  • The Last Domino? Tour is an upcoming concert tour by English rock band Genesis, staged following the announcement of their reunion after a 14-year hiatus. It will feature the core trio of keyboardist Tony Banks, drummer/singer Phil Collins, and bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford, the most successful and longest-lasting line-up in the band's history, with Daryl Stuermer on guitars and bass, and Collins' son Nic on drums.

    Some strange comments. This tour is really about Phil Collins saying goodbye and doing it with his best friends. If anybody is expecting a 70 year old man with disabilities to rock up and sing like he was in his pomp, you have wild imaginations.
    Phil is very brave to be doing what’s he’s doing, and he’s by no means embarrassing himself. Huge respect to Phil Collins…the greatest performer of all.

      VERY nice tribute and I respect and appreciate your opinion. However, there will be a lot of people who do not see it that way. I hope that above all, Phil, Tony and Mike enjoy themselves, accomplish what they set out to accomplish and will be at peace with the performances once they conclude.

    I love Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford & Tony Banks for giving us years of great music. It’s also great to see Phil pass down the drumming part to his son Nick. Even though the band Genesis don’t sound exactly the way they did in the 1970’s, 1980’s & 1990’s, I still give them love and respect for keeping the music alive and going. God bless them all.

    If you're a musician or an artist, you can understand what this means to Phil. He doesn't have the pipes anymore, he's weak, & he's visibly struggling. His mind has to be running with self-doubt as to why he's even doing this in the first place. But Rock & Roll & art will always be about rebellion and if anything, he's rebelling against his own flesh. Way to go, Phil. I've always loved your voice, message, and music.

      I mean they've lowered the keys of songs many times. Even on 1992 tour they lowered the keys of multiple songs from Invisible Touch for live performance. They of course did this for nearly every song for Ray Wilson in 1998, and then again in 2007 for the tour with Phil. It doesn't change how good the song is, if anything it shows the strength of all these songs.

He is so experienced, now his voice, presence is felt like a really great wine. And his son, what an awesome drummer, like his dad. And Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford, hats to you all. Long live Genesis! Keep on creating guys, playing these concerts as much as you can, cause now you really rock. You are the best now. I really mean this. You have convinced me, totally. Age doesn't matter as long as you perform the songs that mean something from your heart. Land Of Confusion is now more relevant than ever. Wtf is up with all these awful comments? I think Phil and the band sound great, and I'm so excited and thankful that I'll get to see my favorite band on earth who I was certain I'd never see live. If you were lucky enough to see them in their prime and would rather keep those memories, that's completely fine, but why the need to shit on an elderly disabled man who's doing his best?
    I mean, compare his singing here to someone like Ian Anderson, who hasn't been able to "sing" at all for at least 20 years but still tours to this day. Everyone's voice and body diminishes, and we're so lucky that Phil is still alive and able to carry a tune with all that he's been through.

      Yes, it was still enjoyable, especially in the pandemic mindset for the song. I have been saying this song is the official song of this pandemic and I'm glad he did this and that this video shows it.

    As I seen that teaser, I was really happy that his voice did not change so much, the band plays very fresh... yeah I agree, that it is a little bit sad, that Phil must sit in the chair, but we feel how much he wants to show more Action.
    Of course he did not sound like in the 80th's because nearly 40 years are pass by....but I sometimes listen also to other older bands, and they sounds really cruelty and had no frontman with diseases

    • @just82much51
      @just82much51 2 роки тому +1

      Actually his voice has changed A LOT (not being cruel, just factual). His range is gone as is his tone. But I give him credit for going out there and doing his best under the circumstances. The only thing I disagree with is that from a quality performance standpoint, this is NOT AT ALL worth what they are charging for tickets. To pay over $100 for nose bleed seats based on Phils current vocal limitations. In the live performance history of Genesis, Phil's vocals have ALWAYS been WORLD CLASS, BEST of the BEST, but unfortunately this is not.

    • @Joesspace
      @Joesspace 2 роки тому

      Yeah, maybe in someone others eyes isn't worthy to pay this ticket prices, but I want to say that the shows are much more expensive during the pandemics, because they can't bring in 10.000's of people and also otherwise maybe this is really the last chance to see them all live in a Concert, especially if it is the first and the last Concert that you can visit.
      I was never at a Genesis Live Concert, so if I become a last chance for it ....than it will be absolutely worth to pay also the price that they call out.

      Can you do the same cut with Domino song? I think Domino song is pretty good with the low key, specially from the quiet part with Phil start singing. By the way, you did an excellent job with Mama and Land of Confusion. Thanks for sharing it.✌️

    Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
    Because their words had forked no lightning they
    Do not go gentle into that good night.
    Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
    Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
    And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
    Do not go gentle into that good night.
    Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
    Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
    And you, my father, there on the sad height,
    Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
    Do not go gentle into that good night.
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
