I love hearing Jaymes casually talk pop culture history while doing hair. I feel like I’m sitting in the salon and over-hearing conversations.
I would love to see a Dusty Springfield wig! She had such an iconic look - looks really...the huge bob, the updo, the mile high teasing w/hairpieces out the back, the Burt Bacharach specials...oh my! I had her picture on my wall in highschool, I thought she was so fab even tho' she was before my time, she was ahead of hers!
Oh lawdy. I had the Farrah Fawcett 'do' (dark hair though) for my wedding day 1982. I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world on that day. Aah memories.
I bet you were!!! Every bride is
My mom passed away from breast cancer when I was 3 years old. She would wear wigs that were in Farrah hairstyle before she lost her hair she would always wear her hair in the same style. I loved to see this and hearing all the facts about Farrah since im a 90s kid I don't really know much about her thank you!! You did amazing with the wig styling! ❤
The Burning Bed was also extremely controversial in that it put domestic violence in the spotlight. It’s hard to believe but most people didn’t believe domestic violence was an issue. So to put it in the face of America and with the iconic Farrah Fawcett was ground breaking.
It was an important film.
The Burning Bed story happened in my town when i was a little, and my high school drama teacher wrote the screenplay! Farrah really was THE 70s.
Hope cow! That’s nuts!
Thank you for bringing Ms Farrah to the iconic blondes house Jaymes. That lady truly was a movement in fashion, hair, beauty, and talent. You look like you had fun with the final look.💖💖💖
This is probably the hairstyle I do all the time and I can’t see myself doing anything else. I fell in love with it years ago and never turned back!
Classics don’t go out of style 💕💕
and girl , it looks amaze!!!!
@@485OCEAN thank you so much!
🙋🏻♀️ I still rock the Farrah hair. I’m a brunette but I have a similar curl pattern and it’s just an easy way to style it. I get compliments, but even if I didn’t I’d still do my hair like this because it’s just easy.
It’s a good look!!!
@@JaymesMansfield tbh I feel my most confident when I’m channeling my inner Farrah.
I’ve been told throughout my life that my unkempt blonde-ish waves were reminiscent of Farrah, but I never knew that much about her. Good to know I’m being compared to a girlboss instead of a girl-bummer
LUCKY!!!
This feels like an early Christmas gift! Farrah Fawcett has to be my FAVORITE iconic blonde. I wish I had been around in the ‘70s to witness Farrah as the true pop culture icon she was. Thanks for doing her justice Jaymes!
I just noticed that the Farrah Fawcett red swimsuit poster has its own, fairly lengthy, Wikipedia page. Great job on the hairdo! My favorite version of the Farrah 'do is the daughter Lulu in John Waters' Polyester.
Yesss lulu had a great look
OMG iconic blondes I can't believe it. I love being edumacated by youse. You are the most beautiful woman in the world.
When Cheryl Ladd came on to Charlie’s Angels she had a T-Shirt made that said Farrah Fawcett-Minors as a play on Farrah Fawcett-Majors (she hyphenated when she married Lee because he was a fragile man) and it was Cheryl’s way of breaking the ice with the other girls and making a joke about her coming in to play Jill’s little sister and also showing respect to Farrah’s choice to quit and that nobody could replace her.
My high school guidance counselor in the early 80s had a Farrah. It was strawberry blonde and platinum front flip.
Gurl I could have done with this video a few months back when I (unsuccessfully) attempted to do a Farrah style on one of my wigs! At least now I can buy a new Girl and properly style her like this!
I have been WAITING for this one for so long! Her hair has always been one of my favorites
i love your storytelling, so soothing
A queen with a schedule? C'mon consistently queens 😏🤭😘
Dropped a new one today. 😁
I fucking loved Charlie's Angels... and yes, all the angels were fucking amazing. Farrah, Jacyln, Kate, Cheryl, Shelley and Tanya.
Tanya Robert’s!!!!!!
My brother had that poster. It was her swimsuit and she negotiated a great contract and made a lot of money off of it.
My favorite Farrah movie was Extremities.
😭of course you talk about Farrah just as of last night I got the news they found a mass on my kidney and liver after having cancer and being Chek2 positive and lost 80lbs. I love you James. I guess if I end up losing my hair I know where to come to for a wig or wigs to make me find my best Farrah..course with my Charlie Brown shaped head probably going to look like Stephen Fry in a wig but hey that's the fun of expirementation right!
It's Farrah Fawcett Mansfield.
Ernie could easily be Charlie!
The wig came out nice. I loved Farrah! That iconic hair is burned into my mind so strongly, I'll probably be able to do that style ten lifetimes from now. :-)
It's kind of crazy how she influenced so many people. I'm trying to think of any current celebrities that have that level of influence.
my godmother still wears her hair in farrah fawcett style 😳 and yes she is a hairdresser who lives in wisconsin!! and oh my gosh "gail" really perfectly pegs this type of woman, but its not just pick'n'save - theyre at logli's too :p
This is indeed the 70s hairstyle 😊 love to learn from for these iconic ladies
Fun fact-the three original Angels were all from the South. Jacklyn Smith and Farrah were from Texas and Kate Jackson was from Alabama.
My local Circle K has a cashier who has the Farrah Fawcett hair. There’s also a local Discount Drug Mart that has a cashier who rocks a power mullet. I absolutely love it; may the ladies continue rocking those iconic hairstyles with pride!
A classic never goes out of style
What really stroke a chord with me was the news. They were all like: Michael Jackson this! Michael Jackson that! Michael Jackson here! Ah, yeah .. and Farrah Fawcett passed away too .. anyway, Michael Jackson there!
IKR? I remember that 😒☹️
More celebrity biographies while doing their iconic hairstyles!!!
I’m an 18 yo guy and tbh, even I wear a Farah Flip 😭😭😭 Well my take on it.
I try to rock the Farrah hair from time to time.
❤️❤️❤️
I love ❤️ your videos, they’re so entertaining and always get me giggling. Absolutely love, love, love the classic Charlie’s Angels pose at the end!! ❤
I rocked the Farrah in high school
Jaymes if that wig was platinum it would be Carol Burnette Mrs. Whiggins character. Lol
Yaaas! It is! 😂❤
Next iconic blonde should be Brigitte Bardot ! Love you have great holidays
Talking about there being three major network channels Jaymes: You know why cable took off? Because they promised us if we paid the $8/month subscription fee then that would take the place of advertising, that we could "take back television". That's right...cable was a replacement for ad-saturated television.
Jaymes, I neeeeeeeedddd to see you doing Bridgitte Bardot for the series!!!
She’s coming, I gotta build arm strength up for all that teasing 😂
Oh, so Evita is next week??? Cool. You must be finishing that crochet snood.
Snood
Snood.
Lol
Farrah was and always will be my favorite "Angel" ❤
ur hair is unhinged😂 love farrah and her hair
edit: both hwigs 😂
Love your wig in this video
I had a Farah Fawcett haircut when I was 9yo, in the late 90s
I always adored her!
Watching you hack that wig with those scissors ( 30 year hairstylist ) almost got me gal. Pick that hair up and cut a line 😂😂😢😢❤❤ - back in the day there was a wig called The Farrah and it was fabulous 🎉. Love from Nashville
Hahaha as I tell my wig students when it comes to synthetic hair your powers are no good here 😂😂😂
@@JaymesMansfield 😂😂😂🫶🏼🫶🏼
Woot woot first!!! 💖 much love
🎉
Oh my. When I was in highschool gals had the Farrah Doo, especially the snooty cheerleaders. I couldn't see spending that much time every morning with the wash, blow dry, curling iron and hairspray. I remember the Dorothy Hamel Doo being very very popular... probably earlier. Loved you Jaymes'and I am gagged you remember me as an OG fan here.
PS the famous poster had the word sex written in her hair curls. I remember there being a rumour it was on purpose subliminal Farrah promotion. Remember Evita dearest. Lol.
Haha I’ve never heard that one! All I ever heard was how guys wanted it cause the bathing suit was see through
Haha I’ve never heard that one! All I ever heard was how guys wanted it cause the bathing suit was see through
Farrah! love Farrah! Also Jaymes Mansfield with an exaggerated Wisconsin accent is everything
You betcha!!
65th Its Jaymes Mansfield..the One, the Only Origonal WIG Whisperer.....MWAHHA! xo :) I remember my sister got that hairdo..... FF was also on an Episode of I Dream of Jeannie, One of her best rolls was that of a Abused Married Woman in The BURNING BED
You should add Suzanne Somers a la threes company to the list of iconic blondes
The pig tails Yass 🤭🤭❤️
R.I.P., Miss Snow 🩷 Her books are really interesting regarding her cancer struggle. She had a better outcome than Miss Fawcett. She was in remission for many years do to groundbreaking treatments and her push for good nutrition.
I need you to do a Nellie Olson wig
Farrah Fawcett styling head? From your lips to Charlie's ears! ;)
Finding one in good condition with its hair and makeup somewhat intact is so hard. Kids play too hard with those
LOVED Charlie's Angels! I got my husband to watch the whole series with me a few months back..He was OBSESSED!
I had a huge crush on Lee Majors at the time as a child, ooh, honey!
He was a hunk
@@JaymesMansfield that eyebrow thing he did, and running in slow motion with his shirt open. Yum!
I love this series 🩷🩷🩷🩷
💗
My crazy ex stepmom probably still rocks this hairstyle to this day
You make it sound like an Evil Honeypot Villain is a Bad Thing!
I was fortunate enough to have met her when she was doing the play Extremities Off Broadway.
Madonna brought it bk on the confessions tour
Awesome job!
I would love to see you do a blonde version of Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
I'm not taking about her famous up-do with the tiara.
My favorite style in this film was the ending where she's crying in the cab. Sort of a two-pony-tailed Amy Winehouse.
Again, thanks for the video.
I’ll take a look at it again and thanks for watching. 😁
@JaymesMansfield Asolutely! You are extremely talented, and I love the way you explain things in a way I can understand. I've learned a lot from you.
Please do RACHEL GREEN' s hair !
I getting more Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity than Farrah which might be were the evil blonde vibe is coming from.
The S1 filter is filtering! 😂 either that or I need glasses
The man behind the legendary hairdo was super hairstylist Jose Eber. He's also credited with another legendary blond hairdo - Linda Evan's look as Krystl Carrington in Dynasty.
Xoxo's from Israel
Wow another hairdo hall of fame
@@JaymesMansfield yasss
thank you - While Farrah got the credit it was the stylist who created it-
TINA TURNER 90S BOB!!! TINA TURNER 90S BOB!!!!! TINA TURNER 90S BOB !!!!
Can you do iconic redheads
Two things about Farrah. Near the end of her life, I believe after an intense medical session, her son was in trouble. that woman did everything she could just to get on a plane to go see her boy. She loved him greatly. Another interesting thing was farrah's son and her step son were very close. I can't remember what the incident was but the stepson's father was so mad he wouldnt let the two see eachother for a while. it was really sad. also this same stepbrother i had no idea was the prankster from the original April fools day horror film. He played the cousin who turned out to be Muffy's brother at the end of the film.
I KNOW A GAYLE WITH THE FARRAH FAWCETT LMAOOOOOOO
They’re all named Gayle 😂
Is there a link for the curl pattern?
When I was a kid , my uncle bought me a Farah iron-on tee shirt.(red bikini ) Typical 1970s . I wore it to Bible school. They called my mother to come pick me up.... No. , not a different shirt. I had to go. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️❤️
Follow up ... They permanently kicked me out when I asked "when did god ,make the dinosaurs? ". Seriously. Lol
All the boys wanted to eff her.... I just wanted to be her . ☠️
Iconic behavior
@@nobo764 the nuns who taught catechism when I was in grade school, late 1960s, got very bothered by questions. When asked how they knew if something was real or happened the answer was always faith. Count yourself lucky you got kicked out, the pastor was probably gonna fiddle with your bits eventually...
@@martha-anastasia it could have always been worse.
What in the beehive mullet are you wearing
(5:20) Great video! One correction: Lee Majors was not a big movie star. He was mostly known for televisions show and TV movies. 🖤
I left that in there just for you to catch 😂
Haven’t you done a Farrah video prior to this?
Yes but that was human hair and this is synthetic. lol
@@JaymesMansfield you are fantastic 💕🎅🏻
Have you made Charo yet? If not that's my request.
Not yet!!
I'm going to disagree with Jaymes on this one. The very front is all wrong for the Farrah flip. love your videos and like this one but this kinda look like Sabrina's Do but fluffier.
She had different variations lol
I agree Jaymes. She had a million versions. OMG can't believe you responded! I'm honored! Got a box of Amazon wigs I got from an Amazon return store. Nothing over 10 dollars. Would you like them? Even got a bag wig for a dollar. Would love to see what you do with it.
Have you thought of doing Lesley Gore? Now that's a queer icon.
Absolutely ❤❤❤
We lost Farrah and Michael Jackson on the same day.
Wish u invite Nina bonina Brown to do a collaboration , i like 2 See you together again ❤
Giiirrrrl...that hair looks like a mess. Love your work but dang. This one didn't turn out so hot.
Sad but true.
The girls are some haters today lol 😂
Didn’t the actress who played Lori Foreman die of an overdose? The most iconic made for tv movies of the 80-s The Buning BEd, and Not Without my Daughter.
That didn’t look anything like Farrah sorry James
You’re not a true Farrah fan. 😢
Doesnt look like farahs hair
At least I can spell her name right 🤭😂
@JaymesMansfield "It did look like her, so... nyah! 😝"
😆 It was really lovely, Jaymes 🩷
I remember Farrah well and fondly. However, competing with that flippin' poster was traumatizing to us young gals 🤣 One of my fave obscure films of hers was 'Saturn 3' with Kirk Douglas 😊
Thats not how you do layers gurl 😅
This is indeed the 70s hairstyle 😊 love to learn from for these iconic ladies
