"No matter how well-sealed the equipment is, how do you risk getting them wet like that? You are a great inspiration, great work. I would give anything to have a Sony camera."
Your ability to capture raw and authentic moments in the streets is something I truly admire. Your work is an inspiration to all aspiring photographers.
I'm always amazed by how easy going people in different countries are around cameras. Over here everyone would either be staring at you or avoiding you. In some areas you would be asked to leave.
I personally only like street photography where people are caught from behind or no people at all. I just don't like strangers taking pics of me so I try to not take pics of them either unless it's a subject I want to shoot that has a lot of people around it. I like this video but I'd tell him to delete the pics if he just straight up took pics of me.
This is exactly the kind of video I look for when researching cameras! Or even just to satisfyingly watch! Super cool live action footage as well as displays of before & after presets 👏 The intro really pulled me in!
Since when using a preset is a ethics 😂😂.....any photos can fit to any preset, is the name of the preset wasnt hongkong you also might use it. For example like night contrast or something 😅
I love your videos Pierre! You're a really good inspiration as a photographer! I actually am starting to learn more about photography and street photography specially!
I have the same sent up I just got them together two weeks ago but haven’t had time to go out and play with them yet and only got the one lens for the camera so far but looking at getting the 200-600mm next and then get a smaller lens after

Hey, I always have the urge to buy the 70-200mm 2.8 ii whenever you take it out for street photos. Would you still recommend the mark 1 version of the lens??
70200GM2 is just 1kg and Mark 1 is around 1.5kg ... that alone is priceless esp shooting street (walking around with a lighter lens is a plus). Also the AF is lightning faster and more accurate.
Hey Pierre! I love your videos they're always so relaxing to watch! I was wondering what experience you've had with film cameras and shooting street photography with a film camera. I'm trying to get into photography and I'm getting an AE-1 soon, and I was wondering if you had any tips? (Or if you have any videos already out that you'd recommend)
What does the presets mean are thay something you do on your camera or in editing? Also how does your camera focus so fast it takes me 30 seconds or more to focus mine. And how is your Shutter speed so fast?
Pierre... You are very gifted at your craft sir and put out some very nice work. I see that Sony is your preferred brand and that you have a pretty good handle on your machine. Would you be willing to put out a video on the setup of the a7R V? Would be great to learn how you set up your system. Thanks in advance.
Hey Pierre! I know that you will probably never answer me, but i'll give it a try. I discovered you just half an hour ago, and i already like your videos! I've never had a real camera in my life. Well of course the phone camera's and digital camera's, but never such big ones. I would really like to start to be a photographer, but i have no experience and knowledge about this topic. Could you recommend me a beginner camera with a maximum price of 400€? Maybe recommend some lenses? Portrait, wide shot's, close up's. Since i watched the first video half an hour ago, my mood for photography was getting very high. :D I know it is not so easy to do so beautiful shot's like you, but i am ready to learn, to get better day by day. I would be very happy if you could answer me. I'll definitely keep watching your videos, because you are already an insperation to me. Stay healthy, safe and keep up the good work! Why is the 70-200mm lens white ? It looks kinda weird paired with a black camera, I don't understand why the manufacturers make specific lenses white...
@@Pierretlambert Is it risky shooting with expensive cameras like the R5 or A7RV in the rain ? My camera sadly isn't waterproof but I would really like to shoot in the rain... What are your experiences with shooting in the rain ? Did you encounter any problems ?
Incredible video. Can you talk about your POV settings? I think you use a GoPro but I'm not seeing the hyper smooth jitter that a lot of POVs exhibit, especially at night. Would love to know how you accomplish that. Cheers
Cont af. Subject reconition on. Human. You can use wide af area or tracking or any. As long at first the af got the person. The green square will follow the person as you move the camera with the person.
@@Pierretlambert the 35-150 is really awesome. I thought I'd miss the 150-200 range, but with the A7IV, you can just crop in your image to create a similar framing. And getting that 35mm f2 without having to swap lenses is AMAZING! I would highly recommend trying it. Rent one if you're not sure!
A question i have wondered too. Some Sony cameras are somewhat weather sealed and lenses with rubber gasket do help against rainy conditions but it's never 100%. Using camera out in the rain like that 100% has long term effects. Not that i'm a professional but if the humidity gets inside the camera body, it would do some internal damage. So if i was him, i would just sell the camera while it sells good and buy new one. Also any weather sealing these companies claim to have, are with card slots etc closed :/ That's what i read somewhere.
So, I shoot with the 70-200 f/2.8 just as you have there, but I noticed multiple times you were one-handing the camera by the body and not the lens... can the FE mount handle that without damage?
Love ❤️ seeing your photography skills and your efforts you put to take pictures. However, what do you do if someone in your picture raises a concern by asking you to remove his or her photo in the video? Because of you not taking consent from them.
Check the laws in the area you're in. In the US and Canada it is perfectly legal to take pictures in public spaces and nobody can compel you to stop or to delete them.
I use two A7R3. I know that Sony's cameras can withstand extreme cold and heat without a problem (I tried) but I would never try using them under heavy rain. I very often get dust on the sensors and I suspect it's because of a poor sealing between the lens and the body. So I my opinion if dust can enter easily so could water. I would probably not mind doing this with an Olympus camera but certainly not with a Sony. It's also something I would never try with a zoom lens if the zoom is not internal.
the sealing between lens and body depends on the type of lens: lenses like g-master series from sony have a rubber gasket around the metal mount for 100% sealing (the pressure between metal and rubber keeps everything out)
I suspect most of the dust came from changing lenses outside. The lenses and the mount are decently water resistant and I've used them outside extensively. The only concern is that A9 and A7R3 do not have a sealed card door, so the body itself is very susceptible to water. I believe the next generation of Sony bodies are more sealed, so it's no longer a real concern.

Gold mine! Excellent work!
Nice Reflection👍👍
Rain and Tokyo go together like peanut butter and jelly. It just... makes sense.
I’m not sure about the ethics of using a “Hong Kong” preset in Tokyo. 😂

Looks a lot like shinjuku, so the Shinjuku preset was very at home at least 😂
