- SpaceX launched 46 new Starlink satellites from Space Launch Complex-40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Feb. 21, 2022. The first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket landed on the "A Shortfall of Gravitas" drone ship minutes later in the Atlantic Ocean. Full Story: www.space.com/spacex-starlink...
It was the 100th landing of a Falcon 9 rocket first stage.

I never get tired of watching these launches and landings, I'm old enough to remember when the NASA rockets were blowing up at launch, and as a kid I used to dream about landing these rockets back on the earth, that was Space Angel, and, Fireball XL5 stuff...
I friggin love them. They always make my day.
Unbelievably well choreographed (:
Um... they made their 100th successful Falcon 9 landing on Dec 21, 2021 . Flight 134 with the CRS 24 mission to resupply the ISS. It landed on Just Read The Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean. Incidentally this was done on the sixth anniversary of their first landing which was Flight 20 Orbcomm OG2 M2, Dec. 21 2015.
🧐
Brilliant work , now if the government would just step back and let Starship fly ,and let space travel step ahead.
@@alfredmorganroth9349 they did choose starship to land on mars
Saw these satellites pass over my house this morning, it was extraordinary!
Incredible on 100th anniversary how routine ascent, landing, and associated callouts are.
Year 2022 and still no lag free videos.
Quit whining
Its speed just goes up like a rocket
Literally
LOL
NASA must be green with envy.
Good job...thanks for your sharing .
Great, but why they cut the transmition of the rocket landing in the last 1000 mts (or fts) and sudendly at 200 mts (or fts) for touch the land they turn the transmition again?
Perfect and nice thanks for Chanel and videos 🙏
The first stage is not using just the grid fins for steering. We can clearly see the cold gas thrusters in operation.
I caught that too. Technically, though, she's probably right - as the first stage comes into the atmosphere it is the grid fins are directly responsible for steering the stage. But if you image the first stage as a fast falling pencil, and you are only able to touch the eraser to change the orientation of the pencil's fall, her comment makes more sense - your finger steers the rock, but the cold gas thrusters allow the lower part of the rocket to line up with the direction set by your finger (the grid fins.)
Her comment didn't seem right, but it made me stop and think about it.
I saw the launch in cape it was awesome never saw it up close
Go SpaceX🚀
I need to know something. Watch on the right side at T+00:03:52. What is that walking or rolling under the silver part of the rocket? I watched it over and over and to me it looks like a fly or even a small car with wheels. Check it out for yourself
Every time it's amazes me.....!!!!
So when are they going to start recovering the second stage?
Yet the cut off the video link in space. Must be shot in IMAX studio which has edges.
Love from India
relanding these first stage vehicles is something of which I consider a technology miracle. I remember in the early 70's watching Star Trek and thinking ...there is no way these 'communicators' can contact a vehicle in space.. now we have it and are living it. People like Elon Musk need to be lifted up and supported wholeheartedly for the good they are doing to humanity!
As always a perfect landing for Falcon 9 , but when are they going to sort out the camera on the booster so it doesn't go off right on the landing moment,, it's a shame that it happens as it's a fabulous moment to see the booster complete it's return home.
better than NASA daaaarling
They can’t show certain camera views due to international privacy laws.
Seriously, what are those things rolling around on the top of the second stage engine? Check out 6:17
I’ve wondered that myself as I’ve noticed it on a few launches
It's frozen liquid oxygen vented out by the engines. It happens on every launch.
I think it was an errant snack wrapper. I could be wrong though....
Space x space x space fantastic
Damn, and Jeff was having such a nice President's Day until Space X did it all again and spoiled it.
Geez, those guys do make it look so easy!
Giddyup
6:40 - wrong. The thrusters we can see firing are also adjusting the attitude of the booster, i.e. steering it. Yes, the grid fins do help to steer, but their primary function is aerodynamic braking.
The narrator works at spacex, I think she knows what shes talking about
grid fins arent aerobrakes, their primary function is steering
@@andrew40085 Not in this case she doesn't. BTW, why are you afraid of apostrophes?
@@rattywoof5259 ua-cam.com/video/4_ePBpwMhns/v-deo.html In this official video at 9:02 you can see the same narrator at spaces headquarters
I dont think you know more about this than her
She is right "technically" They use the fins for steering. They use the thrusters for orientation.
Steering and orientation are not the same. One is changing the vehicles flight path, the other is keeping the vehicle upright until there is enough air to take over.
People differentiate between the two because arguing over minute like that makes you look like an ass.
And the fins are in no way "for aerodynamic braking."
Unless you are using it in reference to how they work, then yes. "Technically" they are air brakes.
Like how feathers on an arrow are also "air brakes."
Which again, arguing that point makes you sound like an ass.
Why do they cut the cameras of the landing?
They don't. The satellite link transmitting the video gets interrupted due to vibration from the rocket.
@@HoudiniGTP ahhh Thanks. I thought it might be that.
These are always beautiful videos. It amazes me how we have the technology to launch a rocket and guide it back to earth and land it and reuse it unmanned. I dream of going to space. Was never given the opportunity for a good education. Im doing the best I can with the opportunities given to me but still. Im not asking to fly anything to space just let me ride along.

How come the shuttle and capsules etc go through huge burn ups on re-entry, yet the first stage on the falcon doesn't?
Shuttles and capsules come in at orbital speeds, 1st stage never makes orbit and also does an entry burn to reduce speed as it enters atmosphere.
@@jalbador thank you. Just confusing how it all works. Shuttle always had to be right angle to avoid bouncing off the atmosphere. Seems non of this applies to falcon.
First stage just comes back touching Karman line..moreover it's speed is almost zero once it achieves maximum altitude after MECO..
on the contrary shuttle or capsules had to enter the armospere almost at the speed of 27000km/hour which itslef is a huge speed.
The more pertinent question would be why have you stopped furthering your knowledge and education?
@@joebanks3698 ffs man it may be a young kid give people a break for God's sake
Yay🎉🎊🥳
Well what a surprise, the feed was cut again. 🙄
Kinda like the first ironclad ships, the first paddle wheel steamers, the first sewing machines, ,the Model T and the first computers SpaceX's method of launching and recovery are a bit awkward and clunky BUT the job is getting done. I'm hoping SpaceX refines its techniques and put manned and unmanned craft higher, faster and farther, there are so many opportunities in deep space waiting for us.......
Ganda cute and 👍
Anyone see this item fly by the left window, near the left wing of the rocket? Thoughts on what this could be? ua-cam.com/video/ARuElTaiIOU/v-deo.html
Probably some ice. The lox is cold.
Don't these rockets and fairings have a microSD in them? I'd pay to see the WHOLE launch produced in 4k even if it's months later. The Falcon Heavy launch would be on a constant loop in my office! I'd gather the family around like it's one of those Planet Earth shows.
I wanna go to Mars with Elon.
The real count on landings is 107. Not 100
Hi, I search this channel hardly but still successfully and come back
Hey SpaceX don't let NASA know how well and cost effective you are!! Watch the swamp monster panic!!
Just for the UA-cam algorithm.
History being made.
All these landings and still the video issues, no wonder why people say it's photoshopped

The amount of "trash" you can see while the booster is reorienting itself for re-entry is amazing. It's not enough that we pollute the planet, we have to make our orbital plane a junkyard too.

More litter in orbit....
How is this litter?
They even cut off the live feed before the landing haha. It failed
How did it fail? You literally see it standing on the droneship.
It's funny that the camera doesn't pixelate from vibrations and heat upon liftoff but then pixelates like crazy from the same vibrations and heat when landing. Where's the logic in that?
Must be a chinese made camera from a sweat shop.
It's not the cameras, it's the signal from the cameras being interrupted.
Spacex is doing amazing but Starlink will soon run into a major controversy because it will cause tremendous space congestion at this rate. Other countries may not even be able to launch through the narrowing windows.
No, there’s tons of space up there. It’s not going to be an issue. And Kessler Syndrome is irrelevant as the satellites are in a naturally decaying orbit
1st
2nd
This is getting a bit boring, can't you guys shift around a little bit the sequence of events to make it more exciting? Like, stage separation first and then liftoff... or something like that.
Haha that made me chuckle….you lot believe anything shown to you from Spacex
What's to believe when it's real

I wonder why, Every time the 1st stage lands, the picture always seems to go out just before touchdown.. Something they don't want to the public to see ?
Maybe these stages are really crashing, and they don't want to admit it.. Sure seems strange, to be sure.....
It was explained already... no they are not fake dont be so naive :)
SpaceX made an entire video showing all of their failed landings. They have nothing to hide.
they landed one without it cutting out in january
most times. not every time.
They ferry it back for all to see. And it's just the live feed that cuts, they have the landing recorded for every touchdown.
All that space trash... sad!
The cgi and holographic projections are getting better ...lol

There's no such thing as a holograph .
It's a hologram .
These sfx shows use holographic projection to beguile the gullible while these charlatans like nasa ,spacex ,the esa etc etc.steal billions of dollars of tax payers money .
The more intelligent amongst the population see through this fakery and are asking the most important question of all...
"WHAT have these con artists really been spending all the space budgets on since the 1950s"

One of the many nefarious black projects financed using these stolen trillions is called
Project Blue beam .
This technology allows full 3d holograms to be projected onto any area .these projected, moving holograms look solid ,look real and

If you're referring to camera cuts there are none. The viewer filming this is filming what he's seeing .the whole thing is a blue beam holographic projection. The tech is improving all the time. Thanks for taking the time to reply ethan .
Feel free to ask any questions.
I apologise ethan ,there are many cuts in this blatant cgi video..
I thought you were referring to a different video filmed on a spectator's camera.
I say bullshit, Yet again the landing was missed, Watching this live I could have bet my pension that the camera feed would be lost..... EVERY time, come on, they can land on a tiny ship but not video it live from a ship nearby....? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
A few good times the live feed did not cut, and they have non-live recordings of all these events. They send an empty ship, and return with a big a*s rocket. What do you think is being faked here?
You can go and watch the land landings yourself
No kidding!! If they are so “Fake” go watch them in real time and then FINALLY u will believe it. Pathetic, grow up.
