I just missed out on the 2.0 beta testing and am really glad you made a video of it. Can't wait to get the actual version 2 of XCS. I'm most excited about the multi-tab function. I feel you did a great job going through the new features. I don't know if I imagined it, but I think xTool are also bringing a camera feature to the D1 Pro which is similar to what you have demonstrated with the S1. If that course of yours is anything like your UA-cam videos, it's sure to be a banger and high quality. Thanks for what you're doing in the laser community, Justin.
Hi, thanks for the update and I look forward to the new version. Wondering that if it will have a recent working files choice in a dropdown so I don’t have to look through the file directory to refind recently used files. Thanks again
i love the new software but took a little getting used to.. to find everything at the start compared to the old version.. though there are still a couple things i would like to see implemented.. like.. the preview i would love to see that running in real time showing what the project has done already as its burning.. so i do not have to get up and check on the laser unit.. that way i could watch the progress from the software.. also another thing i would love to see.. hopefully you will agree and be able to drop a word with xtool. is rather than have the laser engrave from the back of the unit to the front. like all lasers do.. but to be able to set it to start from the front of the unit and work its way to the back.. reasons for this is.. one the extraction fan is at the back of the unit.. this means as your engraver is working its blowing the smoke over the top of the area that has not been engraved yet.. keeping the engraved area a little more clean as its not sucking smoke and soot over the engraving.. also this will allow us to place a webcam on the front corner of the unit and record time lapses without the laser unit or arm in the way and hiding the engraving.. i think both these would be a great idea.. hope you all think the same.. :)
Thanks for going over this! I just got my S1 (first laser) a couple of weeks ago so still learning. The app/camera feature is cool, thinking I could laser a piece but if I wanted to go back and put my logo on the back, this would be really useful.
Thanks so much for explaining the "camera" feature on the S1. I just upgraded my X1 Pro to the S1 and wondered what the sticky targets were for LOL. Appreciate your videos!
There’s a fine line between technology being helpful and hindering. It’s a creative way of adding a photo background but way too many hoops for any kind of production or to do for every project. They were so concerned about whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think about whether or not they should. 😂 Yikes!
I followed your video step by step and yeah my image didn't populate on my monitor after scanning the qr-code. It will states that image was sent to my computer but as I look at my screen...nothing.
Thanks for your video I carnt tell you how frustrating it is having 2 or 3 different projects to create and having to wait for the fist one to finish Carnt wait to update Cheers Dave
Nice Man you have both, some day man. Just starting and just need to get a few more jobs to pay for the S1 and my Monport K40. Thanks for the video, good luck
I tried doing this with the honeycomb and I keep getting an error when it is measuring the distance (probably because the holes are throwing it off). Any recommendations??
I do not own an S! but do have a 10W and 20W D1....is it safe to assume I can use them at the same time I use P2 as you did with the S1. I would like to see the framing feature. One of the things I like about light burn is the ability to position the laser head is that in XCS.....I don't think so. Thanks for this video...
I have a 5 year old boss 1420, i bought new, how does the p2 compare would you say? I know Boss has new faster machines now but not sure i want to go down that road again, i dunno.
What dont you like about your Boss? I have an older model 1630 and the P2 is comparable in speed but obviously going to lack some of the other things like bed size, z-depth, etc..
@@justinlaser it has always been sorta inconsistent. Get settings dialed in for something and it could be next day something is off. So have to start all over. But he main thing right now is it doesn’t work with my Mac and light burn. All my other lasers and my cnc work fine. But I have to keep an old pc around. Otherwise I get weird things happening. Doesn’t happen if use a windows machine. Support told me to use a windows machine lol rather than a Mac.
What do you think about the latest firmware on the S1 that doesnt allow the job to be instantly rerun by hitting the front button? Now you have to go to the computer and hit process all over again and have the job sent again. Not great for production items such as pens or tumblers. Kinda dumb in my opinion, and maybe they dont listen to the customer that much. But maybe they just want to cater to hobbyists that may not use jigs/fixtures and just use their phone camera and make a day out of a single dog tag.
I'm new to laser's and did 30 glasses for a friend wedding that feature was so handy and much faster. I might try downloading instead of updating creative space that way I have the older version for that kind of project Just a thought
@@grumpysgarage4387 Its in the device firmware, its not a change in this beta software. No matter what software you use, if you update to the new laser machine firmware, then you are locked into the issue.
Interesting Ill have to look at that. Im sure that had something to do with people thinking they loaded a new file and hitting the button only to find it running a previous job. Had that happen to me once. I have the ear of some of the developer team Ill put in a good word.
@@justinlaser I also had done it a few times. Pushed "process" and then forgot to hit "start" or whatever it says, hit the front button and it started printing the previous job. So I can understand that aspect. But yeah as far as production, its way better.
@justinlaser I was originally looking very hard at the P2 Because of all the bells and whistles, but the S1 was a very good competitor with a lot of materials, less clear acrylic, to get started with less money. The P2 can always be welcome in the near future. I would also add if you don't have at least two lasers you are losing valuable productivity time on 8 to 20 minute burns.
I think they failed with beta so far. Its not an improvement but seems like a whole new software to learn. I cant figure out most of the things i could easilydo quickly in 1.7. This is making me seriously consider lightburn instead. Improve it, dont make it a new thing to learn.

Super cool. Will be looking forward to using this on my new xTool S1 soon. Thanks for the preview.
Thanks for watching and good luck with the new S1. Youll love it!
Great video! I have a question: Do you have to take a picture with the positioning dots every time, or is that just for the first project?
Finally someone actually explaining how to properly use this machine

I am so glad I found the beta link and got to test at the XCS 2.0.. It's so useful to be editing while my P2 is running.
Its the best!

11:32 no need to automeasure?

Thank you so much for covering these new features. I have the beta version, but wasn’t sure how to use these features.
No problem! Cant wait to dive in deeper.
Great video. These are game changing features.
Justin, S1 and WeCreat Vision 20W which one you better recommend?
Would it be possible to do that with my xtool d1 pro 10w
I have been wondering what shoot background was for! I think the new material feature is awesome!

So true I almost got another laptop for that purpose alone haha.
I've got v2.04(226) on my Android phone and I don't see the option to calibrate. What am I missing?
Is 2.0 still in beta or has it been made standard and available for download and/or available with new machines?

Does this work for the d1 pro 20w ?
does it has wifi connection the s1 20w.
When is the 2.0 version coming out?
You would have to contact x tool for that beta testers generally are not given that knowledge.
not working with the raiser
in lightburn you just open a new window
That P2 $4300 price tag tho.....
That return on a halfway decent productivity with a P2...
Definitely steep but that machine can take you a long way.

It is a cool feature for the material setting, but tell it like it is. They took the idea from We Creat Vision software
The million dollar question we are all asking is where are these dots???? Where did you get them from? Xtool wont answer
It’s on the xtool website- I googled xtool s1 positioning stickers and it came up
I am wondering the same
@@paulkukuk9215 Its on the website. You can print them.
I thought xTool said cameras are not needed and their 2 point system far exceeded the accuracy of a camera…LOL!
