- In this video I discuss the Walt’s Worm pattern. I talk about it’s versatility and it’s endless variations. I then show you how to tie two different versions of it - one more traditional and the other (often called a Sexy Walt’s) less traditional.
Materials for the first:
Hook - Umpqua U202
Bead - MFC 2.4mm Tungsten Copper Bead
Thread - UTC 70D Brown
Rib - UTC Small Copper Wire
Dubbing - Natural Squirrel Hair
Materials for second version:
Hook- Umpqua U202
Bead - MFC 2.4mm Tungsten Black Nickel Bead
Thread - UTC 70D Pink
Rib- Semperfli Perdigon Body in Iridescent Purple
Counter Rib - Umpqua 6x Mono Tippet
Dubbing - Hareline Ice Dub in UV Brown
ALSO, as announced in the video, I will be doing a tying demo at Little River Outfitters in Townsend, TN on Sunday, March 3rd. If you are in the area, come see me tie. They also have a full lineup of fantastic local anglers, guides, and tiers doing demos most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the colder months. I will be attending many of these, and recommend you do the same if you can! You can find the lineup here:
