Yeah if any of these girls ever went through a fraction of the brutal sexual assault and tortue most of these killers victims went through (even one where you didn't end up dead at the end) they'd shut up about being in love with the likes of Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer and "who cares if he kills me 😍". As a survivor of a serious assault, it makes me sick. It's so ignorant and what pisses me off even more is they think it makes them cool or quirky or some shit.
Barbara Dahlia Gordon Well, the Stockholm syndrome is basically that, but it’s impossible for all those delusional people to just have it at the same time💀

@@sarahhawkinson oh, gross. That's just the first incident that hit me REAL hard (when I got out of my teenaged narcissist phase). Whenever it comes to jokes about any incident that deals with death, that's what I measure it against - would I be okay with someone saying that about Sandy Hook? So I'm pretty a big buzz kill about serial killer jokes and Columbine jokes. When enough time has passed, it seems like people forget those were actual experiences real people went through, which is tough.
Also watch readytoglare she's another one that talks about this...haven't seen many people on YT talking about how shitty it is to glorify all of these things
I really appreciate Sarah's videos like this. Growing up in internet culture can tend to normalize things that shouldn't necessarily be normalized, like talking in the mentioned ways about serial killer and their victims or other topics you've covered in videos like this, so it's nice to have videos like this to remind people, myself included, just because you see something all the time on the internet, doesn't mean that there are no issues with it.

yee yee she switched up. there’s no reason to call her “weird”, at least she now realizes how terrible it was to have pictures of a serial killer on her wall.
Damn I'm glad you realized your mistakes. I was the same way but with death and Gore.. And not like interest or curiosity in horror or the human body or anything like that. I pretended I was obsessed with and LIKED people getting killed and hurt just to be edgy and make people think I was "crazy". It was disgusting and now I really question what the hell was wrong with me at the time. Sometimes I just think that kids get easily influenced that way and do that stuff for attention. Idk if that's how your situation was, but I guess this comment reminded me of my edgy phase.
Me when that cat walked into frame: WHOOOOOOAAAHH THAT IS A FAT ASS CA- Sarah: Yes I know my cat is fat. But anyway I really feel like the way we fantasize about serial killers and shooters is due to the fact that we are constantly surrounded by visual depictions of real and fictional violence in tv shows, news feeds, and films that further separate our understanding of how death, murder, rape, and torture in those fictional settings differs from what they actually mean in reality. Like, we see violence all around us to such an extent that some of us cannot really rationalize what real pain and suffering are, and therefore lose empathy for the victims who are never nearly as fleshed out and humanized as the killers. I don't want to sound like those moms who are like "BAN VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES" but I do think what we watch does desensitize us.
It absolutely does! I wish I could find a link to it, but I came across a well-written article some time last year about the "Violent videogames cause violence" debate, and this person succinctly explained that while violent videogames may not trigger the layperson to commit heinous crimes, they do play a part in desensitizing our society to that violence, so when it happens in real life, we've become detached from it so much that we don't react to it. It could easily be applied to movies and television as well. Not to mention our 24-hour news cycle that is constantly covering these events, we never really get a break from it to process our emotions and what happened. Then there's all of the instances where white cisgender men are the perpetrators of these horrific crimes, and the news humanizes them by sharing their identities, and reporting the same two variants of a backstory for these monsters; That they came from broken homes and that's why they "acted out" and mudered someone (to which the public will inevitably blame the mother for, for not "raising him right"), or these men were beloved members of their communities, or well liked in the circle of friends, so the people who thought they knew them get blindsided when the man shoots up a public area or violently murders their partner-- or any woman who told him "No", and we hear the same soundclip of "I had no idea! He always seemed like such a nice/decent guy! I'm shocked!" It gets so tiring honestly.
Very solid points you made there. And there's also the fact that those kind of characters are glamourized and even sometimes REDEEMED when it comes to fictional stuff, so we have this ideal fantasy of "sexy, smart, sassy and secretly hurt men who deserved better before turning into monsters" and I guess some people extend that whole idea to real life killers. That's hella toxic and sick. It's like a dangerous unawareness of reality and the gravity of crimes like that. Real life killers/rapists/etc are unredeemable scum.
I do feel like you missed a good talking point by not looking into 'yandere' when it came up on a post. Because that in itself is a whole bag of worms lmao.
oh I rly hope she does a video on that stuff in the future!! I like it as a horror genre but like the Tumblr blogs of ppl "venting out their yandere thoughts" are so weird!! I even saw someone say that it was ableist to say that stuff like that isn't okay because "some people have mental illnesses, karen" like.. dude that doesn't excuse glorifying abuse!!
army once it's a character trope in Japanese fiction that refers to someone (usually female) who is romantically obsessed with someone to the point of using violent means to get them.
I love these. I used to be obsessed with serial killers when I was a teenager and used to make a lot of jokes about them, until I met a victim's family and my mindset changed completely.
@Doki Doki Literature club I met the family of Robledo Puch's victim. They used to be my friend's neighbors, and since I was interested in Puch's case, I went to talk to them. They weren't immediate family, but they were still hurt by what happened even after 40 years, so yeah, it was hard.
It’s interesting to see how many women are actually attracted to serial killers and criminals. I’ve found that many have a sort of nurturing and maternal instinct to try and save him or make him a better person. Idk it’s weird but fascinating 🤷♀️
it’s so interesting to me as well. I don’t know how they can even look past their crimes, and I have a feeling they would probably never want to be faced with it in real life. it’s just a fantasy that plays into their instincts maybe? who’s to say...
@@sarahhawkinson I think this is bigger then just a fantasy... I think for a very long time with men controlling the narrative of romance stories ... Men could get away with pretty much any sort of disgusting behavior and a woman is always lined up to "help" him and love him no matter how crazy he is. I wonder if there are male groupies who see these killers the same way as women do. Or if there are any male groupies for female serial killers.
@@monkeyming5545 I think they were talking about it being societies fault not men's lol gender specific issues are inherently social because gender is a social concept
Full disclosure: I only watched the first like 2 eps of last season of AHS, but I literally don't understand why they decided to put a character named Richard Ramirez in the season when they already insert fictionalized/dramaticized versions of real life killers in past seasons ie Tate, Mr. March, Bloody Face, etc..
Katie Shayler-Bethell it was the second time they bringing ramirez . In hotel there’s a bunch of serial killer in the devils night , dahmer , ramirez , zodiac etc..
I actually knew BTK, he was my moms cousins (she was like an aunt to me) neighbor. She used to think it was a little weird how much he was in his shed in the backyard. People in my home town HATE when people joke about him or make memes of him. We'll never get to the point of being so far removed (I hope at least) from his crimes that we can joke about it. The scars run deep in my town and people who didn't live thru the fear will never understand...
A lot of these memes seem like they use humor from Truly Tasteless Jokes. I didn't know people getting Ted Bundy bite mark tattoos were even a thing people did.
The whole 'sexually attracted to serial killers' thing is... what? We need to stop acting like them having Hybristophilia is okay or excuses the posts/merch/tattoos (not saying the video is at all). It isn't, folks. Literally go to a medical professional. When I say 'yall need therapy' I mean it in the most genuine way possible.
True, I have Hybristophilia and I can tell how awful it is to actually want to be a worthless little slave to a disgusting monster as the such of Richard Ramirez, and how therapy has helped me refrain from actually seeking out dangerous people to get involved with. It's not funny, it's not cute, and I can assure you most of the people who say they have it are lying and just USING it as an excuse for their lack of empathy and morals
if these people went through even half of the pain and suffering and torture the victims of these serial killers went through then they'd shut up real fast. its not quirky, its disgusting.
People getting desensitized to the concept of murder and torture to where it doesn’t mean anything anymore because of how often they hear about it with all the true crime channels and memes
thank you for talking about this, i'm going into college for criminology and hate the romanticization of serial killers. just because their killing sprees took place decades ago does not mean they didn't happen. i do have dark humor myself but i know when to draw a line and some of these memes in particular are really disgusting.
i just wish some of these memes would clarify the difference between “i (romantically/sexually) like serial killers” and “i find serial killers interesting”
i couldn't see myself, even at the height of my true crime obsession, enjoying these memes........ like i don't even have the stomach for 9/11 jokes, let alone a columbine/fresh price of bel air mashup
hi sorry i don't know much about american history and i only know bits of the hamilton musical, but what do you mean by that? was he a serial killer? (honestly im v confused)
@@Toia.M I think they ment how fans take actual people and treat them like fictional characters. Like shipping the founding fathers and writing fanfiction about Ted Bundy. Stuff like that.

Hmmmm nah... it's still WEIRD. (I was over here thinking "what? lin manuel miranda is in the true crime comunity?" i feel STOOPID so thx for the reply)
I have a BA in History and have basically dedicated my life to learning American history and it BAFFLES me everytime I see a Hamilton 'head canon'. I personally don't choose to listen to or watch Hamilton stuff because I find it revisionist to some extent (not a judgement about people who enjoy it I think the way it sparked an interest in history balances out the simplicity of the story). People feel distanced from history so they no longer take it as an event that was very real and impacted people in a very real way, which I in part blame on the way we tend to teach history as well just a stale timeline of events.
this is exactly why i left the tcc on instagram!! I ran a factual account and the amount of disgusting comments I would receive about how hot and sexy the serial killers were I posted literally made me have to delete my account because i couldn’t stand it anymore i’m so glad you’re talking about this
ok HUGE CAT ALERT..... Sarah I just think everytime you talk about cursed things they have to come over to the shot so we feel a lil better about this damned world
you’re very insightful and i appreciate listening to your input. i don’t think you’re being nit picky at all. thank you for this, it’s validating to know that somebody else (especially somebody with a platform) has basic human decency and respect
Charles Manson was actually a Scorpio, only reason I know this is because we have the same birthday. Didn’t learn that until a few years ago. Kind of freaked me out.
Im glad you’re talking about this 🙏 I have kinda been personally affected because like a year ago I learned that someone I really looked up to was murdered by a well known serial killer. Ever since it has been insanely hard for me. I’m only 21 but have to deal with trying to make people help with keeping his murderer behind bars and dealing with how desensitized people are. Memes, merch and also people posting pictures of corpses online nearly drove me to commit suicide and I know of at least one person that killed himself as a cause of that. I hope I‘ll be able to speak up one day too but atm I really have to stay away from all that. I can’t even watch your videos on these topics even though I love your videos just because it’s so triggering. I wish people would realize that these victims were real people with real families and real future plans. It’s insane to me that so many are talking trash about people that other people lost to murder.
Mr.Duck with a top hat, yesss I agree but they got a hand me down phone and know instead of pretending barbies pregnant, SHES pretending she’s pregnant for clout 🤦🏼♀️
Elsie DeLorean Basically they created this whole fictional back story to his murders that I think really trivialised the true nature of his crimes. They also added in a fictional character that was supposed to be his girlfriend that told him to kill people and they made it so that he was literally possessed by the devil 🙄 The way they mixed fact and fiction together like that is problematic and disrespectful to the families of the people he killed who had to live through the very real nightmare of his crimes.
Yes she said film ratio as in the ratio of films today. I think she was making a joke about how they make an IG filter for anything and she's not surprised that they made one about serial killers
Film ratio is like the size of the video like a phone’s film ratio is different than a fancy video camera. I think that’s what it’s talking about. She’s using it as an example of a very niche thing for one of those filters
First off, love your outfit! Secondly I've never thought of you as "nitpicky". I've always appreciated your videos as they are generally unbiased and your own critical take on the situations. Keep on keepin on, you're doing a good job 💞👏
i’m glad you pointed out the weird connection to “lol i want to die” as a mainstream gen z joke- idk if that’s too small of a topic to do a video on but the similarity to mental illness memes & finding another way to trivialize suicidality has always bugged me
Ouu! I'm excited for the AHS killer video. :) Also I love all these discussion videos because you make me think about topics I've never considered much before.
I’m 14 and knowing the ppl in my age group this doesn’t surprise me. Ab 75% of kids at my high school like having dark senses of humor that is edgy and pushes at boundaries, just like the kids making these memes, bc they want to be different and quirky and they want attention and whatever. Gen Z definitely lacks em apathy and sensitivity ab anything that doesn’t happen to them or someone they know, and none of them r rlly aware that their actions and words r harmful or disrespectful, they just want to stand out. This is the age of getting on ppls nerves for humor. Not that I’m trying to sound mean or like I hate my generation or like I think I’m above them, it just gets annoying when everyone in my classes acts like this. Ik there r good Gen Z ppl, I just don’t seem to come across a lot of them.
In my area if you act like this stuff is cute you're getting *jumped*. Not /ALL/ Gen Z is, n a s t y, thank god. (And also, a note, the fact you uh- mentioned you were 14 and then proceeded to bash the rest of Gen Z makes you sound a bit like you're trying to be 'quirky' and 'unique'. Just wanted to tell you how your comment came across if you wanna, change it a little bit-)
Your high school is not the entire populace. I'm 15 and 90% of my old public school was in to fortnite and meta memes. Way different from yours. We dont lack empathy entirely and there are plenty who are aware. From a 15 year old saying this, don't generalize the generation you're in. It makes you sound like a hypocrite. No offense I'm just saying how it sounds, I get where you're coming from. However dark humor has tons of categories and it's not all boundary pushing. It's an outlet for many and I wont argue the people who make these memes want attention. Sorry if I came off as rude at all.
That is true to an extent. To be honest, I struggle with empathy with a lot of subjects with things that even I have been through. I cognitively understand, but my emotions are removed from those kinds of things, so I rarely feel bad. The exception is that I am more likely to feel empathy for family members. About dark humour, it's just my style and not a thing for attention. -Sincerely a gen Z-er
Grace Hogan no no u didn’t come off as rude at all! I get what ur saying, and I’m sry that I came off that way. And I get what u mean when u y’all ab dark humor, I’ve got some friends that like dark humor and use it, it’s just that there r a lot of kids at my school that use the type of dark humor I’m talking ab all the time and it pisses me off. I don’t think that my school is a representation of every gen z out there, it’s just that most of the kids I come into contact w at my school r just like that. Thx for telling me I sound like a hypocrite. I tend to do that sometimes and I need ppl like u to call me out on it or else ima be a hypocrite forever.
I don't have any real thoughts on this beyond what you expressed--I find these memes rather tasteless. But that chonker cat--where can I see more of it?
why not just make the Richard Ramirez CHARACTER - get this - NOT Richard Ramirez and just a fictional serial killer INSPIRED by Ramirez similar to Tate????
can you do a video more in depth of the psychological background of hybristophilia? i didnt know it existed and i would be really interested to hear your take on it thx
I totally agree with your thoughts on the growing desensitization of serial killers and their crimes. When the Ted Bundy Netflix movie came out, tons of girls at my high school made remarks about Bundy’s attractiveness and charisma, sometimes to the degree of borderline obsession. When my chemistry teacher who attended FSU when the Chi Omega murder happened, heard word of these girls glorifying Bundy, she basically sat all of them down to talk about what it was actually like living in the same time as him. I think hearing her perspective knocked a lot of the girls out of the “fictionalized trance” that film and social media put them in.
Oh thank god , this needed to be said. I'm following a tcc hashtag on instagram and all I see are these crappy memes with some lighthearted captions and I'm like...??
We have opinion questions every week at school and one time it was "who do you look up to and why?" A kid wrote Jeffery Dhamer. Why? "He was dedicated to what he did and he was good at it".
Okay, that "Night Stocker" one genuinely made me laugh, and I feel like it's a good example of one that's clearly not meant to be glorifying the person it depicts.
i love your videos on these topics! i definitely think people are so disconnected from the actual murders, victims and killers and probably desensitised to all the crime details that they end up fooling themselves that they are just 'bad boys'. if they were actually attached to the cases and victims in any way then i'm sure they wouldn't view the killers that way
As someone going to school for forensic science and has a very intense interest in criminology and forensic psychology. Your videos are some of my favorites cause they're not only factual but also point out how disgusting these killers were like seriously.
Love seeing panel meme serial killers loving and supporting each other by showing interest in each others crimes. /s Some of those darker memes actually made me laugh just because of *how* dark they were, but I don't think those jokes should be shared in meme format. They are more something you might say irl to a friend, where you're also giving them the opportunity to call you out if you're going to far and potentially start a discussion on a more intellectual level about the topic. I don't like the thought of things like this floating around for everyone to see and maybe even internalize ideas from. The quote about not seeing serial killers as people really exemplifies the attitude of mythologizing horrific things for the sake of turn-off-my-brain entertainment and, more importantly, to the detriment of the actual human beings that have had or still have to live with the consequences. I'm not a native speaker, so I *hope* this makes sense.
I write a lot of short stories to practice my writing for my WIP book and sometimes I write about killers. So I do a lot of research. My FBI agent watching my phone is... worried, to say the least. “How many times do you have to stab someone for them to die” “What poisons are undetectable” “How much blood do you have to lose to die” These are real searches I’ve searched for my books.
Im so glad that you bring this topic back. Its something so serious and cruel and disgusting, that even me, when i talk about serial killers to others, I try to be very carefull so... people who do this for “fun”... i dont think so. Also, i was expecting a serial killer video, and that you will talk about portraying richard ramirez and others on ahs is amazing i cant wait for that content, and do more, please, maybe in a near future we can discuss about the Mindhunter series... i love it 💜💜💜
It’s not like a fetishization for me or some attempt at being edgy, I just really find serial killers disturbingly fascinating and it’s interesting to know what sort of fucked up thing in their heads made them turn out like this , but shit like “ having a crush on Ted bundy “ is not okay , but it is okay to have a fascination with them
im totally with sarah here, but a lot of these meme formats sent me back to 2012?? it makes me wonder if this unfortunate part of the tcc is behind the times, if she didnt find many newer ones, or if theyre just not as frequent now
When you see that the people making the memes don't think they're hurting the victims, they totally forget that the victims were human beings, and had families who might still be alive and find these. Even worse, for the Columbine shootings you just need to watch the videos the survivors made for the 20th anniversary to realize that it really wasn't long ago, and a lot of people are still very much affected by it. I have trouble hearing those king of people being referred as "the true crime community" because the true crime community I know on most true crime channels here is full of compassionate people who want to try to understand what happened, remember the victims and try to prevent more victims. This is disgraceful
Great that you are talking about this! The internet truly is a strange place. A lot of these things I would consider past just some dark humour. These people are doing exactly what these serial killers want: giving them attention.
I joined a Serial killers Facebook group that had thousands of members, thinking it would a place to discuss cases, share facts and stories etc. It was not. It was full of people glorifying killers, saying who their favourite was, who had the best techniques, talking about how much they admired them and “looked up to them”. One man made a whole post about how amazing he thought the green river killer was, how cool he thought he was. I left the group after a picture of Richard Ramirez was posted and hundreds of people commented how gorgeous and “misunderstood” he was. No from me. Great video as well 😊
Sarah, your are one the money on so many levels with your serial killer memes. Favorite serial killer ???? Come on world we can do so much better than this ridiculous and absurd mindset IMO. Thanks for sharing :-)
That Columbine meme in particular blows my mind. It sort of makes sense that it's easy for people to detach some of these killers (Bundy, Ramirez, etc) from the reality of their crimes. Not just because it was so long ago, but also because most people have no experience similar to what the victims went through. Most people don't know what it's like to be kidnapped, assaulted, or (obviously) killed. But school shootings and public shootings are different. They have become so common, kids are scared to go to school. Shootings hit much closer to home in today's culture (unfortunately). Of course, all memes that glorify killers are bad. But it baffles me how anyone thought people would get a kick out of the Columbine one. I don't think I know any high schoolers who would be laughing.
I’ve always found the psychology around serial killers fascinating but I had nooooo idea people actually romanticised and joked about them... seriously wtf
Honestly we need more of your cat in these videos, as to have a break to ground ourselves between having to deal with the emotional labor of discussing serial killer idolization.
>Serial killers aren’t bad boys. Reminds me of the scene in Heathers where JD breaks into Veronica’s house and Veronica says “You think you’re a rebel? You’re not a rebel, you’re a fucking psycho.” Which sums it up well.
I'm fascinated in the psychology behind serial killers, and trying to figure out what makes them tick. They aren't "uWu sweet cinnamon rolls" though, they are messed up people, who did messed up things. And as much as I would liked to have met Manson before he passed in the prison system, and picked his brain, that would have been scary and terrifying, period.
Hi! I found the points you made really interesting and I definitely agree with them, but I took a slightly different view. Many people joke about massive tragedies, but I believe it's not due to their desensitisation of the event but rather they fully understand the gravity of these things and can't really handle it. Therefore, they make jokes to almost normalise these events and process it in a way that they can handle a bit better. Naturally, not everyone is like this and there will be people who are just insensitive and callous but I think the point of view I've taken is an interesting one. I'd love to hear other people's opinions!
Recently there was a crime in Mexico where a 7 year old girl suffered a death sort of like the black dahlia , given the type of culture that currently mocks everything , I just really hope this doesn't happen in this case . Thanks for presenting these type of discussions , awareness is needed to not be desensitized .
about 7 minutes in, when you mentioned 70's serious killers being regarded on the same level as a urban myth, it really reminds me of the way Ed Guine (i'm probably spelling that wrong) got transformed in 60's and 70's horror media as, just like the killers you've mentioned today, a kind of mythical "legend" for lack of better words. seems like a pattern i suppose. it's just now instead of movies and books loosely based on the killer(s) it's tasteless memes. yaaay

She could do a whole video about that..
oh I rly hope she does a video on that stuff in the future!!
Ashley Dziadus can someone explain what yandere is exactly ive heard of it but i don’t really know what it is lol
army once it's a character trope in Japanese fiction that refers to someone (usually female) who is romantically obsessed with someone to the point of using violent means to get them.
whyD.On'tyougetit oh wow... okay 😅
They weren't immediate family, but they were still hurt by what happened even after 40 years, so yeah, it was hard.
can i ask you a question? why did you get into serial killers, and what do you think sparked your obsession?
It’s interesting to see how many women are actually attracted to serial killers and criminals. I’ve found that many have a sort of nurturing and maternal instinct to try and save him or make him a better person. Idk it’s weird but fascinating 🤷♀️
It's disgusting... Ted Bundy Gropies... Even in death 😑
it’s so interesting to me as well.
Green Eyesgirl123 How is it mens fault for women liking serial killers?
@@chaneh1887 oh yeah I forgot about that
They also did the axe man but for more of the urban legend aspects of it irrc
Marie Laveau and Marie Delphine LaLaurie were both real people
I actually knew BTK, he was my moms cousins (she was like an aunt to me) neighbor.
I didn't know people getting Ted Bundy bite mark tattoos were even a thing people did.
oh it’s very much a thing...
Rob K. Oh its a thing..wayyy to many people do it
The whole 'sexually attracted to serial killers' thing is...
Lya Marques holy shit man, I didn’t realise that was a thing
It can lead to real life harlequin/joker relationships
@Isabella Jaskiewicz what do they say?
if these people went through even half of the pain and suffering and torture the victims of these serial killers went through then they'd shut up real fast. its not quirky, its disgusting.
People getting desensitized to the concept of murder and torture to where it doesn’t mean anything anymore because of how often they hear about it with all the true crime channels and memes

*OH LAWD HE COMIN*
*chonky lad*
thank you for talking about this, i'm going into college for criminology and hate the romanticization of serial killers. just because their killing sprees took place decades ago does not mean they didn't happen. i do have dark humor myself but i know when to draw a line and some of these memes in particular are really disgusting.
I immediately googled the Ted Bundy bite mark tattoo - WHAT THE HELL?????
Yeah it's disgusting
she did a whole video on serial killer tattoos, you should check it out. the bite mark tattoo was definitely one of the worst!
@@AniWillow Oh thank you - I'll defo check it out!
i just wish some of these memes would clarify the difference between “i (romantically/sexually) like serial killers” and “i find serial killers interesting”
Ana Bella Yes finding them interesting and romantically are two different things!-
We definitely are WAY too desensitized, me included
Yeah dude sometimes I'm going full on uWu sErIaL kIlLErsz uWU then I'm like... Binch... Stop...
i couldn't see myself, even at the height of my true crime obsession, enjoying these memes........ like i don't even have the stomach for 9/11 jokes, let alone a columbine/fresh price of bel air mashup
Fictionalizing serial killers reminds me of thE FREAKING HAMILTON FANDOM
honestly.
hi sorry i don't know much about american history and i only know bits of the hamilton musical, but what do you mean by that? was he a serial killer? (honestly im v confused)
@@Toia.M I think they ment how fans take actual people and treat them like fictional characters. Like shipping the founding fathers and writing fanfiction about Ted Bundy. Stuff like that.
YES! I used to be in the fandom.. stuff gets messy.. especially for an artist.
@@DraculaWizard oooh yeah that makes a lot of sense... i hate it. If they were still living that would be weird but since they're dead it's okay bc they're just characters?
I ran a factual account and the amount of disgusting comments I would receive about how hot and sexy the serial killers were I posted literally made me have to delete my account because i couldn’t stand it anymore i’m so glad you’re talking about this
and to add on to this the amount of fan video edits of serial killers is truly disgusting I don’t get how some people idolize these people
I saw a columbine meme that said "when you forget to eat breakfast"or something like that,it was not funny at all, very distasteful and disrespectful!
well humor is subjective
Themooncircles - yeah well the victims probably wouldn’t find it funny but they can’t say anything because they are dead it’s not funny
ok HUGE CAT ALERT..... Sarah I just think everytime you talk about cursed things they have to come over to the shot so we feel a lil better about this damned world
I love that the title kinda implies that this is just a compilation of serial killer memes
Meme 👏 review 👏
you’re very insightful and i appreciate listening to your input. i don’t think you’re being nit picky at all. thank you for this, it’s validating to know that somebody else (especially somebody with a platform) has basic human decency and respect
Charles Manson was actually a Scorpio, only reason I know this is because we have the same birthday. Didn’t learn that until a few years ago. Kind of freaked me out.
I love these videos tbh, so insightful, fair and interesting
thank you!
"who made these?!" my thoughts exactly, sarah.
Had to add, really excited that you’re gonna talk about Ramirez in AHS please talk about how gross the motel dinner was!!
Off topic but I feel like you should do a video about those “pregnant” and “I want a baby” accounts run by bloated 9 year olds on TikTok.
Jakaś tam laska, yes unfortunately
I saw one of those and I was like “YIKES. You should be playing with Barbies”
Mr.Duck with a top hat, yesss I agree but they got a hand me down phone and know instead of pretending barbies pregnant, SHES pretending she’s pregnant for clout 🤦🏼♀️
RayRay Pineapple and the kids are usually like “I haven’t asked my bowyfrwend yet” and I’m just like how the heck do 9 year olds have relationships
Mr.Duck with a top hat yesss, that is so annoyingggg
Omg the way they portrayed Richard Ramirez in AHS made me so angry!!!
How? What happened? 😮
Elsie DeLorean Basically they created this whole fictional back story to his murders that I think really trivialised the true nature of his crimes.
They also added in a fictional character that was supposed to be his girlfriend that told him to kill people and they made it so that he was literally possessed by the devil 🙄
The way they mixed fact and fiction together like that is problematic and disrespectful to the families of the people he killed who had to live through the very real nightmare of his crimes.
Dude I knowwww! I described it as shitty richard ramirez fan fiction
why not just pull a Tate Langdon and BASE him off Ramirez without making them the same character?? ew
Why would they cast Zach villa for him hes too hot to be a serial killer :(
What’s film ratio? Or am I hearing that wrong? When mentioning the IG filters...
Noneya Business aspect ratio maybe?
Yes she said film ratio as in the ratio of films today. I think she was making a joke about how they make an IG filter for anything and she's not surprised that they made one about serial killers
Film ratio is like the size of the video like a phone’s film ratio is different than a fancy video camera. I think that’s what it’s talking about. She’s using it as an example of a very niche thing for one of those filters
I feel like certain morbid jokes are funny like things about the titanic or the Black Death plague but those happened hundreds of years ago
kinda different imo, you cant really idolize an iceberg
Lorri Alden or a rat lmaooo but i get what they were trying to say
Lorri Alden those are the 2 events that I thought of first, after nicki Minaj released chun-li all I saw were titanic jokes
@@lovelessact1 yeah, i get what you mean
Lorri Alden imagine idolizing an iceberg “I wish I could get split in half, like the Titanic, by that iceberg 😍😍” 🤣🤣
@@wisterwilson8774 THANK you for saying it.
Wait, who was Tate based off of?

can you do a video more in depth of the psychological background of hybristophilia? i didnt know it existed and i would be really interested to hear your take on it thx
Rosario Salomone me too
I genuinely hate AHS because I feel like they aren't actually a horror show, its just all purely shocked factor.
Yeah I can't watch it because it's so disgusting
Sarah you are so pretty! Thanks for tackling these subjects
i love your videos on these topics! i definitely think people are so disconnected from the actual murders, victims and killers and probably desensitised to all the crime details that they end up fooling themselves that they are just 'bad boys'. if they were actually attached to the cases and victims in any way then i'm sure they wouldn't view the killers that way
Hey Sarah, keep up the good work!
As someone going to school for forensic science and has a very intense interest in criminology and forensic psychology. Your videos are some of my favorites cause they're not only factual but also point out how disgusting these killers were like seriously.
I like these videos! It's good to raise discussion on these topics since we are so bombarded with stuff like this that we become tolerant to that
Love seeing panel meme serial killers loving and supporting each other by showing interest in each others crimes. /s
Some of those darker memes actually made me laugh just because of *how* dark they were, but I don't think those jokes should be shared in meme format.
“How many times do you have to stab someone for them to die”
“What poisons are undetectable”
“How much blood do you have to lose to die”
These are real searches I’ve searched for my books.
I love serial killers from a phycological view. Their mindset is just so interesting! They’re just so interesting, the why, how’s, and whats!
“Live laugh love, bind torture kill” made me so uneasy?? all of this obviously did but that one really is just so awful :(
sarah i love ur content so much bc u approach these concepts very rationally and cooly. lol just had to say that!
I'm so early oh boy,, love you sarah (& your cats) 💕
As soon as I read your comment I heard a small meow in the background
Im so glad that you bring this topic back. Its something so serious and cruel and disgusting, that even me, when i talk about serial killers to others, I try to be very carefull so... people who do this for “fun”... i dont think so. Also, i was expecting a serial killer video, and that you will talk about portraying richard ramirez and others on ahs is amazing i cant wait for that content, and do more, please, maybe in a near future we can discuss about the Mindhunter series... i love it 💜💜💜
Serial killers hot.
Serial killers cold.
Serial killers in the pot

It’s not like a fetishization for me or some attempt at being edgy, I just really find serial killers disturbingly fascinating and it’s interesting to know what sort of fucked up thing in their heads made them turn out like this , but shit like “ having a crush on Ted bundy “ is not okay , but it is okay to have a fascination with them
I love these. Keep doing you
A lot of these fall into the 'I would love to have been a victim of *insert serial killer here...*'
i‘m not even that into true crime but i enjoy your voice and your videos so much that i cant stop watching them haha
Your chonky cat is adorable 🦋
im totally with sarah here, but a lot of these meme formats sent me back to 2012?? it makes me wonder if this unfortunate part of the tcc is behind the times, if she didnt find many newer ones, or if theyre just not as frequent now
When you see that the people making the memes don't think they're hurting the victims, they totally forget that the victims were human beings, and had families who might still be alive and find these.
Hi Sarah! Love your work! 💕
Thanks for sharing :-)
im doing a pop culture assignment on the rise of popularity in people's obsession with serial killers/true crime thank you!!!!
Would you make a meme about a victim? No, because it’s messed up so why would you make a meme about the killer?
Jack Wilde omg youre SO edgy 😍😍👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
3:40 weirded me out so much 🤢
Honestly we need more of your cat in these videos, as to have a break to ground ourselves between having to deal with the emotional labor of discussing serial killer idolization.
12:30 the cat is looking around like, WHO is she TALKING TO?!?!
nah girl you are so right with your point. thank you for talking about it
>Serial killers aren’t bad boys.
Reminds me of the scene in Heathers where JD breaks into Veronica’s house and Veronica says
“You think you’re a rebel? You’re not a rebel, you’re a fucking psycho.” Which sums it up well.
Okay admit. The dumping one was hilarious
Me too, I'm interested in what drove these people to commit the crimes they did but would I want to meet any of them? Not in a million years.
Perfect timing, cat! And thank you for another great video.
Half the time with the serial killer memes I'm just laughing uncomfortably bc it's so bad.
I'm glad you have a dark sense of humor about the ones that aren't too bad.
Recently there was a crime in Mexico where a 7 year old girl suffered a death sort of like the black dahlia , given the type of culture that currently mocks everything , I just really hope this doesn't happen in this case . Thanks for presenting these type of discussions , awareness is needed to not be desensitized .
Please make more collabs with your cat he makes everything better

I think Ramirez actually did have at least one child victim, a 9-year-old girl
love your videos sarah, keep on doing you miss thing :)
UNIT OF A CAT. LOVE HIM.
about 7 minutes in, when you mentioned 70's serious killers being regarded on the same level as a urban myth, it really reminds me of the way Ed Guine (i'm probably spelling that wrong) got transformed in 60's and 70's horror media as, just like the killers you've mentioned today, a kind of mythical "legend" for lack of better words. seems like a pattern i suppose. it's just now instead of movies and books loosely based on the killer(s) it's tasteless memes. yaaay
Your cat is BUFF I love them
