I think it’s hilarious when we went 0-2 in close games against the nuggets in the regular season people said we wouldn’t stand a chance, but when we beat the Mavs 2-0 in the regular season it all of a sudden doesn’t matter. Goal post moving at its finest from the haters.

I think it's gonna be a tough series, but i don't see them preventing mavs from scoring. As soon as you need help on luka its an open 3, lob to lively/gaff or fake/step back... there is also irving, and their defense... boston might get cold when they're defended like mavs have been def4nding so far

Name one player who has ever slowed Luka down with any kind of regularity.
You can't double Luka, you can't stop him, and you can't just let him go neither. You just have to put your best guy on him and hope that Luka just goes for 30,9, and 9.
If the Celtics want to win, they have to make their 3's, and they need to win the battle in the paint. It's simple as that.
There's no faster way to fail against the Mavericks than to sink too many resources into the fools' errand that is "stopping Luka."

Honestly, there's a fairly high chance, the Mavs give up the 1st game, but there's equally a very low chance, Luka and Ky give up 4 games to the Celtics in the finals. Kyrie was here before. And Jkidd is superb at adjustments in the playoffs.

FACTS 💀💀
1. The top defensive team, Minnesota, didn't matter so you think being 3rd best will? Solid logic. Then you contradict yourself by pointing out Luka had a monster triple-double against those same defenders.
2. Boston did beat Dallas twice. Before the trade and then less than a month after it. Dallas still struggled with the top 4 teams in the West until the playoffs. Where they've consistently gotten better each round against 3 top-4 West teams.
3. Yes. Boston will be rocking but OKC was as well. Any fan taunting towards Luka has only backfired thus far. Obviously the Boston crowd had no effect on Luka's monster triple-double right?
4. Yes Dallas is still jelling but we all notice they are steadily improving each series as the opponents get tougher. This also plays against Boston since this Dallas team will be a different one than they've played because of that improvement.
5. Luka, Kleber and Lively have been their only injuries. Kleber and Lively are back and obviously Luka is past his early round injury struggle as evidenced by his numerous triple-doubles in his past seven games. Plus Porzingus would be coming back after a long layoff and we see how that worked out for Kawhi. Suggesting Dallas is only an injury away while ignoring the Celtics are too is disingenuous and silly.
Boston may, and really should beat Dallas, but for none of the reasons you listed. If they take care of home court advantage by being able to better counter what Dallas throws at them, then they will win the championship.
Minnesota's defense is more team orientated when they come together they are elite Boston on the other hand has individual players that can guard almost anybody. Two all NBA defensive players and the rest are great defenders.
And they have already shown they are capable of slowing down or completely shutting down kyrie they did it for 4 games in a row in the playoffs when they played brooklyn and swept them.
Celtics are overall the better team and the favorites to win if they come out and dont play with there food they should win this if they make it hard for themselves thats whats going to give dallas the edge

Not to mention, Dallas has already eliminated an all NBA player in Shai, plus two 2nd team all NBA as well. Goebert was also third team all NBA.
The Mavs took down the top West team with Kyrie barely scoring in multiple games, so that's nothing new.
Again, I'm not disagreeing that Celtics should win. Just not for the reasons you stated.
White is too small to guard Luka. As is Holiday. Brown should end up on Luka because he has the size. Boston won't win with defense. They'll need to outscore Dallas imo. Like in the 120's.

Rudy is just a rim protector he cant guard the perimeter, he gets his blocks from help defense and roaming hes not a on ball defender. Reason being why some many guards will come out and say there not scared of Rudy in the paint.
Ant is a good defender mainly because of his energy and the rest of them just feed off each other. The only one who can individual guard somebody on a island is Mcdaniels.
Boston like I said the whole starting 5 can individually lock somebody up on a island/by themselves. Saying the Mavs win is the extent of saying the Warriors lose to Cavs in 2017. The Celtics are almost as good as the 17 Warriors and the Mavs are just as mid as the Cavs. Saying the Mavs will beat the Celtics is the extent of saying the Warriors would’ve lost to the Cavs in 17. You could argue that the Warriors added Durant and got better but the Celtics added Porzingis and got wayyyy better. Plus, while people will say the Celtics choke, the Warriors lost the finals the previous year and then added an elite player to make them better, which is the same as the Celtics.

1. Sure, the Celtics may have looked mid against the Pacers, but the Mavs looked super mid against the Twolves (who DID NOT play well), requiring game winners and comebacks.
2. I saw this thing online where the Celtics are treating their current opponents (not Mavs, just other 3) like it’s a regular season game since why would they play super hard against teams that won’t give them that much trouble? They’ll step it up against the Mavs lol
3. All 3 teams that the Mavs played against all played mid-bad (and Clippers were missing Kawhi), so it’s not like they were playing amazing or anything. You can say the Mavs had a challenge to the finals and the Celtics didn’t but that means nothing to me since the 80s Lakers always had a cakewalk to the finals and would win anyway

There's something on basketball reference called SRS (Simple Rating System) which takes your MOV (Margin of Victory) and Strength of Schedule (SOS) and puts them into one single stat, and SRS basically tells you how many points you'd beat the league average team by. The Celtics SRS is the 5th highest all-time (+10.74) and the Warriors is 4th all-time (+11.35). So you can call me delusional, but the facts just show that they're the 4th and 5th best regular season teams ever. Also, for the Mavs-Cavs comparison, the Cavs SRS was 2.87 and the Mavs is 2.32. So picking the Mavs would be like picking the Cavs in 17

Wow this sounds just like the first three rounds. Dallas just beat three 50 plus win teams to get here. There was only one other 50 win team in the East and the Celtics never saw them. So the Celtics will do what the #1 defense, DPOY and 6th man of the year couldn’t do? The only thing with using Tatum on Luka is foul trouble and lack of energy for offence I would go with Jaylen Brown for Holiday with Tatum for a couple possessions here and there
