I have a dumb question :) When you combine for a letter like R, how do you keep the inside of the R cut out? I don't know if I'm making sense, but the sort of like the inside of an O. If I combine, I would like XTOOL to still cut that part out, and I can't figure out how to keep it from filling that part in.
It’s a great question, actually! You have a few options: You could incorporate the bit of the R or the O into the design layer below it (and paint it that color, so a score line around it would be good). You could also “bubble letter” it by placing it on the edge of the letter so it cuts as one piece. Finally, you could add a brace. It’s like a line down from the top center of the O to hold on that piece. It’s my least favorite option because it looks like the old Army lettering (if that makes sense) and will likely be quite visible in the design.
The rectangle over the E and Subtract was game changing. I've spent so much time fiddling with those nodes or complex vectors to get what I wanted and you do it in a matter of seconds!
Glad it was helpful and for letting me know. If you ever want to do something and can't figure out how it's done, let me know. I can try to use what I have learned over the years Illustrator to share it in XCS.

I noticed you called your machine "She". Have you named her yet? ☮️🌍🌲

Aw, I'm sorry you had to learn AFTER you spent time but it's a game changer. I'm way too lazy to do things the slow way. haha :)
This is one of the best tutorials I've seen. Thank you so much for being detailed instead of assuming we all knew 😅
