That ovation when they walked on was unbelievably emotional. How long we'd waited and how long we roared! I was hoarse before they'd played a single note! A glorious, unforgettable night. I genuinely don't understand the armchair critics. To be in the company of Genesis live one more time, knowing it will be the very last time, was overwhelming. Well said. I’ve seen Genesis live going back to the Gabriel days but really grew up with the band with Phil as lead singer. I actually fought back tears watching this as I can remember seeing Genesis live and Collins running around non stop being the frontman that he was and now to see him having to sit down. But, he’s out there playing and for this I commend him. The intro blew me away and the way it led up to Phil’s singing was well planned and executed.
Unfortunately only the UK and US. Peter and Steve? You are a student of history. Since they both left in the 70s they have both only played once with the band and that was a WOMAD benefit concert at Milton Keynes in 1981, some 40 years ago. So, Genesis band members, Phil, Chester, Mike, Daryl, Tony thank you for a lifetime of music and performance. !!
I give it to him. What this poor guy has been going through i get it. I lived through my husband having problems as such for many years on top of cancer and now suffer myself. Phil Collins your music has always been fantastic. Your an amazing artist, singer, drummer. Love your music, always will!!! ❤
I am 62 years old and have been a Genesis fan since 1972. I can well understand how you feel. Genesis has been with me all my life. I was allowed to experience many of their concerts. In many a difficult hour of my life their music has comforted me and helped me. I am grateful to them for that. I hope I will be able to visit one of their concerts.
Not getting the Phil criticism. He sounds good. The band is tuned down obviously to fit his key. The man has serious health problems. Admirable that he can do it all. It’s called live music. It’s 2021 not 1991 folks. So cool to see his son playing drums with Genesis. These guys still are miles better than fake auto tune wannabes.
While there are a lot of asshole and inconsiderate comments, we have to be realistic here... I've been a fan of Genesis and Phil for decades, but this is just painful to watch for the most part... *I'm a fan, not a fan boy* ... i'm not going to say it's great when it's clearly not... The *band* still sounds great, Phil unfortunately not so... While i understand why Phil is doing this and part of me is excited watching these guys playing on a stage again, Phil is just not up for it, he was not up for it in his previous solo tour as well. If people want to go to the gigs and support Phil and the band that's great, hope it sells out everywhere, but let's stop pretending it's great, and analyze with a bit more "coldness" the overall performance...
@@conan5885 I respect your opinion, but hey he’s 70 years old. Maybe it’s a way to get over his depression. Music heals all. I think he sounds ok not great but obviously in a lot of physical pain. When this tour is over. Would love to see him and the band produce other artists or bands. Be a mentor for the new generation.
He does not sound good at all, sorry. The band obviously can play well, but what they are doing to Phil, letting him suffer through sets and concerts in this condition.. it is cruel. And the fact that he is 70 is not an excuse. Lots of singers in his age can still carry a tune. Phil, sadly, not anymore. I love Genesis and even tolerated most of Phil's solo stuff ... but I don't want to have this sad performance be my last memory of him on stage.
A sad sight. Unreal from the Phil we knew 20-30 years ago. Watch “No Ticket Required” on You Tube from Dallas to enjoy dear Phil as he was the absolute genius, musician, singer and actor that he was.
I would like to conjecture that it is not so much criticism as much as it is sadness. And agreed, he sounds as good as he can sound in this day. But as somebody who loves the catalog of work he produced as much as I do, it is a lament of the loss of youthful mastery that is at the root of any criticism. Like all things, the gardener gives way to the winnower, and as much as it pains folks to see their own parents lose the luster of virility, so it goes for your heroes of yore.
I just feel sad when I see this. Poor Phil, one of the best musicians in the world but clearly not in the best health. So grateful for the many many times we saw Genesis live in Toronto along with his solo concerts. All the best to him. I just can't stop feeling so emotional.
Saw Genesis in Leeds last night, absolutely amazing. Hats off to all of them, especially Phil in rising to the challenges he obviously has and what a tribute to him his son Nic is, fabulous. Loved every minute, especially as I was accompanied by my own son.
It's been an amazing run with an amazing band. Thank you for the best way to say thank you and good bye to us.. Musically this has been the best 45 years of my life..
I remember seeing them back in the 80's when PC did a crazed dance with a tambourine before scampering up to the drum kit to play like a maniac. Time takes its toll. Nice to see him out there doing his best...and while it would be hard to fill his shoes as a drummer (aside from early Genesis, his work with Brand X was astonishing), his son is doing a fine job. While I was far more of a fan of the Prog era, even the pop songs are a sight for sore ears in this current era.
Phil, the ultimate showman, gave us years of brilliant performances and songs. Hats off to him and great to see him for what will probably be the last time. We have youtube though to remember the good old days
When they played ' Turn it on again' it reminded me of the first time I listened to ' Three sides live' . I was blown away by that album and the sheer musicianship of this band, and of course Phil's superb vocals . But yes it is so sad seeing Phil like this. But hats off to him for giving it his best here !
Genesis was my favorite band in the 70's. My interest lessened after the Gabriel and Hackett years, but I still consider them my favorite band of all-time. However, I have to say, this is so very hard to watch, and listen to. It's like watching the story of the classic Ripples in real time. I'll always have the fond memories of those great musical times. From Nursery Cryme to Wind & Wuthering, and to the 1st time I saw them live in 1976, those days are priceless to me. Thank you for being such a big part of my life for so many years.
Correct great band prog years was the best even saw the lamb tour also seeing steve since he left Steve's great live and his band sad to see phil like this he was great drummer and all the band great musicians still great live when they went poppy no more bands like this anymore talent just talentless rubbish thinking they are good let see if they will be going in their 70.s don't think so
In spite of everything, what strength, great Phil! You can feel that you put your heart into it, and mine can only be moved, remembering all the emotions you have given me, for years and years, records, concerts, radio ... Genesis forever! You are a great man! A big hug from Italy!!
I saw the Last Domino Tour in Leeds last night. I've never seen Genesis perform before, but they have always been on my "watch list". I found the whole experience very emotional. I was fully aware that Phil Collins has been "poorly" for a number of years, but wasn't prepared for the frail Phil Collins that appeared on the stage. It reminded me so much of Freddie Mercury's last video with Queen (Those were the days of our life). I for one stand in awe of Phil Collin's presence on stage last night. His illness restricting him in so many ways as a performer, but still giving his all to please his fans.
Been into Genesis for 45 years, seen them a few times and always loved their concerts. I commend Phil for still getting up on stage and doing his best to perform. you guys will always be awesome to me!
This is my favorite band ever! With Peter and Phil both! Saw them in 2007 in Washington and were amazing. I thank God for the opportunity and joy. I would love to say goodbye, even though it pains me to see Phil like this, I commend him for his spirit, love of music and us, all his fans. An incredible joy to see his son playing with the band! He is amazing 🤩 Love to all of them!! Thanks for sharing this amazing video, enjoyed it !! 🥰
Kudos to Phil for giving it a go. He looks so frail and I really felt for him. Musically the band still have it, Phils son on drums superb, but not for me much as I love Genesis. I would rather have been left with the memories from previous concerts. This near the start of the tour, so I dread to think how Phil will be after all the travelling and numerous nights on stage. Phil, look after yourself and I wish you well. Thank you for all the wonderful memories
Phil Collins is one of Britain’s finest all round musicians this country has ever produced. The whole band is incredibly gifted. This is what happens when several musicians all come together at the right time and form a band that will live on and be remembered. I still love the old Genesis albums some 50 years later.
I kept getting this false hope that Phil would get back into shape good enough to stand for more of the show and play some drums, boy did I set myself up for disappointment. On a positive note he looks and sounds better than he did on the mot dead yet tour. He is getting around a lot better, he’s actually getting up and walking around during instrumentals and keeping up with everyone.
I agree, I'm a drummer and Genesis stuff is not easy to play as Phil was such a creative player, but Nic is really showing what a great talent and future prospect he is.
I have been a fan for so long, and have never seen them live. Was very excited to hear they were doing this tour. Maybe I would finally get to see them live! I didn't even care if Phil sang out of tune the whole time (knowing about his issues). But I live in New Zealand and it's unlikely I will ever get to see them live. Was really hoping there would be 2022 dates and they might come down to at least Australia. I would swim there if I had to. Seeing them live has been one of my only goals in life. I would honestly have given anything to see them on this tour. One added weird thing on top - they play a track from my favourite film composer (Thomas Newman) from one of my favourite films (American Beauty) as they walk on stage. Always been obsessed with that orchestral soundtrack in particular. Getting to hear that track through a ridiculously loud PA as they walked on stage would have been a dream, as well. Thanks for uploading so I get to see the entire show so early in the tour.
This literally made me start bawling. I'm 63, but we remember our idols young and strong. They age just as we have. Kudos to Phil and the boys for giving us their all.
I just love these guys. A friend turned me on to them in 1977. I can't think of anything that happened in my life that wasn't somehow connected to Genesis in some way after that. These guys were and are My world. Thank you so much for everything
What an amazing night this was my hat goes off to Phil tony Mike nic and daryl for bringing the sound of genesis back again I saw them as my first concert at the old Wembley stadium back in the 80s for there invisible touch tour and was hooked on genesis ever since it brings a tear to my eye to know people will never get to see them again as a live band after this tour

I seen Genesis many times over the years on almost each tour.. I was blessed to see them during the Invisible Touch tour at a spectacular concert at Wembley stadium on July 1987 which was the very first ever concert shot in high definition I later heard.. The atmosphere there at the time was priceless..
Thank you DM and Thank you Genesis! They sound a lot better than the critics would have had us believe. Phil is a wonder. Been a fan since 1971, and my first live show was 1973 in Montreal. Fan for life. I wish them all a fun tour and long healthy lives.
The reason this concert is great, is because it's great it its own right. The songs are different, but they're current live versions which do exactly what songs are supposed to do- move us.
Thank you to everyone for the many great videos being posted. It breaks my heart to see Phil so frail but what an absolute trooper he is. I'm hoping a ticket will become available for one (of the two) Liverpool shows in October. It would be a box ticked if I got the chance to see them live.
Phil was running on mania for about 20 years. He gave us so many special moments. Unfortunately it's unsustainable long term. Thx for the great memories
Thanks for posting this. I feel so bad for Phil's health, but he must be beaming with pride because of Nic's drumming. It was great seeing the others onstage, I just wish Chester Thompson would have been there as well. "Duke" was one of the first Genesis Albums I heard when I was in college. Dang, now I feel old....

Love Genesis, and in my 50s, have all their material, most on vinyl, and always loved them. I would gladly see them, but tickets are beyond affordable.
It was a truly incredible night, Genesis is always fantastic and even though Phil needed backing singers it did not detract from an amazing show. We loved it all and Nic is every bit as good as his dad.

Got to see them years ago at Texas Stadium. I’ve seen every major act I could in 56 years and shot several, but they put on the best show of anyone! I’ll travel to see them again.
Genesis and Phil as a solo-man provided us with so many amazing memories of a time that can never be repeated. I am so happy that my 10 year old has found a liking for this music. She consistency reminds me how awful todays music is and wishes she could have grown up in the 80's. Hopefully there will be a rebirth of this era of music in the future....
I’ve loved Genesis since the first time I heard Trick Of The Tail ! I would love to see this last tour too but can’t justify over $700. to see them once more, just seeing this part of their performance brings so many memories, good & bad, from my life ! Their earlier work is my favorite. It’s sad that all the magic the music that accompanied my life is disappearing rapidly as, one by one, they depart this world for the next.
I have my ticket taped to the wall here... September 15th... but, Ireland was cancelled. I so wanted to be at this , The Last Domino. These clips are superb, and the sound is excellent. Phil Collins... what's to say? If England had a Mount Rushmore, he'd be one of the four (along With Banks, Rutherford and Darryl ). Behind the Lines is the greatest opening , of any piece of Rock in the last 40 years, surely? Long live this Mount Olympus of bands ⛰
I grew up with Genesis, and it breaks my heart to see the condition Phil is in. He lost all of his vocal range, and the gravel he had in the upper range. I know he has had many challenges in his life. I truly hope that he is fullfilling the dream of being back with his mates and his son behind the drums. Cheers! Phil, and Cheers Genesis!
It is sad to see Phil looking like this, but he gave it everything he had and it all ended up sounding pretty good, all considered. Let's be honest, whose voice in their 70s sounds like it did in their 20s? With the money he has, he could have just put his feet up and said, "Enough!", but to come out for one last tour, as this will probably have to be, is remarkable. Like others have said, if Peter and Steve can join them for even one show, that would be a fitting end.
You really don't think that this is below the usual singer getting old thing? It's not the fact that he's old, it's the fact that he's not able to put in a minimum shift any more. Not his fault of course, but people paid a lot of good money for this. I guess if you're still going on about Peter and Steve after over 40 years, you are wearing rose-tinted glasses.
I remember camping out overnight for tickets for The Invisible Touch Tour when I was 16. That’s what you did back then. They played 4 or 5 sold out shows in Chicago and I think I saw them on the first night. It’s amazing that after al these years their music still means a lot to me and I think about my teenage misfit years. I wish I could see them one more time but I live in Thailand and that’s not part of the tour. Thanks for the vids.
So excited to see them in Boston in December- we saw them so many times in the 80s & 90s. I agree about the mixed emotions - it's hard to see the reminder of just how much time has passed (I certainly don't feel any older than when I was in college & saw them for the first time). As a musician, I know how music can keep you going!!! The happiness on Phil's face is everything!
I spent my whole life listening to this band it's nice to see they still get at their best. It kind of looks like they set it up like the seconds out tour
As someone whos first ever concert was three sides Nassau coliseum NY as a very young teenager (which I vividly remember sitting behind the stage.. and is still one of my favorite concerts of all time..) True. His drumming’s amazing. I wonder if the kid can sing........🤔😀
Maybe he could twist Geddy Lee's and Alex Lifeson's arms? Just a thought
Nic is the real deal. I’m curious though- how is is singing? 🤷🏻♀️
They will forever and always be the greatest band there has been . Thank you Genesis . Remember this
We owe them too much. They are the sound of my Life. I enjoyed their music over the year the years since 1969. Now they spent an appreciable effort to come back on the stage and play much better way than what can be expected from the guys at this age. It is not easy for anybody with some health issues , to get in front of such a crowd and perform. Thanks so much GENESIS. We are proud of you. All music world is proud of you.You are a very good GIANT PROG ROCK BAND. And we are so lucky to have listened to you many many years.
Nic is absolutely killing it! Drummer is always the backbone of any band!
Since when?
@@vietnamvet4533 Phil Collins' own words at 'the Invisible Touch' tour at Wembley Stadium in 1987, where he described Chester Thomspon as 'the backbone of Genesis live'
@@vietnamvet4533 Since the beginning of time. "A band without a secure, reliable, dynamic, and expressive drummer is a band without strong foundations. In other words, a band without a backbone." A band is only as good as its drummer.
@@gypsy13291 Since the beginning of time, wow that is really long. The drummer is important, but I would bet that the Stones, the Beatles, the Door to name a few of the great ones, could have made it with or without their drummer. Mick, John and Paul, and Jim were the driving force of these bands.
@@brendancronin1844 Ok you drummer boys like the chamber maid with one bullet can never be changed. But as I said to another drummer boy, The Stones, The Beatles, The Door, the drummer yep important. But to put them in the same class as Mick, John and Paul and Jim, as your President the most popular one in the history of the Republix come on man!
If you celebrate your “life events” with this band’s music, then, you enjoy the whole ride. If you truly have connected with these guys at some point in your life then you’ve enjoyed their climb, pinnacle and you just now say “thanks for the memories “.
I saw them during my teenager and 20’s years at Madison Square Garden NY & Brendon Burn Sports arena NJ, in my 30’s JFK Pa., 40’s Columbus Oh……….and without tickets for Boston or NY I only hope they come out with a DVD like they did in “Live over Rome”.
Yes, Phil Will live forever! I wish him the very best!
I just feel sad when I see this. Poor Phil, one of the best musicians in the world but clearly not in the best health. So grateful for the many many times we saw Genesis live in Toronto along with his solo concerts. All the best to him. I just can't stop feeling so emotional.
Wow... Nicholas is sooooo good !!! Perfectly played !!! How much joy for me to watch this !!
Saw Genesis in Leeds last night, absolutely amazing. Hats off to all of them, especially Phil in rising to the challenges he obviously has and what a tribute to him his son Nic is, fabulous. Loved every minute, especially as I was accompanied by my own son.
Me too
It's been an amazing run with an amazing band.
Live in Lyceum 1980... Awesome.

When they played ' Turn it on again' it reminded me of the first time I listened to
' Three sides live' . I was blown away by that album and the sheer musicianship of this band, and of course Phil's superb vocals . But yes it is so sad seeing Phil like this. But hats off to him for giving it his best here !
Three sides live has spent more time in my cd player/cassette deck/turntable than any other recording..
Correct great band prog years was the best even saw the lamb tour also seeing steve since he left Steve's great live and his band sad to see phil like this he was great drummer and all the band great musicians still great live when they went poppy no more bands like this anymore talent just talentless rubbish thinking they are good let see if they will be going in their 70.s don't think so
My first time was also 76, Hammersmith odeon. First of many
In spite of everything, what strength, great Phil!
Phil is another of the greats, loyal to the music and the fans, most likely to the very end. Love ya, Phill!
I need these guys one mote time.Genesis thank you for givin us all fans the best music over decades.
Lovely. God bless you Phil. Never ever stop doing what you love. Take that to Heaven.
I saw him 2 years ago & he was awesome. Can't wait to see them in December 🎶🤎
He is amazing 🤩
Love to all of them!!
Thanks for sharing this amazing video, enjoyed it !! 🥰
First band I ever saw live...back in 1979/80.
Thanks for posting
Rock on!

Nic is a bloody star! Imagine the pressure...massive boots to fill...and he's smashing it!
Nobody seems to be commenting on how great this is shot and how wonderful the recording is.
Seeing and hearing Phil like this, hurts me deep inside...
Expecially also because he cannot play drums anymore.
This literally made me start bawling. I'm 63, but we remember our idols young and strong. They age just as we have. Kudos to Phil and the boys for giving us their all.
Remember the tour was supposed to be a year ago but COVID got in the way. I can only imagine Phil’s voice was stronger back then.
@@grahamea It wasn't.
@@grahamea ....Phil's voice was bad in 2019 on his solo tour.
Phils son is a great drummer..a lot of energy. Worth watching for him
God bless you Phil, one of the world's greatest drummers unable to play because of his health , still has that magical voice, a true legend of music.
Not only are they bandmates but much like brothers as well. Nick will cherish this tour with his father. Bless Phil for giving it once last go.
I just love these guys. A friend turned me on to them in 1977. I can't think of anything that happened in my life that wasn't somehow connected to Genesis in some way after that. These guys were and are My world. Thank you so much for everything
The strength, talent, energy and pride to continue with the new generational era. May it never end !!! Thanks Nic Collins !!
Such spirit here! So glad to see they're doing this for Genesis fans!! Phil forever!!!
Genesis is the band of my life, guided me for decades and spent so many hours of purest happiness to me. Its so sad to see Phil in this condition.......thank you for your music. God bless you All.
I seen Genesis many times over the years on almost each tour.. I was blessed to see them during the Invisible Touch tour at a spectacular concert at Wembley stadium on July 1987 which was the very first ever concert shot in high definition I later heard.. The atmosphere there at the time was priceless..
Genesis is a great band, thanks for all the happiness you give us. God bless you 👏👏👏
It's not what I would have paid to see, but if they want to perform it and fans want to hear it, God bless!
Man, they sound great here! Love seeing this! Musicians playing MUSIC!! (that drummer is kickin'!) Thanks for posting this, DeadMike.
Merci beaucoup pour ce partage ! J’adore Genesis depuis 1976. J’ai vu 4 fois Peter Gabriel en concert mais jamais Genesis. C’est mon rêve !!
Like so many other fortunate fans I was raised in an era of unmatched musical greatness. GENESIS thank you for all the incredible music and concert memories ❤️🎶
This makes my soul smile.
Incredible. Thank you so much. Seriously so Incredible excited to see then in Chicago
Late 1980’s when i was 13 and was starting to think of becoming a musician…. Genesis was my first influence. 😎🎼❤️
Love Genesis, and in my 50s, have all their material, most on vinyl, and always loved them. I would gladly see them, but tickets are beyond affordable.
We pay 10x more from the 70s/early 80s concerts and the band is 1/10th as good...no thanks seeing them live.
Simplemente maravillosoe impensado volver a verlos en vivo. Gracias x el esfuerzo, gracias x una vuelta más
It was a truly incredible night, Genesis is always fantastic and even though Phil needed backing singers it did not detract from an amazing show. We loved it all and Nic is every bit as good as his dad.
Damn didnt realise Phil was so frail but huge respect for giving the fans a final gig

I cannot thank you enough. Thanks for filming and sharing, great quality!!!
What can you say. Truly one of the very best groups in the great genre.
Sad to see and hear but glad they gave it a go. Steve Hackett is touring Seconds Out right now and it's fabulous.
Genesis rocks...Nic is Solid !
The concentration and energy by Phil to sing the lyrics is motivating and heartwarming
Darryl sounding great as usual! So bitter sweet isn’t it with all there history, a final bow for them and Phil❤️
So good to see you again... thank you.. I love you.
They were and I am still my favorite group! They are inexhaustible, children of their time and mine. Thanks for your performance, great Phil Collins for the energy that he still puts in singing despite his illness.👍
Thanks Phil and Genesis, seems like you had a ballad that came out just when I was going through it back then, and sometimes it still chokes me up when the classic rock station spins it again. Live long.
So many memories in this songs. Thankyou Genesis for chances going back to those sweet times
Welcome back Phil Collins / Genesis 🎼🎸🎙 Thank you so much 👍❣❣❣

Got to see them years ago at Texas Stadium. I’ve seen every major act I could in 56 years and shot several, but they put on the best show of anyone! I’ll travel to see them again.
Frigging beautiful. Saw Genesis in the '70's, '80's, '00's.
MARAVILHOSO...
Genesis com Phil Collins
Genial relembrar os momentos felizes, fantástico
🇧🇷
This is why they're legends. Hats off to Phil🙏🏾
Hats off! For the guys.... Amazing career and music. And to still get out there at this point.
God Bless Phil for having the courage an desire to bind with his fans one more time. You’re the man Phil! Thank you for all you’ve done
Well Stated-slightly modified- A World Class Band ! Thanks for the Post!
I badly would've gone to one of the Last Domino concerts with Phil, Nic, Mike and Tony cause they must been have so fabulous.
Omg Nic is incredible
This literally gave me chills...thanks for sharing, December 8th can't get here soon enough!
Pavarotti, Glenn Hughes ...
He damn did sound pretty damn good! Much better than I expected! ♥️
For me is not sad at all. I Hope I were like him as an old man. Everyone Will be an old man someday...Happy or not Happy thats the difference.
Johnny Cash's last performance is even sadder.
Went to see Genesis last night at the 02 arena and they smashed it....AWESOME...
Happiness? He looks like he's suffering. What's wrong with people?
the drummer is just awesome!!! incredible energy a time.
Thanks Phil for all the music you have given us.
I spent my whole life listening to this band it's nice to see they still get at their best. It kind of looks like they set it up like the seconds out tour
I will be going to see Genesis in London in November I cannot wait what a band Love them all Love Phil❤❤❤❤❤❤
As someone whos first ever concert was three sides Nassau coliseum NY as a very young teenager (which I vividly remember sitting behind the stage.. and is still one of my favorite concerts of all time..) I'm glad they are continuing the legacy however they can .. Though I admit I miss seeing Chester Thompson up there sharing the stage.
