Loved the video Mike. And so glad you have been spending Family time 😊. I have so enjoyed watching this video. I get all my ruff cut from the Amish. I love ruff cut and then planing it when needed. It’s beautiful!! The guys who make this saw mill should be contacting you on how to improve their saw ….. you always have some of the best ideas on improving things that need it. Thanks for the video Tammy and I really enjoyed seeing you again 😊
Thanks Rich! I really appreciate it 😊 I should have more videos coming out soon, the break had been really nice. Take care and you and Tammy have a great weekend 👍
Has it been 8 years already?!? I started watching your channel when you first started the sawmill build! You’ve been a great inspiration for DIY and making it happen, thanks for all you do.
I'm not a wood cutting guy but you make the videos interesting so I watch anyways. It's great that you took a break, if it's too stressful it's not worth it. I'm looking forward to the upcoming videos!
Great clamp improvement - could easily see that being picked up by Woodland to roll into the product; hopefully they'll give you a nod if they see this video and do that!
You have to spend time with Family for Sure. We will always be here. The way the Country is today. It's a Good thing to stay close and spend as much time with one another. You made some nice additions to the mill. And I bet that flooring is going to look Beautiful..Great Job Sir. And Glad everything is going good for you ..Thank You for sharing
You talking about taking time off of social media and being with family really resonates with me. Social media can be a blessing with it's possibilities but it's also a burden on one's mind if not consumed with caution. Family is most important indeed. And minibikes. 😀 Take care, Mike.👍
Thanks Donn! I appreciate it man, yes this spring and summer I have been spending a lot of time with my kids and close friends 😊 I definitely slowed down on YT these days. I still plan on making content but I couldn’t keep the pace of a new video every other Friday, I did that for over 3 years and it’s been a bit overwhelming for me. I’m going back to sharing topics and projects I’m interested In but I probably won’t be chasing the YT algorithm anymore, they just keep changing the goal post and I’m not going to make the ( Shorts ) vertical format like they want everyone to make. Take care Donn and thanks for checking out my videos 😊👍
I feel the same - to quote the classics: "We're too old for this s**t!" 😂 I've tried the occasional short-attention-span short video but the revenue is 100x less than on a regular video (not wanting to sound greedy but the bills need to be paid and I'm always looking a great R.O.I.). And it aggravates subscribers - I've been mostly losing subscribers over shorts (analytics don't lie) so what's the point... You do you man, I have your channel notifications on and I'll be here watching once you post again. Stay healthy!🤘
I appreciate the way you think .. improving on such a small part of that log clamp .. while using other similar use tools .. to modify and implement a much better low profile design. Well done!!
Welcome back sir. Great to see another video. Been missing ya! Can't wait to see what you have been doing. Any content is great content from you. Cheers and blessings to you and your family.
Hey Mike, Mick here. Family time is healing and wellness for the soul. I have missed you and your amazingly innovated projects, but I fully understand, crazy world around us these days.
Thanks Mick! Yes family takes priority for sure. Definitely have some new videos in the works, should have a new video next Friday, it’s a sawmill video about an awesome Setworks digital height controls I bought from a company in Lithuania 🇱🇹 Take care and have a great weekend!
Enjoyed the video! That quarter sawn lumber is going to make some nice looking flooring for your cabin. I hope to see it in a future video! Enjoy your break.....we will be here when you return!
Great vid, Mike. At work we peel a lot of logs (for play equipment, mostly sweet chestnut and ash) and have tried lots of different methods. The best we've found is a 3-blade disc peeler for a 9" grinder, very quick and clean (does clog with oak though). I've also had very good results using a powerful pressure washer to remove bark on larch. Keep up the good work, cheers.
Was wondering if there’d be a vid from you soon and well here it is. Nice little chilled vid, I’m sure people who use the same contraption will be intrigued to see your modification.
Excellent.... This is what I was looking for! Everything about my mill I love except the clamp! The lower cuts want to roll the timber over (because of no leverage as you said) love this idea 💡 sir! I had to take the same break from filming... It's super easy to burn out! Love your videos
Since I live in the NW love watching you especially when you are milling because I can recognize the wood though you don`t do a lot of cedar , love your videos. You should take a break and enjoy life and family .
Hey thanks for the video, One hung you might consider is raising your mill on runners and blocking to just below waist height, this way you don’t have to bend over as much.
Great video .. like the clamp set up .. some day I would love to have a saw mill .. but the $$ is tight other things need fixed 1st .. what would be neat is a home made mini skid steer . not sure yet track or tire drive it gets wet hear in the spring got lots of clay .. hope to see more of your projects ..
Thanks for checking out my new video 👍 hopefully I will get back to making more videos soon 😊 Definitely feeling more inspired to get back making more content. Have a good weekend 👍
Mike, could you make a permanent electric debarker that goes in front of the blade? Other companies include this as standard equipment. You could use one of those angle grinder cutters for carving, and have a depth wheel to help keep it from gouging the log.
Mike, I appreciate anything you post. It is always good to get a video from you, but family comes first. Question, do you reuse your scrap sawdust and lumber? A video on that would be interesting.
Thanks for always checking out my videos 😊 Good suggestion! I have been planning a video this summer on projects to do with all the scraps from the mill. I Definitely use the sawdust, especially the Hemlock and Fir, I put it around my fruit trees and raspberries for mulch 😊👍
That screw with the long handle is the biggest bug in this mill. Trying to hold the log square with that one point of contact is difficult and time consuming. Some have suggested using a floor jack. As it stands, I couldn't use my floor jack. I use a bunch of shims and wedges and I still get out of square. I want to rig something like a pipe clamp across the bottom to hold the log square.
Great to see a new video Mike. One question, if you flipped the offset on the bottom tube of your log clamp, wouldn't gain another 3/4" or so of capacity?
When you run your cnc plasma what do you keep the air pressure at because I have a cnc plasma and I can't get the air pressure right if could help I would appreciate it. Thanks
Well it definitely depends on the plasma cutter, my titanium 45 only will run at 90 PSI my Hynade has the air pressure auto set. My Arcfony pro I set around 50 PSI. Hope that helps.
I have the auto feed on my bigger mill, I probably wouldn’t set this one up for auto feed just so it stays simple for more portability. Thanks for checking out my new video 😊
You really went out on a limb, and left us danging for a bit Mike.Thought you were branching out into taky-tics,or such yuks. I know it's a bit punky of me to cut up like this, but I'm all spruced up with nowhere to go.I'm not glossing over your efforts.I may've nailed a couple poor puns.Nuff of that.Hope you at least smiled.I'm rung out.
Those boards ard not quarter sawn. You just cut it into quarters then plain sawed them. For quarte saw, you need to rotate each quarter segment 45 degrees from a flat side.
Well I cut it the way many people call 1/4 sawing, I got vertical grain so I got exactly what I was going for. Please post a video of this if you can do it the proper way. 👍
Hey Brother, socialist media hain't everything Mike, I get it. Spend that time with your family bcoz you can never get it back buddy. And if/when you decide to retire from this scene, I will completely understand and will definitely respect your decision my friend! Take Care and God Bless and God Keep you brother 🙏 ✝️ Jay.

Definitely an improvement to the mill 👍 thanks for checking out my new video!
Everyone has to take breaks at some time. Will 100% be here waiting for your next video (no pressure though!). That debarker looks interesting too!
Thanks Harey I appreciate it 😊

Good onya Mike. Family always comes first. The rest can wait as we are all doing. Good clamp btw. Cheers.
It's good to take a break. I really enjoy your vids because you definitely have a passion for the tops you cover. It's fun to watch and educational.
Thanks Craig 👍😊

Looks good Mike! Good info on the blunt screw on the log clamp
Was wondering if there’d be a vid from you soon and well here it is. Nice little chilled vid, I’m sure people who use the same contraption will be intrigued to see your modification.

I’m starting to get back into making videos again, the break was really nice.
Should have some mini truck content fairly soon as well 😊
Thank you for sharing ..very interesting 😮😮
Good job Mike, nice to see you again

Thanks for checking out my videos! Yes this clamp I made seems to work a lot better for me then the original one. 👍
Since I live in the NW love watching you especially when you are milling because I can recognize the wood though you don`t do a lot of cedar , love your videos. You should take a break and enjoy life and family .
Good video, Maybe you should market your log clamp as an aftermarket product. I would bet many HM122 users would buy it. Be Blessed
Appreciate you and your brother keeping everything fun and light hearted. Truly look forward to the future stuff as it comes.
Thanks man 😊 I definitely appreciate it!
Great to see another video Mike. You deserve the break, you need to have a good balance in life. Take care and I look forward to the next one.
Thanks 👍
Hey thanks for the video,
One hung you might consider is raising your mill on runners and blocking to just below waist height, this way you don’t have to bend over as much.
Good to see ya! things super busy here in the Ozarks, often think how hard and time consuming it must be to make and upload these videos!
Thanks for always checking out my videos man 👍
Keep up the projects and enjoy your time doing it 😊

Definitely worth looking into. Possibly something for my bigger mill. 😊👍

Great idea for the clamp

How’s everything been going?
Do you still have your mini Excavator?
I look forward to seeing your excavator video, I am looking at getting a Japanese used export machine roughly 1.5 ton or smaller for residential work.
Right on 👍 I’m probably a few weeks from finishing up the video 😊
I think you would really like a small excavator, so useful.
Great to see a new video Mike. One question, if you flipped the offset on the bottom tube of your log clamp, wouldn't gain another 3/4" or so of capacity?
Hello Mike does quarter sawing make your lumber more stable less cuping as it dryes.
Would you have any recommendations on cut feeds/speeds for cutting 3/8" inch steel on a crossfire cnc plasma cutter

Is your old mill for sale?
No I still use it all the time, this one I wanted a smaller more portable mill.
@@Mikefestiva ok thank you. Enjoyed the video.
Might wanna ask Wile E Coyote about ACME stuff..js..😅 bleep bleep, zoinggggg

I ordered mine from Woodland mills website. There’s a wide range of mills and options available 👍
