SG, I hated history when I was in school, but had you been my teacher I would probably be a historian today. You make it all interesting. Love this channel!
Very well done and refreshing. Glad to get more learning than just about elvis. You have a very good ability to investigate and teach. Please continue. Love it.
Hey Billy.we so appreciate what you bring us.i can honestly say we never know what treat were going to receive next excellent.really enjoy this history lesson.amazing. England.🇬🇧
Excellent video Billy. The house where Jesse was killed at still exists but was moved. Just wanted to clear that up. About the James Home: The James Home was originally located about two blocks north of its present location, at 1318 Lafayette Street, on a high hill overlooking Patee House. In 1939 it was moved to the Belt Highway in St. Joseph as a tourist attraction. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keatley purchased the James Home in 1977 and donated it to the Pony Express Historical Association. The house was moved back to its original neighborhood and today it is located on the grounds of Patee House Museum.
Thankyou so much for the Jesse James connection in Nashville. Knew about him in Missouri, since my mom grew up in St. Joseph. Also, Jesse spent the night once at my great great grandparent’s farm in Missouri.
You know what I love about your stuff? How accurate you try to be and how "normal" your mini documentaries are. What I mean is; how you explain why there is jump narrative that goes along with the video, not necessarily smooth video or video edits and it is just you talking, no written script. I feel like I am traveling around in the Grey Ghost, hopping out, having you tell me the story. One on one, personal. Getting to watch you fly the glory in real time. Literally, I am out having an adventure with the Spa Guy! Thank you so much for your efforts!!!! You take us places and tell us things we never would have known! And my mind is ABSOLUTELY BLOWN about the 7-11 angle of this story. Is that really true? Amazing! Especially the slushy. Please confirm before I go telling that story formthenrest of my life! 🤣
Thank you for this video, I found out through a DNA test that i am related to Jesse James. So I’m very excited to learn all I can about him and frank. Thank you
Interesting, I always thought of the James Gang being in Missouri, so found this really interesting, always enjoy the humor :). Thanks for a great video!
I was raised in North Alabama, heard that he robbed the bank in Decatur AL. ,I never believed it but I never thought Jesse was as close as Nashville. very cool. Thanks spa guy.
they actually robbed a federal payroll master in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. They never robbed in Decatur or Huntsville which is another story. Frank did stand trial in Huntsville for the payroll robbery and was acquitted.
My grandfather as a young man lived in Davidson Co Tn. He died before I was born but my dad told a story that was told to him of my grandfather being in a saloon when a fight broke out. He pulled a knife out of his pocket and when he tried to open it (he had a bone fellen (sp) under his thumb nail) the knife slid across the floor.. Jesse James picked it up and gave it to him and told him" Son you take this knife and get the hell outta here now" and he did just that! I live in the Ozark Mts of Southern MO now and my Grandfather and Grandmother lived where I live now. Jesse and the gang when they came through here hid out in a very large cave not far from my house
From what I've been told by family my grandparents to be exact. I'm distance cousins to Jesse James and my jesse would come to my family property here in eastern Kentucky and visit my grandfather's grandparents quite often especially if he was hiding out.
Billy.. thanks for sharing.. very interesting.. I wonder what made Jessie turn from the church too a life of crime? He couldn't go with the coined phrase the Devil made me do it.., because people have a will and a choice. From the vantage point of your video..it looks like he had a nice life..job..nice family..a home too live in..and a relationship with God..it makes you question..why..give all this up for a life in crime..and a life that ended early?.. thanks for sharing.. your friend Bonnie
It all started with the Civil War, his brother joined Quantrills Raiders after Union Soldiers raided their house and hung their step father who survived. In May 1865, a month after Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s surrender at Appomattox Court House, Jesse was shot in the chest during a skirmish with Union troops near Lexington, Missouri. After being nursed back to health by his cousin Zerelda “Zee” Mimms (whom he would wed in 1874 and later have two children), Jesse eventually banded with his brother and other former Confederate guerillas to rob banks, stagecoaches and trains
Rumor has it that Jesse and the KGC stayed in the Dixie Tabernacle.....the home of the first Grand Ole Opry. It's also been said by certain knowledgeable historians that Nashville was also the underground capitol of the Confederacy during the "reconstruction" years.....I believe it💊. Love your work, man!
Son, you just keep tightening up. I didn’t know they had torn the murder house down. I’ve been to the homestead in Missouri and seen his original grave and where his final resting place is.
The Murder house was moved not torn down.. I really shouldn't have stepped off into that part of the story since I didn't visit that site.. I will one day though..
You got some nice echo goin' right at 15:50, I was hoping for a little "Be Bop A Lula." What do you think of Jesse living and becoming J.M. (Jeremiah) James? And the fact that J.M. James' grandson looks remarkably like Jesse James. Knights Of The Golden Circle?
Barbara private great clips of Jesse billy I herd of the name but dont him ,,,it seems a nice home what was that billy in frount of that house,,,, all cool No body home billy try again later Good one
Hey Spa guy I really enjoy your videos but have a question are you familiar with water chillers cold plunge pools? And if so by any chance would you know something good for a 275 gallon Spa?
The grave you show is the original grave. They moved his remains to the cemetery in town. You must visit MO when you ge5 a chance. I live in "James Country" here in Clay County.
Thinking he could be a relative of mine last name James. Only joking. Great video really interesting the name of the coward who shot him was Robert Ford.
The dirty rotten coward that shot Mr. Howard .... the James Museum in Stanton Mo. Has a lot of things to suggest he wasnt shot but lived his life out in TX
Has I live in the UK I've got to go on the documentaries that I have seen and all the films that I've watched and of course the spa guy. My self I still think that he was shot and killed by Robert Ford
You sure thats jesse in the center of that picture i thought he was second from the left and the guy first on the left was the guy who got catch at the store you said at the beginning of this show.
billy in 1997I lived in Mount Airy North Carolina And seldom we would go to Hillsville Galax va to A Yard sale that is a big event In that area when you get up at the top of The mountain there in Galax There's a mountain called fancy gap Real close to Hillsville va .At the top of that mountain they set roadside And have what you call Yard sale You know all along that road Anyway in 1997 I had pulled over At the top of the mountain Ann There was a grey van Sitting on the left hand side of the road Ann You not gonna believe this it had the words on it the gray ghost And he had CB antennas all over it And this guy was sitting out behind the vehicle And I went over to check on a Parashu's head sitting there They were leather and I was asking him About a belt if he had a belt about my size And I heard the CB on his vehicle he had it turned up kinda loud And I did not know it but after sitting there speaking with him I was talking to Jesse James Grandson And he was a vivid CB A person he'd like to talk on the CB and was talking about the Confederate war And a bunch of stuff and I know he was cussing this guy out on the cbBut anyway he showed me a plaque where unsolved mysteries had Awarded his father or something of that Method And I Ask him if he remembered as a young child Oh Any of the Things that Happened and he said he remembered Sitting on The lap Of His dad One evening andHis dad left and when he come back he had An automobile So he said that He recalls that happening Maybe They were doing a interview and paid him for such who knows But it is very intriguing His handle on the CB was the gray ghost AndWhen I Noticed you called your vehicle the grey ghost And you're doing a Thing on Jesse and Frank But the mountain Was called fancy gap There right close to Hillsville Virginia
at the time this man was close to his 70s and was gripping to some guy on the CB something about the confederation i paid for my shoes and belt and left
I hate to correct ya bud, but that isn't Jesse in the very center. He's 2 guys to the left of the man in the center. He's wearing a hat, and has the hand of the guy next to him on his shoulder. It's said that he and the gang members in the picture are giving hand signals, showing that they belong to the Knights Of The Golden Circle. Very interesting subject!
@@SpaGuy Jesse is the guy on the left of the heavy set guy, the guy with his arm around Jesse is supposed to be a gang member. Many so called pictures of Jesse are not him. I've done a lot of research on Jesse and have had to sift through all the b.s. I like your channel keep up the great videos!
Some of the old newspapers say Jesse James rode through my little hometown of Livingston Kentucky after robbing a bank and one of his gang members were shot at Pine Hill or Mullins Station road. It's funny because the old newspapers have conflicting information. Alot of history around here from the civil war battle field at wildcat mountain to the abandoned railroad tunnels dating back over a 100 years, full of writings I'd like to examine more. Here is a link to the newspaper article papershake.blogspot.com/2013/09/w-va-bank-robber-killed-in-pine-hill.html?m=1

One of my great grandfather on the Emens Family helped track down one of the James Brothers in somewhere in Alabama there.
