More SFV chars should have been like Ibuki in which there are a lot of diff possibilities and longer combos, but not as much combo length as SF4, so the game stays oriented towards footsies and not setplay, while still having considerable character depth
These "diff possibilities and longer combos" is what Capcom said they didn't really want when they were developing SFV. This is because they want the game to be catered towards casuals (yet they release it incomplete for Capcom Pro Tour). Ibuki is probably the most technical character in the game right now.
well, I think they should continue with characters like ibuki, in the sense that she does have pretty difficult combos to master, but you dont really need them in an actual match. Like, her bnbs are all pretty simple. Urien and Juri look that way too. I think what they are trying to do is make the difficulty of the game grow with time so the players can adapt slowly, which I find really clever.

I think using too many kunai to combo contributes too much to scaling. Some of these look like they should be doing much more damage. I realize the purpose is just to be flashy, just an observation I made.

With v trigger i get 381 damage no meter, 558 damage with super, is there anything better? what about without vtrigger? I haven't found much without. Also, what are my optimal confirms for my jump ins? which buttons can i confirm from neutral? any help much appreciated
Man Ibuki is so much fun in this game, but man, outside of V-Trigger combos she's awful, she can't punish anything outside her Standing LP range, and even then if she's at the end of her jab range she can't do anything because the MP whiffs. She's my favorite character but she was made around hard knockdowns before but now if she finally gets in all her combo enders, or even your throws, out them outside your attack range and you can't follow up.
You're right she depends so much on V-trigger combo, without it she is not a big deal :/ I was Ibuki main on SF4, but they changed so much that she became such a newcomer character. Unlike Alex and Guile, they are still the same with a bunch of new good tools, Ibuki on SFV got a Huge Nerf in my opinion.
Paulo Cesar Da Silva I get that they don't want Vortex characters, but they just gutted her moveset and gave her shitty normals. She got the same treatment as Zangeif and I hate it so much
I'm scared to try her vs. a living person, but have you tried doing instant air HP/MP kunai (of course, use light version in some situations too) to force a block and begin pressure? I feel she is supposed to do this at the start of the fight to poke and fish for crush counters via sweep and f.HK to build V-gauge and then restock kunai when she has V-Trigger to do 1 of the combos Desk just did. If you haven't tried this, then pls try it and see how it goes. I'd love to read your feedback. Her enders are so you can restock and also, st.LK is your friend.
PSMii You can do that, but you have to hit them near there feet with it, otherwise they recover before you land. Using her sweep is a serious risk because she is a low health/stun character and if they block you can take ALOT of damage for it. Her Cr.Mp > F.HK target combo is a good frame trap, but if you use it your negative so you get up the ability to continue pressure, and the input is so so close to the DP motion that you can get auto correct Do which obviously you can be punished for. Trust me man i'm trying really hard to find out the reason you should pick this character over any other character, but I just can't find it and it bothers me so much

cross kunai is gone, unless you got a crush counter sweep, even so the timing to do it is fucked...
