Oh my, Mike! As a retired Fire Investigator, please listen, running your freezer with a rolled up extension cord is bad as bad gets. If you must use extension cords, use a minimum of a 12ga wired cord, cut it you length that is needed. I have seen many fires that were the result of extension cords left rolled up like your doing. Plus, this will add longevity to the life of the freezers. The cords add amperage draw, which causes heat buildup. Be safe my friend.
Please listen to him! Rolled extension cords run hot!
Thanks for the info.
For my refrigerator, I use a special appliance extension cord, so you have good advice.
Blackie
As a retired firefighter. I agree don’t use extension cords
The fact that you are a hockey fan has made me enjoy your channel even more.
LOL Thanks Dean.
Mike - I'd suggest a "whole house" emergency generator. If you get one for only 110, they are fairly cheap. If power goes out, all your freezers will safely run. They can run off propane or natural gas. Have one in my house (we lose power a lot) and it's the best thing ever. You have too much money in those freezers to take a chance on its loss.
I know about the PVC pipe and hose trick. I worked many years ago at a riding stable and a short piece was used to fill the horse tank. Also a landlord set me up years ago with PVC pipe to use with a PVC pipe to fill my horse tank. Great trick and fills the tank faster.
The spots the little gost has, might be what they call moonspots :) He is lovely :)
yahoooo Monday video happy holidays brother you and your family from the imperial county California 👍👍🇺🇲
Same to you Francisco! Glad ya liked the video!
The new Baby is adorable....Maybe call him Eddie...after the "Bluetti", since they both where the Highlight of this video. Really glad the power source will supply the ranch what it needs to maintain the freezers. Sure is easier and quieter than a Generator. Stay warm.
Thanks for the name suggestion. Your not kidding generators are so loud! Thanks for watching Linda.
Those goats have such a personality, it's awesome! I love how you always find a way to use everything that is on the ranch. Everything has a purpose some way or some how. Thanks for another interesting video. Have a great week, OWL!
Cute baby kid. My name suggestion is Cinder. ❤Wyoming 🇺🇸
The Bluetti seems great. I actually have an Ecoflow River Pro and a larger Duracell. They are great for remote things like my Treager or for tools or my remote Video System. Maybe keeping a heater, computer… and some lights going during a power failure. That being said, with the number of freezers you’re dealing with, wouldn’t you be better off with a Propane or Natural Gas Generator, like a Generac that could power all of them.
Love the wall of license plates. WOW. That must have taken a while to collect.
OMG! That's way to cute seeing your pig climb on the side of the water trough. I hope they behave and don't destroy the PVC pipe. Thank you so much for sharing your new addition to the Ranch, cute baby- stay warm and safe
I hope so too, but pigs will be pigs! Glad you liked the video Laura.
Baby goat has white spot on its side, they are called moon spots. Good name would be lunar
Thanks for the suggestion.
That little goat is super cute.
5:40 beautiful scene.
Spot yep spot is a good name for the baby goat
Thanks for the name suggestion.
Good old gravity. Great system Mike.
Thanks Mags.
Hi Mike Erin & kids, that little goat is just precious. He is so cute.Interesting video as always.Have a nice week & stay warm & safe!🎄❤️🎄
Thank you very much Linda. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
You always have good info. Thanks.
you need to keep the bluetti dusted off. keeping it clean of dust prevents fan failure in the future
Eddy is a good name for your new kid
Glad to the new goat on the ranch. The power supply is pretty darn good. Take Care and Be safe the ranch. Out
With those spots, name him Domino👍👍👍
Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Mike
I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO MIKE 😊
Glad ya liked it Randy.
Love the goat. Thank you for sharing your information with us.
Thanks for watching!
Looked like the Bluetti is doing fine on keeping the power on for the freezers. The new baby goat is a cute one for sure, Dutch sounds like a good name for him. Nice advice on the water pipe addition of pvc pipe to help keep the water from freezing. Good luck on the rest of the chores for the up and coming week. Have a good night!
Thanks Dan, and thanks for the name suggestion.
Thanks for sharing our wyoming life I hope you have a great week
Thanks, you too!
Your welcome our wyoming life and thank you
Might also test the in the summer.
Good idea!
Plus stuff a rag in the opening were you put the hose it
Not a bad idea Ken. The rag will keep the hose in place for sure.
You just named him when you said he has a 'Spot'.
Did you ever try a fish tank bubbler to see if can prevent stock tanks from freezing over? Rolling water shouldn't freeze until it's crazy cold.
Nice edit, Mike. Thanks for sharing. -EZ
Thanks for the name suggestion EZ. Did a test years ago and every tank test froze to some degree. Except the one with the tank heater it only froze around the edges as I remember. Have a good week EZ
I agree with Spot😊
Mike has got some good plumbin skills. Good idea 👍
LOL now thats funny! I do try though
Call the little goat SPOT !!!
Blitzen for the baby goat great name for Christmas season baby goat I think,,,,,, Blitzen is so cute
Thanks for the suggestion.
Can get any other name outta my head. After I heard "SPOT" that was it. Im nominating "Spot" for the baby's name!
LOL I understand how that happens. Kinda like getting a tune in your head!
@@OurWyomingLifeYup.... When I saw you point out the white spots on your new baby goat..... I said to myself...... "Self.... Spot would be a good name for that new baby goat!" Thanks for a great video Mike!
That baby goat looks like he could be named Pip Jr. 😊
Thanks for the name suggestion.
Call him Checker!
Black jack so cool love goats
Thanks for watching.
I noticed Orion's Belt at the beginning of the video. Orion would be a noble name for the kid. ❤️🇨🇦👍
Thanks for the name suggestion.
Cubic feet. Those freezers will hold their temp for a long time, especially if they have a substantial mass of frozen product. Since they are chest style freezers, they don't dump their cold air when the lid is open.
Agreed. Thanks for watching.
you need to try the other freezers on battery as well. One 41 cu ft freezer may take a lot less power than 4 that total 41 cu ft. also try it in July when the temperature is much hotter. My idea for a name is Bart as in Black Bart.
a name suggestion for the baby goat. Blackberry.
Nice little black goat. Liquorice is a beautiful name or what about Shadow?
Thanks for sharing another video everyonehave a bless day/night see you next time on Our Wyoming Life hugs and prayers everyone❤❤❤❤😊
Thanks so much Wykeisha. Have a good week.
A standby Generac generator will supply your entire Ranch
Call him snatch.... what a cutie😊
Thanks for the names suggestion.
Those pigs are going to be rough on that pipe, lol. Might try painting the pipe with the hottest hot sauce you can find to discourage them biting it.😊
Thanks for the tip!
Very informative video! Loved the new water system for the pigs! It looks as if your new baby goat has 'moonspots'! He's precious! I want to cuddle with him😂! Thanks, Mike, for a great video🇺🇸❤️!
Aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww the baby Goat is so, so cute.😂
Definitely "Spot"
Mike, you don't necessarily need a coupler for your PVC pipe to reach the pig waterer if the pipe is long enough. You can use a heat gun on high to curve it., Use a couple of short 2x4s nailed together on an angle to put the curve against while the pipe is warm, to avoid kinks. When you don't need to use it, and want it out of the way, you can lift and store it against the wall with the strapping as a hinge.
Thanks for the tip Californiadreamer.
Call him freckles.. 😂
How about naming the baby goat 🐐 Eddie. From Mike Calderon From west Texas.Love your videos.Stay warm and God bless you.🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the names suggestion.
DOT a great name for the goat
Thanks for the name suggestion.
Little guy looks like a "Midnite Moon Spots"
Run your pipe up towards the ceiling and come straight down for the water!
I may do that? Gonna see what happens.
Cubic feet is what you're trying to say. And, you'll find that the fuller those freezers are the less power they will use to keep them cold.
Yes, Cubic Feet was the 2 words that escaped me at the start, but later I got it out. Your right the fuller the better. Thanks for watching.
Oreo or domino is interesting names as well.
Cute Goat, Man..
Thanks Mark
You need to name that goat Delmer he just looks like a Delma
LOL Thanks for the suggestion.
He is cute.👍❤️🇨🇦
Thanks Denise.
Where are the other horses that was in the steer pasture
How about blitzen for the baby goat 🐐 as he was born during the run up to Christmas 🎄 😊
Baby goat- Triton
Mike, you called Momma "Cruella" so I guess you could call her baby boy "Baroness von Hellman".
spot the baby goat
OMG, that baby goat is way too cute! Cuter than Pepper. You could call him Toto. I hope you allow us to download a pic of him for our desktops, before he gets too big. Nice job fixing the water solution. Hope this works well these coming cold months.
Great idea, I will tell Mike about your idea and see if he can get that on the website.
Matt txt'd me and I will see what I can do.
@@OurWyomingLife I have the one for Pepper. Its awfully cute!
A little late for this installation, but we use a LOT of PVC pipe for many things. Heat gun will warm that up enough that you can bend it to just about any shape.
Yes, a heat gun could have been used, but this was a fast proof of concept kinda deal.
Hey Mike, the new baby goat looks like he has a bar code on his side. Cute name?
I thought you did a video about that already
Call him spot or patch
Thanks for the suggestion.
Mike put that water line for the hogs against the wall and get yourself a hinged down spout end then you can slide it over the pvc and flip it out of the way
Thanks for the idea. Gonna see how this works out for now. Thanks for watching Brian.
What happens if the power is out for more than 24 hours?
Then Plan B, which would probably involve using generators.
Because it's close to Christmas you could name him Elf, Jingle, Chris, Rudolf (Rudy for short), or Star.
Thanks for the names suggestion.
Baby goat name: MOON
Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Mike how are you doing?
Doing fine Liz, hope you are too.
I say Glenn lol since its a male name and Glenn Close played Cruella back in the 90's 😂❤
New goat name Bah Bah.
Thanks for the name suggestion.
How long will a freezer keep meat frozen if you do not have a backup?
The new goat... 99% black... name should be Midnight
Thanks for the suggestion.
Interesting and informative video, thank you. We have labrador retrievers and the little extra curl of fur at the end of the tail is called a twizzle. How about the name twizzle? Or Twinkle, black with a few stars shining.
LOL Thanks for the suggestion.
I understand you are getting paid for bluetti stuff but i was looking at them. They are nice but jeesh twice as much as my tiny super quiet honda gen which i bought instead. Almost as small too. I loke lifepo4 batteries but charging is a pain in my full time rv life so i opted for a honda gen 2200i.
Yes for what you use it for for back up if power went out in night you would have power immediately. I always know when i have an outtage and all i need to do is plug in a chord and pull the chord once. No big deal
Name him Tipton. He has a white tip on his tail. ❤🫶❤️ North Carolina 🇺🇸
Thanks for the suggestion.
With the round white spot on his side, I would have said Luna, it that’s for a girl. I think for a boy you should name him Moony. Which reminds me of Harry Potter, so Lupine is another option. Y the way, he is absolutely adorable!!
You could put the meat in a man made snowbank. In the summer you would use the Bluetti.
Yes, thats one of the options for a power loss during the winter and summer. Thanks for watching Michelle.
Moonspots 😍
Thanks for the suggestion.
@@OurWyomingLife 🥰
Protect your freezers with a whole home generator. Worth the one time cost.
That is and option i have not explored.
Mr.Wy
Thanks for the suggestion.
Will the pigs jump,IN the water tank ?
No Christmas lights? 🎄
No, not yet. Maybe soon?
I think his name should be Moonbeam, and those are called moon spots on the side of his body
Thanks for the suggestion.
Moon shadow for the baby because I think those white spots are called moon spots?
How about sooty for baby goat
How about some portable solar panels .plugged into the portable eddy
How about real panels plugged in to it? 😁
Careful mom doesn't get her horns stuck in panel.
Has happened as of yet. As long as her baby is by here we're ok.
How about NUGGET as a name for that precious little goat. Puts me in mind of a nugget of black coal.
Midnight
well by rights as long as things is solid frozen in the freezer and its not opened and closed beef should hold for 3 days easy.
I believe so too. Keeping an eye on the temp will be key also.
PVC Elbow
This may or may not be permanent. Im sure it will be modified some over time.
Maybe midnite would be cute
Thanks for the suggestion.
I was thinking about 48 %.
Thanks for the names suggestion.
