"If you want your employee to have ownership mentality, its like you are at Disney kingdom, you expect the Giraffe at the cell to care about the front grate ticket sale. The TRUTH is employees are employees!"

***** Thank you Dan, I gained so much from this set of videos. I loved your analogy about Animal Kingdom and employees sharing the same ownership mentality. I really respect what your doing for us entrepreneurs out there as well. Love the videos keep them coming

The happiness myth makes so much sense. The guy getting the free ride to work is the same as selling someone a cheap product. There's no appreciation because it costs next to nothing. AHA!

Youre such a blessing to me Dan. I learn practical application from you applying making rich principles not just in doing business but on advancing the gospel of Christ. God gave you wisdom to be a blessing to others. Thank you😊

I sum it up to making it about what the employee wants or what they can gain rather than forcing them to sacrifice for the company. I was in charge of a lot of people and I had no room for pay raises or bonuses. I told them that I could not guarantee any promotions or pay raises or bonuses at all. It was out of my hands. I did tell them that I would teach and help them get better at what they do and if the company could no longer afford their skill set then they can resign and apply to another job. A lot of them looked up to me from my old job and they were happy to stay and improve. I actually ended up leaving that company before most of them. I had minimal churn during my stay.

I really like the principle of the "ownership mentality" and the analogy what it is in the employees mind. Most people can not get out of their mind and into the mind of others which can cause a lot of headache ;) Do you recommend to reward employees by sharing parts of profits with them - that might help for motivation. Thank you for that! - Sebastian

Now that we know that employees are employees and don't care about your business as much as you do, how do we encourage them to work harder and overachieve?
