I think I have watched this new video around 6 times! I never seem to get tired of your videos or those gorgeous Adk.Jewels that are wearing such gorgeous fall outfits getting ready to do their thing soon. Fish don’t get any prettier than these native brookies come spawning time. Thanks again Bryan for yet another well orchestrated and informative video on the “how to’s” on flyfishing for these gems! Always patiently waiting for your next one! Tightlines bud!
Good point about casting to the tail first. It amazes me how many brookies (oftentimes the biggest) are posted up in 4-8" of water in the tail that you only find out about when they dart up the pool after you've spooked them.
Not related to this video but I have a question for you about the DB IN, I’m looking to pickup a rod for Erie tributary steelhead. In between the 4wt and 6wt, I want to be as light as possible facing loads of pressured fish in tight water. What do you think would be best?
@@keepuswild. The 6wt is designed for Great Lakes Steelhead. I think it will be good on small or big tribs and handle smaller or larger steelies. I haven tried the 4wt but the 6wt was designed for the exact purpose you have. It does not feel heavy.
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany I purchased the 4wt, we will see how it goes. I have seen many people using the 4wt for PA and OH trib steelies, I am in OH. I may grow to regret not having a little extra backbone, but that is in due time. Once I get it out on the water I will comment on a later video and let you know how I like it!
@@keepuswild. Yeah... definitely let me know how you like it! Devin Olsen from Tactical Fly Fisher has mentioned before that the 4wt would be suitable for steelhead. I have the 2 weight and it is surprising how well it handles big fish!
Dude. Please stop with the doom and gloom. You caught some beauties today. If you hit a hole and it doesn't produce, guess what, that's fishing. I catch one fish and I'm the happiest guy in the world. Love your videos but kinda hard listening when you are a bit whiny. Stella scenery, beautiful little stream..take it all in. Tight lines.
I appreciate the comment and you are right about appreciating everything around you. My videos lately are more educational than just trip and entertainment videos (I have plenty of those on my channel). My purpose in the last several has been to show the stream experience and the process of "figuring things out". I could have edited that stuff out from the hours of video I took, but I chose to leave it in for the authentic and realistic experience. I think seeing someone go through that in a day and figuring things out is important to the overall learning experience for people that there is always an opportunity to learn in every experience. I get a lot of comments from people who experience much more frustration and feel like they're not figuring things out. I wanted my videos to be authentic. I certain do appreciate the beauty and wonder of the places I'm in which you'll know if you follow me but the frustration was not about "catching' fish but the concern of the health of the stream compared to just 1 year ago. I'm very protective of these little places and I want to see the fish doing well. I've never seen such long stretches on this stream with no activity before.

Thank you, Jim! You're the best! :)

Exactly! Work your way up and you won't miss fish!
I love small streams like this in NH and VT. Great video. Brookies are super aggressive and attack everything.
Ya gotta love how aggressive they are! They have to be to survive in that small of an environment.
Thanks for the information.
Thanks for watching!
love that tannic water
Yeah... the VT and Catskill streams I fish are not like that at all. But the ADK streams are almost all tannic.
I just small streams like this one. Thank you for a beautiful video
Thank you. I love these streams too.
Great vid. Thanks for giving me my fish fix for the day
You're welcome! :)
Another awesome video great job!!
Thanks, Alvin! Just about to watch your new video now :)
Really enjoy the live informative video!!
Thanks.. I'm glad you like it.
Wonderful soft rod!
Yeah... It's great for the small streams. I really love it.
There's just something different about Adirondack brookies, their appetite, their fight and definitely their colors.
Yeah... I totally agree!
