@@kidinthekelp5570 my cousin and I tried making a cinammon mask once; we ended up just lying on the floor and crying for a while bc it felt like our faces were on fire
seriously. like i get that kids don’t really understand, but homemade ≠ safe. meth and whipits which are some of the most unsafe drugs can be made from stuff at home ffs
It probably has become a controversial statement because cannabis is usually classified even though it's the least harmful out of alot of other drugs so pro-cannabis folk tend to get mixed up in that
@@sadi19 I was saying that people were overinflating cannabis with drugs as a whole and getting defensive when people say that statement and interpret it as a prudish "just say no" 80's campaign style of saying it

“U think we care? Funny” is literally what every preteen says when they’re feeling bullied and salty and don’t have a comeback. These kids ages really show right through the screen
that should only make it sadder? lol age of getting into drugs and making bad choices at a young age maybe isnt something we should demonize? enstead educate them maybe LOL

things like benadryl and nutmeg are not psychedelics or hallucinogens theyre something called deliriants which cause nothing but discomfort and terror.
I ODed on Benadryl and I had horrible hallucinations. But they were all terrifying and I felt paranoid as fuck. I’m not a chemist but that was just my experience
As someone who purposefully OD'd on benadryl to see if it'd get me high, it was horrendous. I felt like I was dying! I had awful hallucinations of spiders and just felt like my body was shutting down, it wasn't, i was okay but I was worried I wouldn't survive.
coming from the perspective of someone who used to do a LOT of drugs for fun: you’re so in the right for making this video. who cares if we sound preachy, KIDS should not be seeing these kinds of things. they’re only going to hurt themselves. I wish I had someone looking out for me when I was younger and telling me the hard truths about bad trips, ODs and whatnot
@@graveygraveyard not to disappoint, but weed does alter your brain I mean,I only smoked it for nearly 10 years starting underage and have actually studied the effects of weed.
as a teenager, this video means a lot to me. recently my friend group and i got in a fight about drugs and we basically are no longer as close. i’m glad i can feel like i’m not alone with being weary of drug usage.
hi, I do not know you. But stay strong, back when I was in highschool everyone was doing drugs, I never did it. Years later is one of the best decision I have ever made, the negative effects that come from drugs are horrible and sometimes for the rest of your life. If your friends want to do drugs, that is on them. Real friends should never pressure you to do something you do not want!
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that you are most definitely not alone! I am 20, in my 3rd year of college and I have never done or ever wanted to do drugs or alcohol. I have friends who use weed and drink, but they do not push me in any way to try it and actively go out of their way not to smoke any weed in the same room if we hang out because they know it gives me migraines
You’re definitely not alone I am 21 and I’m have never had much interest in drugs or alcohol I think more young people should be wary of drug use drugs are no joke and they aren’t a toy you have to do them just right and with care or they can kill you. They need to be concidered very serious.
Stay brave and strong. You should only consume drugs if you want to and not because you are pressured into it. And especially hard drugs are so dangerous because you might have an addiction for life. No friendship is worth that, and real friends also wouldn't want that for you !
I'm almost 21 and I really hope that everyone won't pressure me to drink on my birthday, that is literally the last thing I want to do lol. I'm really glad I opened this thread because I've been feeling pretty lonely about having this mindset toward drug use, but I'm glad I'm not alone! Stay safe and love yourself ^^
TW: hi just here to tell my story to someone who is impressionable watching this who got the bright idea to take benadryl- DO NOT. i tried to commit suicide using benadryl not knowing the effects it has on the brain. considering the state i was in its no surprise the things i saw led to long lasting effects, some of which include: -having panic attacks when taking ANY pill -freezing up when i see shadows -having my heart drop into my stomach when someone mentions benadryl/i see a bottle it ISNT fun. i was bent over the toilet vomiting my guts out. i couldn’t tell if my mom was really there with me or if i was dead. i threw up in my moms car on the way to the emergency room where they told me i very well could have died due to my age. it’s not a fun quirky drug to use, it gives you anxiety. i remember falling asleep in the hospital and i thought an episode of greys anatomy was playing while i was falling asleep when i’m actuality i was in pitch black darkness in a room with no tv. you hear voices, you feel spiders crawling all over you, you see things move towards you as if they’re attacking you. i am literally scarred for life, i can’t get the image out of my head of me on my way to the hospital, looking in the side mirror of my moms car with vomit dripping down my chin. you know that scene in the fault in our stars where gus is at the gas station and his tube is infected? yeah it was like that but so much scarier because I was the one in danger. i will never be the same. if you are reading this and are even considering doing benadryl, i hope my story could talk you out of it. please, take care of your body and find happiness elsewhere, you don’t need drugs to escape or to have fun. god bless you 🥺🥺❤️
Oh my gosh, wow. I hope you are doing better, mentally as well (since you were using Benadryl to try to commit.) I hope this story was enough to talk yet another teen/kid out of doing this
I thought about overdocint on bent from around last year. I was using it as a crutch to fall asleep. I never got addicted thankfully but I was using them whenever I couldn’t fall asleep right away. Honestly having a bad high is fucking terrible, because your defenses are down and your brain is working against you. There’s nothing you can do to stop it other than wait it out. I had a bad high with an edible recently. First time eating some of that potent shit. It was fucking scary, any time I moved the room wouldn’t stand still. My heart raced and I was having a panic attack. I had images in my mind that I couldn’t get out of my head and I felt so nauseous. That was just from weed which isn’t even a hard drug. I can’t imagine how much it sucks to take too much of other drugs. (Also oh my god if you’re ever doing edibles for the first time and you’re not used to weed, take less than what you think. I’ve smoked before and only had 20 mg of edibles because I thought given my experience I could take it. I was so wrong. I should have only taken half of one. Also edibles from dispensaries are going to be way more potent than what you’ll get from your dealer)
Same! I didn't fry my brain, but I did end up in the er, then a psych ward, and I don't remember a single thing except how miserable the three day hangover was. And the nightmares.
I remember there was a stupid trend about putting chapstick on your eyelids to get high when I was in middle school and like ???? Wtf??? Kids are stupid
Sniffing sharpies and smoking erasers inside a post it note. Yes. People smoke eraser shards in a post it note. Excuse me? Are my classmates stupid, or psychopaths?
I went to the store with my friend about a year ago to buy PVA glue to do crafts and stuff and the lady at the counter said that we had to have parents with us or be over 18 Like bruh kids are stupid
The most worrying thing about the home made alcohol to me isn't that they're drinking, but that they have no idea what they're doing, and will probably make methanol and end up blind or dead.
That’s mostly if you’re making spirits, it’s almost impossible to distinguish between methanol and ethanol when distilling, you need to have the right experience and equipment. Homemade beer or fermented drinks are less risky (hence less regulated). But yea your point still stands, and yes methanol is highly highly dangerous when consumed in anything other that a very small amount.
@@SianChristina let’s be honest, it’s not super hard to get alcohol. The legal age is 18 where I live but I know people who started getting drunk when they were only 13 (I was around 14.5 when I first got drunk but looking back at it I was too young) the legal age used to be 16 for beers and 18 for harder drinks. And I think that might work better because kids are going to drink regardless, I’d rather have them drinking beer than super strong liquors.
Most of these “household drugs” can only give bad trips, by the way. - Nutmeg makes you feel like shit mentally, physically, and emotionally. You do, technically, hallucinate, but it’s small visual distortions that are generally not worth the resulting self loathing. - Benadryl makes you vividly hallucinate things that you fear. You’ll feel paranoid as hell, see shadow people everywhere, and some people have actually been traumatized by things they’ve seen after OD’ing on it. (Basically, imagine having sleep paralysis hallucinations on purpose.) Source: people who have tried these
Borky Bork no, my sources are other people talking about it!! My sources on both the Benadryl and nutmeg descriptions were largely from informative posts I’ve read, although the nutmeg one also came partially from my dad
I have pretty awful allergies in spring and fall, I never take benadryl about 6 hour before I go to bed. It makes my night terrors so much worse, and it also gives me sleep paralysis ( something I haven't really dealt with for years)
I have ptsd from overdosing and temporarily dying from benadryl It's so messed up. I haven't even had a single night without a nightmare seeing the same things again, and it's been almost a decade since I od'd Also, brain damage
My best friend lost her eyesight for 4 days after trying something that grows in Forrest because it's natural what could go wrong like :o I read into this doctor's and professional herbalists say you will go blind!!" There’s a disturbing amount of s/h and suicide stuff on tiktok, absolutely no trigger warning or heads up, and it’s really triggering for a lot of people, including me
sophia arthur honestly as someone who is barely able to get by with this problem it sends me back every time i see posts like that. We need a warning for type of stuff :/ its common decency
Yep that's definitely true, I feel also triggered by most videos that deal with this stuff. Thankfully I've found an app called CalmHarm that gives you plenty of different options to calm down when you are either feeling triggered or have urges. They have more apps relating to mental health that (at least for me) work really well! Stay safe, lots of love.
on a really bad day i saw a tik tok that said nothing matters no one matters and that was so terrible for me that i had an panic attack because i kept thinking about it
This video hasn't even been out for an hour there's already multiple comments calling her a buzzkill. Maybe watch the whole video first? She has some very good points here if you just take the time to listen. Don't just dismiss an argument because it isn't what you want to hear.
thank you. I was fully anticipating negative comments because generally people like drugs, but I really tried to present the actual issue, it’s not about “drugs are bad don’t do them” it’s don’t promote casual drug use to minors or teach children how to do dangerous household drugs etc. I’m glad there are people like you that understand my perspective because I definitely think this will be a controversial video!
@@sarahhawkinson There is no reason for this to be "controversial" Youre speaking common sense here. Everyone who is shouting negative stuff in the comments is trying to write off safety because fUn, which wont end fun

I'm generally pretty liberal and harm reductionist when it comes to drug use, but that's exactly why I don't like this whole culture- you cannot reduce harm if you're not being honest with informing people about what risks they're taking. I'm not going to pretend I'm straight edge, but I'm an adult who knows what the risks are and what risks I am/aren't willing to take (there's plenty of things I absolutely will not take or do because I know it's beyond the risk I want to take and/or I would risk others by doing that). That's absolutely not the same as this kind of content, and I don't think you're overreacting here.
I agree on everything but I'm not sure about the whole "kids are more exposed to peer pressure and more incited to try drugs beacuse of tiktok". It's not that I don't think they are, I just don't think they are MORE exposed than before. I had enough peer pressure even before social media existed and I think drugs have always been glamorized in youth culture. Yes, Internet defenetly helped, but to me its just an expasion of the same "school backyard where the cool kids go get high" type of environment, and I don't think tiktok in particular changed much, if anything it just brought the issue to the surface. I mean if you wanna see how internet can glamorize drugs just go on tumblr, that existed well before tiktok. In conclusion, I don't think this is ok but it is not a new issue, nor I think kids will be more prone to take drugs because of tiktok. Teens are going to hurt themselves anyway, as they did when vine was popular (cinnamon challenge) or when tumblr was. It's just what kids do. I think we're addressing the problem the wrong way around, suppressing this videos won't make much change, they will just move somewhere else. I don't know if I'm explaning myself, I apologize, English is not my first language.
Federica I do think tik tok could play a role in making kids more likely to use drugs. I think there’s a big difference between Tik Tok and the peer pressure we all experienced growing up. Most of us were teens, or at least in middle school, by the time we experienced that What really concerns me about this content on tik tok is all the very young children that use that app, and therefore are being exposed to these irresponsible attitudes about drugs long before they’re exposed to any knowledge of the risks. For most of us who are a little older, our first exposure to the idea of drugs was being told not to do them. Before we were exposed to peer pressure we were primed to at least understand that there were risks involved. Even though I don’t think the education I got about drugs was good education, at LEAST I was told that there were risks before I experienced any pressure to try drugs. I was already primed with that understanding when I was first introduced to anyone glamorizing them. And even if kids are educated on the risks first, it still makes a difference that they are so young. The actions of the people you look up to (which let’s be real, most of these little kids do look up to the people they follow on Tik tok) have a lot bigger of an impact on your development when you’re 8 than when you’re 14. These kids are at an age where they’re sooo impressionable and that’s really concerning to me.
yes! like im against the "war on drugs" and all that, but we need to educate ppl. i was in a circle that glorified drug use in my teens, and ended up overdosing at 16 and i really feel like my brain just doesnt work the same anymore. i used to be considered "gifted" as a kid bc of my autism, but now i cant do basic math and i struggle to read anything longer than a few paragraphs. it takes twice as much effort to think about anything. i had freakish memory before, and now i cant remember if i remembered to brush my teeth this morning. i lose shit alllll the time bc i cant remember where i put it 5 seconds ago. tripping balls is fun and all, but its not worth it. just stick to weed if you must get high, and you still need to do research before you do that. these type of tiktoks do way more harm than the people posting them realize!!
i still think the motto should be drugs are dangerous but theyre fun. they have consequences despite maybe making you feel good. do research about everything you put into your body. because if you just say dont do drugs nobodys gonna listen. i never did and i became a heroin addict
i was addicted to benadryl for almost a year when i was in sophomore year, and it culminated in me failing all of my classes, and overdosing on cough syrup at school. benadryl made me get very high, hallucinate (i still do sometimes and im sober) and gave me a goldfish memory. i was taking up to 15-20 a day at its worst, and the scariest thing was that when i was taking that much it was hardly doing anything to me because my tolerance was so high. i have REALLY bad short and long-term memory loss now, i probably have heart issues (i was addictied to stimulants too) and i can barely remember 3 years of my life due to drugs. my later teenager years were almost completely lost to drugs and it changed the course my life. im good now, but the fact that this is a trend is terrifying
people could be spreading good messages like "hey, people who have addictions aren't all bad people, addiction is a disease and they need help!" but instead they're like "yay!!! drugs!!! ruining people's lives and ruining families!!" like, dude. are you fucking kidding me
This!!! I don’t think people understand how harmful drug addictions really are, coming from someone who has lost both parents from drug addictions and it’s upsetting watching people promote it to kids
@@ghostlybf3785 agreed. My dad ruined his entire fucking life because of alcoholism. And that's alcohol, let alone "hard" drugs. He started drinking when he was 12 because he had older siblings and thought it was cool, and so to see people promoting drugs to an extremely young audience just makes me want to sit them in front of him and make them listen to what their actions could do not only to themselves but to the people who look up to them. It's not a joke and it's not "ok boomer", it's a serious problem.
Homemade drugs sounds absolutely terrifying- including alcohol!! How are people regulating dosage? They're not. Homemade alcohol can lead to side effects like blindness and brain damage. As far as hallucinogenics: young people might not yet be aware of underlying mental health conditions that can be triggered early by drugs (including cannabis). That can leave people with week long or longer horrific trips that are just straight up psychosis. It can trigger Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder that could have otherwise layed dormant.
When I was in a day clinic(one of those where you go back home in the afternoon) for my own mental health there were two people around my age that had smoked way too much weed and yes that triggered their until then undiagnosed and underlying mental illnesses. One got psychosis, still has that almost 10 years later now and another girl triggered her schizophrenia with it. Never had any symptoms before. Had to quit her university degree and only recently has started up again. Not everyone gets that from smoking weed and I'm not demonizing it in general but it can gick you up and you only know for sure when it's already too late pretty much. One of the reasons why I would personally not smoke weed because I already have issues and who knows if there is more in my DNA waiting to be triggered.
@@DieAlteistwiederda I had a similar experience. Cannabis isn't an inherently dangerous drug *in most cases* but knowledge about the potential risks that exist isn't common enough. I knew someone who's "bad trip" was not sleeping for 5 days leading to an extreme psychotic episode and 5 weeks in a psych ward (3 of which were in isolation because they were a risk to themselves and others). Waiting to experiment is important for more than just the sake of being an adult. There are actual tangible reasons why you should wait, research and then wait some more.
And they’re promoting it to LITERAL CHILDREN. Kids finding these horrible videos and trying it out because they found people abusing achohol in media could kill them, it it probably already has.
keeahrah r My younger sister was peer pressured by older people around her to smoke with them. Now she has bad derealisation and ptsd from the trip. She’s not even 16, and now has to struggle with that for the rest of her life. All drugs have potential to be dangerous. I know I’ll never touch weed bc I really do fear psychotic features being uncovered with smoking it. I’ve drank alcohol but that’s it, and that was with people I trusted and know we could all be comfortable and aware of ourselves, and it was fun.
A strong brownie triggered like a week long Really Bad dpdr episode with a fun little side of delusions + intrusive thoughts and potentially ongoing bipolar. I'd tried it a couple times before but it was the first time I'd done it properly. It hasn't ruined my life or anything but the end result definitely wasn't great 😂 this was as an adult, I don't want to know what would have happened if I'd been 15 at the time
As someone who's come out of drug addiction, they can but they can't. They don't think it matters , or even if they are aware it's not good for them they feel like they need it because it 'helps' even when it gets to the point it's obvious it's not doing anything good they had a dependency. It makes you delusional
the widely accepted promotion of drug use on a platform literally used by millions of underaged people literally seems like a dystopian nightmare. it’s unbelievable. going on tik tok can literally be like scrolling though an endless gallery of underage drug use.
This trend is horrifying. I love how you stated that you’re trip will depend on your mental state, it’s true. I’ve heard stories from friends about how teens in my town have really bad trips that leave them petrified of doing it again. Not only that but having a bad trip can lead you to have overwhelming suicidal thoughts, and will deteriorate your mental health. If people do want to do drugs at least have the decency to educate themselves on what it is and it’s long term effects.
100%! i actually had a bad trip after crossfading with friends to curb anxiety, and the consequential panic attack gave me derealisation symptoms for MONTHS. it ruined my mental health, and i'd do anything just to go back in time and not do it
I’ve been watching hallucinating on shrooms videos because I want to see what it’s like to hallucinate and do it before I’m no longer a teenager. Turning 20 next month
I started doing drugs when I was 16, starting with abusing prescriptions and doing cocaine by 17, then going to rehab at 18. There isn't a "fun" and "cool" way to do drugs, there isn't a safe way, no matter what drug you use/abuse, even if it's not an actual drug, like the nutmeg for example. The glorifying of drugs/the normalization of them, like saying you can get high off spices and such, only perpetuates that drugs are a fun time with no consequences. Six months ago I had a seizure in my home alone from abusing pills, and I would hate to see some kid get fucked up by starting with, let's say nutmeg, then going onto fucking pills that are usually pretty easy to get if you know what to do and where to look.
Maggie Johnston ofc there is fun in drugs, it all depends on the way you use it and if you do it responsibly. Your experience is valid but shouldn't invalidate other people's experiences
I'm sorry you had that experience but as someone who hasn't done any dangerous hard drugs like cocaine i know there ARE safe ways of doing drugs, but i've only done cannabis, shrooms and mdma, none of which can (directly) lead to death. It's all about knowing the risks, correct dosage and doing them responsibly. I'm from a country where several different drugs are legal and so here it's more education focused and there's even places where you can get your drugs tested to ensure that they're safe. I personally am all for drug education and making sure only adults take them.
There are definitely safe ways to do drugs. Sorry you had to go through that, though, if drugs were destigmatized maybe people with underlying issues (genetic or psychological predisposition to addiction, schizophrenia, anxiety, etc) would be able to be informed about serious effects before it was too late.
Same kinda story with me. Been doing drugs since early teens, I’m 18 now and done almost everything. I’m an alcoholic, I’ve been rushed to the hospital after blacking out and vomiting all over myself in public. Drugs are fun, but we can’t be promoting them like this. They ruin your life and who you used to be
It's worth mentioning that while MOST homemade booze is ok, sometimes it gets screwey, contaminated, or ferments too long and can give you methanol poisoning. Which is usually not fatal if treated, but does cause irreversible blindness. Just . . . wait until you're legal and can afford appropriate equipment before you make spicy beverages.
Somebody told me that kids need more drug education. Simply telling kids “don’t do drugs” barely does anything for them because the human brain doesn’t really react to what you shouldn’t do, your brain is deaf to words like “dont”. Teens also get curious and bored and end up trying something like this. We need to educate people on the WHY
years ago there was this trend in my town where 10 to 15 year old kids chocked themselves to get "high". so obviously they started doing it more and more because they wanted to get even higher i guess and then a bunch if kids died. and they did this as challenges in school so all schools had to send out letters to parents to make sure their kids never have bruises on their neck. isnt that just crazy?
The choking game. Very VERY dangerous. There was a book and movie of that book made called.... The Choking Game that showed just what it can do to you and how dangerous it is.
Straight tiktok is wild. I always forget there’s anything on there but lesbians that like to crochet. I guess it’s true what they say about your fyp being tailored to you.
I got bored during quarantine so I downloaded tik tok and I'm genuinely apalled by the glamorization of drug use, bad coping mechanisms, and mental illnesses, especially eating disorders. I mean I know everyone copes differently with things, but there are still so many impressionable people on there so I really don't understand how people can be this irresponsible
@@smidgen I think tiktok is the "modern" equivalent of tumblr (since the only people still using tumblr are people who've been there for ages lol). The type of teens who would've had tumblr blogs 6 years ago, had they been old enough, are now using tiktok for the same kind of purpose. And the people who would've never experienced tumblr anyways are still eating that type of content up on tiktok, unfortunately.
Can you please make a video on all the tiktoks with “ADHD check” and how it misrepresents how it actually is? Because on every video I’ve seen with that sound and hashtag, everyone in the comments are filled with people who all of a sudden think they have it. Or you could instead make a video on ADHD (and ADD) to clear up a lot of misinformation and stereotypes people have and that it is a lot more than having a lot of energy. Thanks!
along with this also those videos that say “things people with adhd/BPD etc do” because there’s so much misrepresentation and people self diagnosing in the comments and it awful
YES OMG i have adhd and people like to think it’s some fun quirky thing and ITS NOT i’d be so much further in life if i didn’t have it and it’s not a fucking quirk it’s literally debilitating
I don’t know why kids these days think it’s “cool” to have some sort of mental health issues, mental illness or condition, even other conditions, illnesses, or diseases that aren’t mental health related?!? It’s actually really fucked up and something is seriously wrong w these kids who do this and think this way!! It’s incredibly insulting to those of us who do have any illnesses, conditions, diseases, etc, whether they’re mental health related or not, it’s also belittling and demeaning. This whole generation just loves to self diagnose and thrives off of it, again, something is seriously wrong w them!! 🤦🏼♀️
“I did acid once last year and I’m fine” OKAY cool beans. I did acid regularly for _years_ and then once I went a bit too high and couldn’t sleep for 2 days & literally forgot how to speak. It’s not a fucking joke. (Ex addict).
@Alice Herrera Yeah mate I did countless trips from 15 - 17 literally 40 - 50 times. 4 Times a week a few of the weeks. I now despise psychedelics and the cult like following of it.
also, not sure you guys know this, but apparently it is in tik tok’s terms and conditions that they may turn on the camera on your cellphone at random times.
Ye this happened to me a few times like I would go to take a vid and it said another app was using the camera so I would close tik tok and it would work so glad I deleted it
I completely agree with you Sarah, I’ve lost so many friends to drugs just because they didn’t know their limits and they lost their lives for it. I hate attending the funerals and seeing such a huge affect it has on people. I don’t want other people to go through what I have. This content needs to be better monitored because it’s taking lives of children who just simply didn’t know how, or their limits or the consequences to drugs.
I finally deleted tik tok it was constantly pushing my own biases due to the algorithm and was making me extremely political. It was scary. And I honestly don’t think kids should be on that site. It’s honestly bad for the mind. I remember a girl in my humanities class saying “Tik Tok defines our generational” and honestly it really shouldn’t. We shouldn’t be glamorizing a site that is both toxic and bias pushing to literal kids. That’s like saying your boomer grandmas with a Facebook addiction should be proud of her Facebook addiction.
Do these people not know how nutmeg can literally kill you? It isn't an "amazing" trip of fantasy, it's a horrifying and dreadful visual of almost everything you hate. It's like nobody learned from the Cinnamon Challenge
Ive done acid less than 10 times, each time waiting months in between tabs, and even i get mild flashbacks on occasion without warning. Also DMT is more severe than acid, so teaching kids to make it is seriously MESSED up.
Loved how you pointed out maybe you don't have the added perspective because you were never really interested. Quality information in a kind and respectfully manner is too hard to find
This reminds me of this small subset of tumblr in the mid 2010s that was centered around glorifying herion and other hard drugs, but with an even younger audience. The nutmeg one is especially concerning because it can literally kill you.
From personal experience: Please, educate your children and teens about drugs (speaking of drugs like alcohol/weed) instead of trying to scare them!!! Discuss reasons why people are taking them, what the positive and especially the negative effects are, in what mood you should be in, what amounts are dangerous and how to responsibly use them. Don't straight up forbid it, they will most likely do it anyways, so better educate them as much as possible and teach them a responsible approach to drugs!
Tripping on edibles is no joke, the first time I took one was actually during school and I foolishly thought that it wouldn't do much but it for sure felt like I was on acid. Every sound echoed, I didn't feel in control of some of my actions but I was aware enough to be worried and anxious about acting too oddly. It was horrible and taking that edible was probably the worst decision I ever made.
Oh wow you were at school thats scary! My experience was pretty awful but I was at home, I just felt like I was having an hours and hours long panic attack and dissociated horribly. Wouldn't recommend to literally anyone.
I took too much and had a huge fucking panic attack and thought i would die. I wasnt aware of the paranoia that comes with it...because i do have mild paranoid thoughts sober....so the edible made it worse. I could hear nothing and all the noise I could hear was the singing bowls when you meditate. Will never do that again
Some Sort of Content first time I ever ate an edible was at school too😂 I didn’t expect it to mess me up like it did but luckily it was last period. You live and you learn lol
seventhseance Same! It was one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had. I had a panic attack and heart palpitations. The world was spinning, I dissociated, and my body seized up like every muscle was tense. Like you, I thought I had this feeling of extreme dread and thought I was gunna die... Well atleast it scared me enough to not touch other substances because I don’t know how I’ll react.
As a former addict ( young addict ) I’ve been seeing this on tiktok also. It is shocking to me seeing teens/kids using hardcore drugs. I was one of them and I know what it can do and how dangerous it is. It us shocking to me these videos are out there... addiction is no joke. Granted not everyone get’s addicted but noone knows before using it won’t be them.
As I see it this isn't an overreaction, but rather a genuine concern focusing on mental health, how can this affect a young audience that hasn't develop such a strong criteria influencing (most of the time negatively because of the lack of information) their believes towards drug use (among other topics that shouldn't be talked about without even a trigger warning)
I am a kid/teen myself and I would never even think about doing drugs. I know it's harmful and has lasting effects. My stepfather used to sell drugs and I always got so mad because it's not right! Drugs can easily ruin someone's life if they get addicted to them.
I’ve done ac*d and I smoke marijuana but that boy looked 14. Before I did ac*d I researched it heavily, I made sure I was in a safe and controlled environment with people I completely trusted and I knew would help me out if things went bad and I was in a healthy mindset when going into it, it’s okay to do certain drugs in moderation and in safe environments when you’re old enough to do so (acid and shrooms have both been used in therapy and there have been proven benefits of using both in moderation and controlled environments, NOT for teens at parties or school trips)
I remember when I was 14 I tried weed for the first time. I was not very educated on it and didn’t know that you had the potential to panic and have a really bad experience. Since I knew you couldn’t overdose, I smoked about a gram for my first time (and definitely my last). The fear and panic I felt was truly traumatizing. I never want to experience that again.
I remember a few years ago there was a teenager in the UK who tried using nutmeg to get high and as a result had a heart attack and sadly died, I think he was only around 14 :/
thank you for this. anyone who comments "ok boomer" is an ignorant person who doesn't understand the long term effects of these drugs. They may be homemade, but it sure as hell does not mean that it won't affect you and the people around you's lives. you have earned my respect and a new subscriber.
as someone who does a lot of drugs, this trend online doesn't surprise me and i think the more people tell them not to do drugs, the more they will want to do it. i did acid with my friends and it was a terrifying experience because everyone apart form me had a bad trip. we had to pull people of the roof, i was almost stabbed because someone saw eyes on the wall and started to stab and cut the wall and then turned on the rest of us. it was a nightmare.
I agree. I’m a drug user just pit and alcohol and I think it’s important to just teach them all the bad side affects that can happen in a way that isn’t belittling. That’s how I was explained and I ended up waiting until college at least. Kids will want to do it at some point but it’s important to make sure they know how to stay safe, and while I would NOT recommend anything to anyone under 18 you can’t try to control them
I believe in around late october of last year, I made the decision to delete tik tok. It was keeping me from getting my homework done, I started feeling extremely insecure by all the pretty boys and girls you always see on the for you page, and it made me feel horrible. It triggered a depressive episode that lasted months and I ended up failing almost every class last semester. I never realized how it affected me until later on, so once I finally realized, I deleted it. My little sister is very impressionable, and uses tik tok everyday, and is on it allll the time. she wont get off her phone to walk from the car to the house if she's making a tik tok or scrolling through the fyp. I plan to talk to her eventually, and my mom, about possibly deleting it from her phone all together instead of limiting her use.
I didn't even know this stuff was on Tiktok! So many of the kids I tutor at my workplace who are as young as 8 have Tiktok and the fact that they could have access to these things makes me sick :(
I've tried a hallucinogen, it is legal where I used it, and I had an extremely scary bad trip even though I wasn't in a bad mental state in that moment. It was a very traumatic experience for me. It has been years and ever since then I occasionally hallucinate when I am really stressed and it only started after I took it. Just because you aren't negatively affected by it doesn't mean no one is. It is extremely irresponsible for someone to downplay its possible negative effects on the brain, it just blows my mind how careless people are.
Exactly this- I feel like a lot of teenagers don’t consider the risks of different drugs, and unless you know what to do, a bad trip can be extremely damaging. Without the proper education and regulation of seemingly “fun” drugs, they can end up dangerous/damaging.
As someone who's in the same age group as these people, I've always felt like an outlier because of my thought process regarding drug culture. It baffles me that people still encourage it because most of our generation is already reliant on drugs. Now there's a subcategory of DIY alcohol/drug tutorials? It's ridiculous... Just let your brain develop ffs :/
@@Grimmistired Exactly. I can understand if you use it as a coping mechanism but some people make it abundantly clear that they do it just because they can or it's "fun".
DIY drugs/alcohol have always been a thing, i easily found it here on UA-cam when i was experimenting with drugs. It’s just more viral now because of tik tok.
As someone who is also a part of this age group, it’s not an us thing. It’s a young people thing. In fact, compared to previous generations, we are pretty boring. The only drugs that millennials/early gen z abuse more than either baby boomers and/or gen x did are painkillers, which is a crisis right now largely due to the irresponsibility of doctors, not drug users
i wouldn’t even do dumb stuff like sniff sharpies as a child because i was so afraid of the uncertainty of how it would affect me. it’s so scary to think of kids having access to all of this, especially at a time where they’re stuck at home and bored :(
As someone who has done drugs at a young age who also has quite a few followers on TikTok (26k). I never post about drugs, I know how damaging it was to me to have my older sister give me free access to so many drugs. She literally taught me out to make a bong out of a bottle at 13. My use of drugs has had a noticeable effect on my mental health causing me to dissociate and have a lot of anxiety. I decided to centre my TikTok account around skateboarding and drawing which are two things that have helped with my anxiety and I want to encourage other young people especially girls to do these same activities.
I’d love to see a vid discussing the bdsm content on tiktok. I’m pro kink pro bdsm but it terrifies me some of the stuff put out there by literally children and the misinformation surrounding a really serious and complex topic
Yes! I think BDSM should only be in 18+ spaces as minors should not be involved in kink. I also feel like those of age exploring BDSM are getting misinformation. Like I have seen videos teaching bad techniques on bondage and asphyxiation that could physically harm or endanger a person. Also videos glorifying abuse as BDSM when that is not the case. There is a lot of unreliable information out there that can harm many people.
Hannah Noel, I agree, I’m seventeen and I can definitely see why some people would want me to wait a few months before watching educational videos on bdsm. However, there’s no argument with anyone under fifteen watching it
Oh my god watching and learning about bdsm when I was in my teens was my personal worst mistake and it's like it fucked me mentally I'm 20 and now I am going to therapy to help with my online trauma
Exposing drugs and their use to actual children by showing how much "fun" it is to take them is not overreacting. I say that being 18 years old. This is a matter that should be a lot more talked about and I'm glad that finally someone had the guts to shed some light on it.
1. This trend is terrifying 🤦♀️ I can’t imagine what this exposer and normalization of drug use is going to do for young users of tiktok... 2. (Unrelated) your hair looks so shiny, like damn 🤩
Tiktok is absolutely exhausting me lately. There have been so many videos of kids exploiting their dead/disabled relatives for clout and it just rubs me such the wrong way.
When the diy drug and ‘witchcraft’ tiktok communities come together it’s even worse 😩 like you said, just because it’s natural doesn’t make it safe. I’ve seen tutorials of mixing supposed natural drug ingredients and then ingesting them, sold to the viewer as a spell and in many cases to honor a deity or something, which baby witches eat up. It’s glorified to the next level, and what’s worse is the tiktok ‘witchcraft’ community is very focused on aesthetics so the tutorials are all naturey, pretty, and overall attractive looking even though I’m sure the ‘highs’ or whatever from these concoctions are terrible. (Also I say ‘witchcraft’ because most of the people in it aren’t doing actual witchcraft at all but passing it off as if it is) -A practicing witch who smokes homemade herbal cigs but actually does their research!
Yup! I was scrolling in the comments looking for this. Love also when they say “natural herbs to smoke to get you high or hallucinate” and they don’t talk about risks, how to get it safely, dosage, side effects, etc. then you have a bunch of baby witches picking herbs and flowers covered in pesticides, dog pee, etc smoking that and getting violently sick.
Maya Saya I’m an actual practicing pagan witch and it is sooooo annoying seeing these “witches” saying shit about their deities eating salad with them or bs like that. It makes the entire religion look like a joke
this is absolutely true. i hate how drugs have been so romanticized and glorified, when those people aren’t aware of the horrible things those substances do to the consumers and their families.
People really underestimate how easy it is to get a bad trip. Once after taking a hallucinogen I heard a firework and I really think I was really close to both a heart attack and an anxiety episode. Not gonna say "don't do drugs kids" but be aware of these very real consequences.
I saw this person on TikTok that was selling/showing off their drugs. Like literal drugs, (ex: cocaine, pot, etc) and he would like show you how to hide them/bake them into stuff. I reported him and TikTok said they were too busy to cater to the request.
Uh, the LD50 dose is very close to the "effective dose" for almost everyone if not lower than the dose you would need to experience an effect. You can very easily end up an already overwhelmed emergency room. DON'T DO THIS.
its real please be smart i am 14 i have taken some stuff... i was doing it from time to time. so was my best friend. she is dead now. because of one small mistake. she is gone. forever. her mother is broken everyone is. all for some "fun"
Making your own alcohol is a great way to go blind or die. We had some teens break into someone’s dad’s homebrew before it was ready and the son (the main instigator) did die. Brewing alcohol is a serious commitment that requires a ton of education and the proper ingredients.
Hey, 'ket' actually does mean something in another language! It's basically the Brussels' dialect way of saying 'dude' :) Also, tiktok might share a lot of drug videos, but it also showed me the straight edge community. I've been straight edge for over 2 months now and it's great!
@@koba2348 Hi! while straight edge is partly about being sober, it's also very music based. It's a subgroup of punk that abstains from drugs, alcohol and smoking. I was already super into punk but really liked staight-edge music, and I don't like alcohol and I'm terrified of drug due to family history. I understand that being a part of the subculture isn't for everyone, but I like it a lot :)
Disclaimer i used to abuse hallucinogens i have since stopped. But yes your mindset when you use definitely effects your "trip". The first time i used i was in physical pain. And it caused me to feel like i was melting. It was not fun i sobbed in my friends lap for an hour. Please dont do drugs.
I am someone who has an addictive personality, and as a teen I would have LOVED tutorials like this online. At the time (I'm 23 now) I didn't care enough to do my own research, but if it was presented in a form like Tik Tok I PROMISE you I would have tried these things for a rush. things like benadryl and nutmeg are not psychedelics or hallucinogens theyre something called deliriants which cause nothing but discomfort and terror.
honestly, that's just my natural state, i can't imagine wanting to enhance that at all.
I ODed on Benadryl and I had horrible hallucinations. But they were all terrifying and I felt paranoid as fuck. I’m not a chemist but that was just my experience
I OD’d in Benadryl and it was the absolute worst experience of my life. Everything itched and I threw up so much
As someone who purposefully OD'd on benadryl to see if it'd get me high, it was horrendous. I felt like I was dying! I had awful hallucinations of spiders and just felt like my body was shutting down, it wasn't, i was okay but I was worried I wouldn't survive.

hi, I do not know you.
TW: hi just here to tell my story to someone who is impressionable watching this who got the bright idea to take benadryl- DO NOT. i tried to commit suicide using benadryl not knowing the effects it has on the brain. considering the state i was in its no surprise the things i saw led to long lasting effects, some of which include:
-having panic attacks when taking ANY pill
-freezing up when i see shadows
-having my heart drop into my stomach when someone mentions benadryl/i see a bottle
it ISNT fun. i was bent over the toilet vomiting my guts out. i couldn’t tell if my mom was really there with me or if i was dead. i threw up in my moms car on the way to the emergency room where they told me i very well could have died due to my age. it’s not a fun quirky drug to use, it gives you anxiety. i remember falling asleep in the hospital and i thought an episode of greys anatomy was playing while i was falling asleep when i’m actuality i was in pitch black darkness in a room with no tv. you hear voices, you feel spiders crawling all over you, you see things move towards you as if they’re attacking you. i am literally scarred for life, i can’t get the image out of my head of me on my way to the hospital, looking in the side mirror of my moms car with vomit dripping down my chin. you know that scene in the fault in our stars where gus is at the gas station and his tube is infected? yeah it was like that but so much scarier because I was the one in danger. i will never be the same.
if you are reading this and are even considering doing benadryl, i hope my story could talk you out of it. please, take care of your body and find happiness elsewhere, you don’t need drugs to escape or to have fun. god bless you 🥺🥺❤️
Oh my gosh, wow.

Also they don't know what the alcohol content will be in what they make so it could be way stronger than they realize and cause them to OD
@@SianChristina let’s be honest, it’s not super hard to get alcohol. The legal age is 18 where I live but I know people who started getting drunk when they were only 13 (I was around 14.5 when I first got drunk but looking back at it I was too young)
the legal age used to be 16 for beers and 18 for harder drinks.
(Basically, imagine having sleep paralysis hallucinations on purpose.)

Borky Bork no, my sources are other people talking about it!! My sources on both the Benadryl and nutmeg descriptions were largely from informative posts I’ve read, although the nutmeg one also came partially from my dad
Yeah, there’s a reason these things aren’t a “thing”
I have pretty awful allergies in spring and fall, I never take benadryl about 6 hour before I go to bed. It makes my night terrors so much worse, and it also gives me sleep paralysis ( something I haven't really dealt with for years)

Agreed
i still think the motto should be drugs are dangerous but theyre fun. they have consequences despite maybe making you feel good. do research about everything you put into your body. because if you just say dont do drugs nobodys gonna listen. i never did and i became a heroin addict
i was addicted to benadryl for almost a year when i was in sophomore year, and it culminated in me failing all of my classes, and overdosing on cough syrup at school. benadryl made me get very high, hallucinate (i still do sometimes and im sober) and gave me a goldfish memory. i was taking up to 15-20 a day at its worst, and the scariest thing was that when i was taking that much it was hardly doing anything to me because my tolerance was so high. i have REALLY bad short and long-term memory loss now, i probably have heart issues (i was addictied to stimulants too) and i can barely remember 3 years of my life due to drugs. my later teenager years were almost completely lost to drugs and it changed the course my life. im good now, but the fact that this is a trend is terrifying
i’m screaming the first time your cat meowed i thought you had a child
NEVER apologize for kitties 🥺
people could be spreading good messages like "hey, people who have addictions aren't all bad people, addiction is a disease and they need help!" but instead they're like "yay!!! drugs!!! ruining people's lives and ruining families!!" like, dude. are you fucking kidding me
drusilla there's actually a lot of people on tiktok taking about those subjects. This is just a stupid trend that they did for clout.
@@Athena-ft1lv i bet there are, i'm just talking about this one specifically
unfortunately, like with everything, there's people with good and bad intentions doing good and bad things
It hasn't ruined my life or anything but the end result definitely wasn't great 😂 this was as an adult, I don't want to know what would have happened if I'd been 15 at the time
it’s hard to discuss this too cause drug users get so defensive like can y’all be realistic ????
They literally cannot that's probably why they use in the first place

I had a bad trip on opioids and it caused me anxiety and suicidal thoughts for MONTHS I’ll never do it again haha

Maggie Johnston I don’t know if you’re clean right now, or are still struggling, but I just want to say that I’m so proud of you ❤️
Maggie Johnston ofc there is fun in drugs, it all depends on the way you use it and if you do it responsibly.
They ruin your life and who you used to be
Also the wrong dose of nutmeg can cause death like wtfffff stop doing that kids and everyone in general
Same with most types of drugs. They are trying to get high. It's scary!
AnnaDaA kids are so stupid
My friends older brother died from this game. So unnecessary and heartbreaking people talk each other into it.
The choking game. Very VERY dangerous. There was a book and movie of that book made called.... The Choking Game that showed just what it can do to you and how dangerous it is.
I think people did that in my school at one point. I don’t remember if any one died, luckily, but letters were send out too
AnnaDaA criminal minds did an episode on the choking game! Very interesting and scary.

I hate attending the funerals and seeing such a huge affect it has on people. I don’t want other people to go through what I have.

@Marina Mansfield How is it apathetic and not ignorant?
as someone who does a lot of drugs, this trend online doesn't surprise me and i think the more people tell them not to do drugs, the more they will want to do it. i did acid with my friends and it was a terrifying experience because everyone apart form me had a bad trip. we had to pull people of the roof, i was almost stabbed because someone saw eyes on the wall and started to stab and cut the wall and then turned on the rest of us. it was a nightmare.
Still there is no reason why they should encourage young people to do drugs like they do
I agree. I’m a drug user just pit and alcohol and I think it’s important to just teach them all the bad side affects that can happen in a way that isn’t belittling. That’s how I was explained and I ended up waiting until college at least. Kids will want to do it at some point but it’s important to make sure they know how to stay safe, and while I would NOT recommend anything to anyone under 18 you can’t try to control them
oh man that must have been a huge dosage
I plan to talk to her eventually, and my mom, about possibly deleting it from her phone all together instead of limiting her use.
don’t forget how tiktok stated that they remove LGBTQ, fat, and disability content to avoid “bullying” of the poster.
-Parachutes- this literally broke my heart ngl I’m so sorry

Exactly this- I feel like a lot of teenagers don’t consider the risks of different drugs, and unless you know what to do, a bad trip can be extremely damaging. Without the proper education and regulation of seemingly “fun” drugs, they can end up dangerous/damaging.
Lots of people don't know that hallucinogenics can cause Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder which is a dangerous scary illness
I watched a bdsm video on UA-cam and saw a kid in the comments. Makes me uncomfortable

Exposing drugs and their use to actual children by showing how much "fun" it is to take them is not overreacting. I say that being 18 years old. This is a matter that should be a lot more talked about and I'm glad that finally someone had the guts to shed some light on it.

Omg how cringey and pathetic.what losers. Sounds like they're trying waaay too hard.
Isabela Vieira exactly!! Thank you
Maya Saya I’m an actual practicing pagan witch and it is sooooo annoying seeing these “witches” saying shit about their deities eating salad with them or bs like that. It makes the entire religion look like a joke
Meg B that's interesting. Didn't know there were such things as real witches. So what do you worship or pray to then? Like the earth/elements?
It's so refreshing to see someone with a large platform like you encourage responsibility and caution when it comes to alcohol and drugs. Thank you.
this is absolutely true. i hate how drugs have been so romanticized and glorified, when those people aren’t aware of the horrible things those substances do to the consumers and their families.
I made alcohol as a kid. I'm 29 now and I'm an alcoholic. I only sobered up when my liver was about to fail. Food for thought 😅
Wtf I feel like this is definitely the most serious one, apart from the eating disorder video this isn't good
Yeah, it's definitely as serious as the eating disorder video, and I'm not sure which is worse... I'm just appalled that people actually post these
kitty in background is always *chef's kiss*
I’ve never did recreational drugs but I think it’s because I was a sick child that always had meds forced on me. It’s different when it’s not a choice
Edibles are fine, but I see why a kid stumbling across the video is bad
Blazeit Ice Yeah, They’re fine just not on a kids app lol
@@starryvampyre but its not actually a kids app it's for 14 and up so teenagers and kids just go onto it without permission
Uh, the LD50 dose is very close to the "effective dose" for almost everyone if not lower than the dose you would need to experience an effect. You can very easily end up an already overwhelmed emergency room. DON'T DO THIS.
Stuff like this scares me because I have a lot of younger cousins who are highly impressionable to this kind of stuff.
its real please be smart i am 14 i have taken some stuff... i was doing it from time to time. so was my best friend. she is dead now. because of one small mistake. she is gone. forever. her mother is broken everyone is. all for some "fun"
I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope your grieving journey is easier than most. 💕
Making your own alcohol is a great way to go blind or die. We had some teens break into someone’s dad’s homebrew before it was ready and the son (the main instigator) did die. Brewing alcohol is a serious commitment that requires a ton of education and the proper ingredients.
you should do something about the obsession with nicotine, im almost 5? monthes clean from vaping and tik tok is my biggest trigger
As someone who doesn’t use TikTok I’m always shocked by this - loving these type of videos
Hey, 'ket' actually does mean something in another language! It's basically the Brussels' dialect way of saying 'dude' :)
Also, tiktok might share a lot of drug videos, but it also showed me the straight edge community. I've been straight edge for over 2 months now and it's great!
Lmfao "straight edge", you're either sober or you're not, it doesn't need to be a niche lifestyle
@@blue-and-blauw man that sounds fucking awful
Disclaimer i used to abuse hallucinogens i have since stopped. But yes your mindset when you use definitely effects your "trip". The first time i used i was in physical pain. And it caused me to feel like i was melting. It was not fun i sobbed in my friends lap for an hour. Please dont do drugs.
I am someone who has an addictive personality, and as a teen I would have LOVED tutorials like this online. At the time (I'm 23 now) I didn't care enough to do my own research, but if it was presented in a form like Tik Tok I PROMISE you I would have tried these things for a rush. Thank you so much for making this video.
