me a lot of freedom to do as I please
Nothing wrong with 2 but you shouldn't have to have anyone telling you to.i would say here's 2 ropes show me then?..this is hard work dictator ship is not good
I used to run the same climbing line used to be too bouncy switched to courant squir and its now super smooth
I'll have to consider this. Maybe the squir or xstatic would have been interesting to use
Do you drt on it with the squir sometimes? No splices sold with the squir it seems
@@TPOTTS_TREESyeh use it on double rope with my RRP, it works a treat. Normally just DRT up to my anchor then go to SRT to work the tree
Try yale focus and bluemoon. I use them on akimbo. I'm 162 pounds I think .works buttery

Maybe a thinner rope would have been better for me being so light 🤔 I do like the drenaline as it's a good drt/srt rope
If you like drenaline go for x static? Using both id say Squir is the better option
I use the drenaline for drt with my zigzag and love it but found it a bit bouncy on srt although I’m a fairly big boy for a climber at 14 stone ;)

Thanks for the vid! Turn your top pin around in the opposite direction. Makes it much more comfy...
Do you mean put the top pin in from the other side ?
@@TPOTTS_TREES Yes! Especially if you're right handed...

Also chest harness with Xsre biner or neck tether makes for unparalleled ascent
Point the top pin the other way so it's not all turning in your hand when descending.
I will do ❤️
How are you getting on with the rope runner now some time has passed since this video? I'm seriously contemplating one but keep hesitating.
@@thegreenrevival4424 what do you use to climb with at the moment? Are you using srt already and do you climb lots of taller trees often
Brand new rope will give more friction, remember to readjust as it smooths out and wears. Also order some DMSO spray for your aches and pains
What is the spray??

Maybe try a more static rope for your weight. Xstatic maybe. You may be stretching the line out too much

Yes, a new punk colour :)
Does water matter with those ropes...like if they get absolutely drenched in a downpour while you're working?
