Tyr always has such catchy lyrics. These are especially great. They put most native English speakers to shame with these songs. Fuck, I love this band.
I was reading through some comments on here about religion and I just had to add my 2 cents. I was raised Christian and then I grew up and realized I could choose which fairy tales to believe. Die hard Christians should really take a long, hard look at their own history. The Romans saw an opportunity to use religion to control the masses and here we are 2000 years later still believing (some of us) in all the same BS. You do all realize that every single Christian holy day is a bastardization of a pagan ritual, right? Jesus was 'miracuously" born during Yule, the period of time around the winter solstice celebrating the rebirth of the sun. Or was it just a convenient way to get more people to convert? Then, Jesus goes and dies and is "resurrected" in the spring around the Vernal Equinox when pagans celebrated the resurrection of life in general after a long, difficult winter. How about All Saints Day? Or, as ancient peoples referred to it, Samhain, the time of harvest and the onset of winter. Don't you see it's all been a mirage to obtain, and maintain, power? How else do you keep millions, and now billions, of people in check? Tap into their deepest, darkest fears about life and death and promise them eternity if they behave. In all honesty, I don't care if you are Christian or Jewish or Hindu or Islamic. Believe what you want. That is one right everyone should have. Just never, ever tell me what I should, or shouldn't believe, and we'll all live happily ever after.
I'm American and I was always attracted to non-american metal long before Skyrim came out. Sure not all metal bands I listen to sing in English (ex. Rammstein and Tanzwut), but I'm more attracted to the melody that American metal can hardly imitate.
The norse would never be forgotten, their influence are a part of so many things. Thor, Lord of the rings, ( see rohan, elves, the languages, trolls etc), beowulf etc etc etc. They might not accurately depict norse culture but skyrim doesn't either.. The only way to witness norse culture is to travel or read.
I always interpret "just take me to Valhalla" as a challenge. One got into Valhalla by dying in battle, so telling christians to "just take me to Valhalla" is daring them to fight. That's just my interpretation.

Faith has more than one meaning. It can just mean complete trust or confidence (this causes arguments and confusion when arguing with believers, but that doesn't mean the definition is wrong). Although science is fallible, it still makes sense to trust the results of science more than anything else, so "faith in science" can be correct. I'm not necessarily saying the above poster holds that position, but the principle of charity is important.
I've just Googled it, and the first few sites all stated that it meant "Scandinavian." I would guess that it was originally the same as "North," and was changed at a later date. There's also the possibility that it did originally mean "from Norway" and was generalized to all of Scandinavia at a later date as well.
The actual definition of faith is "Complete trust or confidence in someone or something" so I am pretty sure that scientists to operate on terms such as faith...just because most of the time the word faith is used to refer to religion doesn't mean that is its only (or even main) definition.
Your god was nailed to a cross, My god promised to eradicate Ice Giants from the lands and gave his eye for knowledge. Do you see any Ice Giants? No, But you do see knowledge.

The growls in cannibal corpse aren't too bad. What I can't stand is that slam deathcore "BREE BREE BREE BREE" shit.
Many songs have been written about Valhalla, to me this is the Ultimate Song!
Nope, Blind Guardian is superior.
Aquila Hunter you got me there! your not wrong, well both are great songs from great bands, Guardian are excellent also!
