LeBRondo was easily one of the greatest intellectual combos the game has ever seen!!..I'll never forget that interview where Rondo was talking about how him and Bron were sizing up the remaining competition in the bubble and they agreed that if the Heat won then Bron got Spoelstra and if the Celtics won then Rondo got Brad 😂..there not even playing against the players, there playing against the coaches that manipulate the players they play against lol..was a great glimpse into the IQ/mentality of a couple of the greatest floor generals ever!!!
Why would you cherry-pick his lowest single season 3P and FT stats of 20%/37% (from different seasons) instead of pointing to his career averages of 32%/61%? It’s especially odd given you preface the stats with “consistently,” when that 20% 3P% season was literally his rookie season. Just seems like career averages would’ve been a more honest number to highlight.
Rondo was huge on that Lakers team. Whenever LeBron was on the bench the offense would stall, but when Rondo was subbed he filled in that lead playmaking role perfectly.
yes! I was questionable but Playoff was real. Then AD and Jru???? And Cousins? Damn injury. If Boogie never got hurt, one of the few What Ifs for Pelicans
Sometimes you just know when things aren't meant to last. As a Pels fan, I never got too excited about that team because it all still felt like a rental. New Orleans is one of those places that has to build their team from the ground up, hopefully, like what we have now.
@@jlui21As a New Orleanean and a Pelican fan who went through was so happy in the city watching every game and was devastated when that happened I do believe we could have snuck and won the Championship that year had Boogie not got injured. I truly miss that squad.
They suck because they don't seem to have the awareness that their shots are wack and they keep jacking it up. Rondo is very good at attacking the basket, reading the offense and playing to his strength.
as a Lakers fan i can vouch for this, he hit some daggers vs us in 2008/10. Even tho i dont like the C's i always fucked with Rondo, even before he came to LA.
yea, these typa videos are bs, like when I was just starting to know the NBA I watched a similar type of video on Dennis Rodman, It had me thinking that he was trash before he came in Chicago for years
Sometimes I thought about players who could surely comeback from an injury like that of an acl one I thought about rondo and cp, there are many others but for me theyre the first ones to come to mind
Rondo, IQ and work ethic. i remember him in 08 boxing out bigger players like they were smaller than him. the only big players that could outbox him were all-star level big men.
Ngl in my opinion this is how a true point guard plays just like how magic johnson plays which they are not known for shooting but they are widely known for their playmaking abilities. Point guards are like the floor general inside the court, a playmaker that facilitates the game and the initiator of every plays.
Playoff rondo can shoot just as good as anybody.Actually when he got older, he could shoot 3's.Just like most great players they shoot better the last years of their career
@@carlpatrickragas2159 yeah he did shine in phoenix also and being drafted by Minnesota and spending 6 years and getting a serious injury is a death sentence to anyones basketball career
I think being a PG means you have to be a great shooter is a bit too much. The PGs job is to be the extension of the coach or make plays to give the team the W. The shooting can just be a 4th part of the PGs game cause a PG should have the passing, defending and IQ more than the scoring/shooting. I think everybody wanting to be the championship dynasty Golden State Warriors shouldn't be thinking about that. The shooting and scoring aspect works for the roster they had, especially when the Splash Brothers was still intact. But it should be finding the right players that fit to what the star's capabilities are and of course the coaching system.
Two mistakes in an otherwise good analysis. Rondo wasn't a rookie when Allen and Garnett joined Boston. His career 3pt% is 32.4. 20% from 3 is probably his rookie year. Career FT% is 61.1%. His career low is 33.3% in the 14-15 season. But I do like the video.
Rondo didn't immediately have championship aspirations with the Celtics. They didn't trade for KG and Ray Allen his sophemore year. Celtics were so trash his rookie year, he said himself he wanted to get traded
@@CourtCloud 🫡 now that's what you call G shit!!! U know how many internet personalities would've disagreed, swore they were right and argued with me as opposed to admitting 2 an honest simple mistake and correcting it!!!! Salute 2 u fam
For an NBA channel, you seem a tad clueless. Not just the obvious mistakes corrected in the comment section, but saying Rondo was flawed because he lacked shooting. Prototype point-guards do more facilitating, defending..than shooting. Current champs celtics have a PG that barely shoots (Holiday). His former team got one of the best shooters (Dame-time) how far did that get them? The league is filled with too many shoot-first PGs and it has gotten them nowhere. Everyone wants to be Curry, but it doesn't work like that
LeBRondo was easily one of the greatest intellectual combos the game has ever seen!!..I'll never forget that interview where Rondo was talking about how him and Bron were sizing up the remaining competition in the bubble and they agreed that if the Heat won then Bron got Spoelstra and if the Celtics won then Rondo got Brad 😂..there not even playing against the players, there playing against the coaches that manipulate the players they play against lol..was a great glimpse into the IQ/mentality of a couple of the greatest floor generals ever!!!
Still not as good as Boston rando i wish him and ray didn't have beef
A certified point guard his play making and court vision was straight up wonderful.
Had iq out of this world 💯💯
Rondo is what Ben Simmons should've been, but we all know what happened 😂
Please don’t put those two in the same sentence
No. There's a huge difference between getting assists and actually orchestrating an offense and controlling tempo.
It could happen if you transplant Rondo`s heart on Simmons` body 😂
Yes! First thought!
Simmons is 6’10” He should’ve been a faster Lamar Odom. But he’s mentally soft. Rondo is Bob Cousy on steroids.

Because it would hide the fact rondo became a good shooter later on
Knowing mass audience wouldn’t do the research, have to do anything for views. Lazy work
Because 💩on people gets views and they don’t expect people to look things up.
I stopped watching after that
I mean it's still bad
Absolutely a HOFer as a Celtics fan he’ll always be my favorite PG of all time
Underrated for sure
I would start my team with Rondo any day ! He’s a 15-15-15 guy! A winner!! 🔥🔥🔥
Not to mention his IQ is insane
Rondo was huge on that Lakers team. Whenever LeBron was on the bench the offense would stall, but when Rondo was subbed he filled in that lead playmaking role perfectly.
Rondo playing with boogie and ad on the pelicans. That was epic

Really young/modern NBA fans really think that players suck because they don't have a great 3P%, it's the craziest thing ever and I see it regularly.
They suck because they don't seem to have the awareness that their shots are wack and they keep jacking it up. Rondo is very good at attacking the basket, reading the offense and playing to his strength.
Rajon Rondo slowly but surely IMPROVE his shooting
Yup idk why they saying he had a bad shot cause there has been WAY bad players lol

Probably my most favorite PG of all time man... I love chris paul man
His later days, his shooting was awesome
I really liked and appreciated how Rondo maximized all his abilities and played much bigger than he was.
Exactly. He never became a great shooter but he was so skilled in everything else, that man was a positive on the court. Loved him in Boston.
KG and Ray Allen weren't on the team until 07 off-season during rondo 2nd year. He didn't play with them as a rookie.
Correct! Slight mistake was made…we’re all human 😪
Good video but worst shooter is a huge exaggeration. He was never a great shooter but he did become fairly reliable in the back half of his career
Absolutely love this vid!! Real ones know bout Rondo #9😤😤😤
This is my idol, chris paul.

Dang just realized that rondo was the one that invented that godly behind the back fake pass into lay up move
A classic pure pg on both sides of the ball. One of the most cerebral players we have seen.

Wade, Bryant, Allen
James, Anthony, Durant
Howard, Garnette, Bosh
Some people were destined to be sidekicks🔥

When isiah thomas loving the game of rondo. That was sick
Great video , but Rondo was a sophomore when KG and Allen arrived at Boston.Twolves wanted Rondo to be included in Garnett trade but Ainge refused.
Garnett told Ainge, when discussing coming to Boston, that he wanted the Celtics to keep Rondo.
2020 Rondo was a shooter man.. it gave him the edge to help win the chip
I remember Rondo would often average double doubles and triple double double back then when it was still rare to see it.
Playoff rondo can shoot just as good as anybody.Actually when he got older, he could shoot 3's.Just like most great players they shoot better the last years of their career
Rondo won title #17 for both Celtics and Lakers.. that's dope
I would absolutely love to have rondo as an assistant coach for the blazers right now.
Rondo was 3rd scoring option on Playoff Lakers
Except Playoff Rondo, his field goal percentage go way up. Bubble Rondo was the 3rd best player on the Laker team
Rondo was my favorite player when he played for the Celtics.
