@@supahdupah207 The Republican party has been responsible for preventing and stonewalling all sensible gun safety legislation over the past ~30 years in America. In the 1990's it was popular to demonize violence in both cartoons, films, and video games among members of both the Democrat and Republican parties. However, in more recent years it's been conservative media outlets that continue to blame real-world violence on violent video games as its a convenient scapegoat used to distract citizens from the primary culprit behind real-world mass shootings and other forms of gun violence, ineffective and overly lax firearms regulations and the lack of a mandatory national background check for anyone trying to purchase a new or used firearm.
Most Americans, both the political left and right, just want to see more funding for public mental healthcare to identify and treat youth and adults who show signs of abusive, psychotic, or violent behavior before they start a mass shooting, and also want a mandatory universal background check in-place and enforced nationally that denies firearms purchases to people who have a documented history of abuse or violence. Yet, Republicans in the US House of Representatives and Senate have consistently been blocking any meaningful firearms or mental health legislation from even being presented in Congress and voting no to any bills that do actually make out of the House and into the Senate. Mitch McConnell has blocked possibly more common sense legislation than any other senator in US history, he even brags about it openly when he calls himself "The Grim Reaper" (of killing bills).

Other edits I remember. They skipped the first 8 episodes to start when Syaoran enters the story cause we can't have an action story that focuses on girls. Anything that involves romance or feelings got cut, so the 3rd Season is insanely edited and makes no sense. Syaoran is upset because he is going back to Hong Kong, nothing about him realizing his feelings for Sakura. Rika is now terrified of Terada-sensei instead of in love with him. Lots of episodes were just removed because not enough action happened in them, like Sakura meeting her great grandfather when they stay in a cottage during Summer Break.

I was born in 1983, and back in the day when I was a pre-teen I got my hands on some anime that was subbed. It was so excellent, because if a VERY Japanese thing happened that my American white brain didn't understand the top of the screen had context subtitles for me to learn and understand something. Subtitles got lazy and don't explain super Japanese shit to a world audience anymore.
For example, I'll be watching a Dragon Ball Z and they said before a meal "itadakimasu" which means "I gratefully receive" which is like the equivalent of praying after a meal, and context I welcome as it explains that these characters are very proper or try to be as Goku's speech is very country or improper.
