Access to therapy for bdd seems very scarce (especially if you live in the north) and limited to people who have money. 42 year old male suffered for 30 years.

Hi Seth, we're sorry to hear that. Private therapy certainly isn't an option for everyone, but it can be a route for support if the NHS waiting lists are too long (for example). We have a number of therapists who specialise in BDD located throughout the North and Midlands, though many also work online. Often, therapists will have concessions or reduced rates in place for those who are struggling - if this is something you want to consider, we recommend asking these questions during the initial communication: www.counselling-directory.org.uk/service/body-dysmorphic-disorder.html
      Thanks, Seth. Best of luck.

Can I just ask what type of therapy you or your son provides, and your son had please? It seems to be that CBT is the therapy suggested but I am currently studying humanistic therapies so wonder what a humanistic therapist might be able to offer.

Hi @emieden1919 we'd recommend contacting Jennie directly via the link in the video description. If you'd like to get in touch with a humanistic therapist to see what they might be able to offer, you can filter by humanistic therapists in your area or online using our search tool here: www.counselling-directory.org.uk/adv-search.html
We hope this helps! Best of luck
