Lived in those same barracks at Warren back in 1969. The rooms then had a bunk bed, a desk and a couple of chairs and two small built in wall closets. No kitchen area or private bath. TV room was in the basement along with a couple of washer and dryers. Couldn't wait to move off base. If this was my living area, you have now, I might have re-enlisted.
Like a five star hotel .Attended tech training back during the mid 50's for six months All barracks were WW2 vintage 2 story wood . I remember one of the brick buildings that I think housed the motor pool but in the old days was a stable . Had " dismount before entering " on the header over the entrance .
WOW! What an upgrade FE Warren did to the dorms since 1994. I kid you not that your kitchen/living room area was shared by 2 people back in the day. The bathroom separated 2 dorm rooms and we only had a shower stall and a toilet. Each room did have its own sink.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I was stationed at Warren back in the day. It obviously has changed a lot since. I was just telling my friend that was also there how cool it would be to tour the base and Cheyenne. Appreciate you doing this and Thanks for your service 😊👍🏾
Back in the day like 1971 we had 2 men to a room and a common bath area for each wing and floor. Had to live off base to get those kind of accommodations.
I was stationed there in 1989 at the Security Forces dorm. So much has changed. They still have Cheyenne Frontier Days at the park there? I remember the Cheyenne Frontier Mall off Del Range Blvd. And another major Hwy. Lincoln Way Blvd that goes through town. I was on a RF (Response Force Crew) vs the Camper Crew that was posted at the missile sites. We worked in Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming 3 days on 3 days off schedule. Ft. Collins is 30 minutes away and Denver 99 miles away.
That was the Form Building I was in. You guys got it made now days. We just had rooms and common latrines fot the wing we were in. I had it made, was in a upstairs corner room accross from the gym and had my own fridge and tv. Thus was in the mid 70s
Speaking of wind….I was there visiting sometime in the last 6 years, and my car door blew into my arm and left a huge bruise. Then I heard about people had had their car doors blow completely off! Since I was in a rental, am I glad it hit me and didn’t blow the other direction!!
I was stationed there in 1972 1973 we had one room two occupants no we didn't have a desk all we had was two lockers two beds the shower was down the hall they room down the hall with the TV and we stay way out there almost like the boonies I sure like what they did since I've been there
Nice video, was my first operational back in 2007. Met my wife during inprocessing, that's right, when I was INPROCESSING. In FSS, so I know what life's like at the MAF. Actually, it was fun because you generally work with the same crew, ART, FM (Facility Manager); like cooking for a large family 3 times a day - bonded as family. You said you're CEF, so, don't hold yourself to have to do a vlog once a week. Depends on what happens day-to-day, or the ops tempo, sure it's changed in the last 12 yrs or so. enjoy your stay and make it as amazing as you can.
Appreciate the words sir! Im glad you included the "CEF" part. I just have been so busy on getting my initial training completed and knowing my job so youtube has been a little slower right now. So far enjoying it and can't wait to experience more.
Ralph. Excellent video! Lots of changes since I was stationed at Warren back in the sixties. Curious to know what is the building number that you filmed the video. Thanks.
Could you give me a little bit more info on the "cop" dorms? I'm going to FE Warren as secfo soon. Also I heard to watch out for hail there as I don't want my car to get messed up, do you have any recommendations for that?
I will be making a video with a friend of mine thats secfo out here that I'm sure will be helpful for you. As for the dorms, it can vary. In this video, one of my roommates was a cop. Lastly, the hail is a hit or miss. For us in the dorms there isn't much we can't do about it. it wasn't too bad this year(also my first year) but my car still got a couple dings.
So people in Security Forces don’t get a room to their selves? I’m in DEP and I’m most likely gonna get SF and one of the main reasons I joined the USAF was to get a room to myself
I know this comment is a year old, but yes you can go off base as you please. Most jobs in the Air Force are 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. When you're off duty you can do what you want (including traveling off base) no permission needed. Most places if you want to go more than 6 hours from the base you need to take leave. I'm an active duty recruiter, been in for almost 9 years. Hope this helps.
ps the ones i saw on line have been remodeled.. have own bathroom and kitchen? what????? we shared bathrooms community style and kitchen.. yeah right.. we had a tiny room with a bed and a desk. i had a window...it was a big deal.........you guys are spoiled. milleniials
"It is not the biggest room, but it is not the smallest room either". That is a small room, sir. Expecially when you're questioning if you can fit something bigger than a twin bed in there. Or its being a room where you're spending most of your time in because the living room, kitchen, and laundry room is being shared with 3 other strangers
Amazing, goes in to room and still sleeping on twin/full sized bed like still in college. Smdh. What a darn joke. How about get rid of two or those roommates and build a more spacious room so the adult airman who live there can have a proper sized bed.
I am beyond pissed I am being sent here after tech school. Middle of nowhere Wyoming. Probally one of the most bland state possible. And great. Another "dorm" setting where we are a sharing a living space with 3 other people, like we are still students, yet they are taking our entire BAH. If that is the case, I can live off base with 3 other roommates and pocket a good chunk of that money or collect some rent from them. What a rip off.

Man that dorm looks so cool! I hope I get Fire Protection once I enlist. Thank you for your service! Subbed
appreciate that bro!
Update?

Thank you for watching and thank you for your service as well
What's the commissary look like now? Curious.
Man the dorms are way nicer then they were in the 80's. They're like apartments now. Thanks for the tour and thank you for your service.
These dorms just got renovated a few years ago too. Thank you for your service and support
Not all dorms look this nice. The dorms in Italy are not nice at all.
Marty Matt what’s wrong with them
Back in the day like 1971 we had 2 men to a room and a common bath area for each wing and floor. Had to live off base to get those kind of accommodations.
Fire Protection is my #1 goal once I enlist to the AirForce in a few years! Keep up the good work!!

I watched your Nellis AFB dorm tour just prior to watching this room tour. Did you PCS to Nellis or were you there TDY? Great videos, BTW.
Just a TDY. Great base they have over there at Nellis. And thank you
Damn, I was in the Navy for 20 years, dorms in your situation are much better than navy ones.
A lot nicer now than they were back in 2000. Watch out for the ghosts!
haha those ghosts are no joke

Stationed there in the late 1980's 90 ces same dorm looks slot different now
Ralph. Excellent video! Lots of changes since I was stationed at Warren back in the sixties. Curious to know what is the building number that you filmed the video. Thanks.

Aye my brother-in-law lives on Warren. He’s an EOD
What internet provider do you have? And what are the options? And how do you get it setup? Sorry for a lot of questions lol.
So people in Security Forces don’t get a room to their selves? I’m in DEP and I’m most likely gonna get SF and one of the main reasons I joined the USAF was to get a room to myself
No they get a room for them self, they just share a kitchen and bathroom
Damn bro those dorms are way better then the ones here at Aviano.
Well you've got a better location so 🤷🏾♂️ there's gotta be an equilibrium somewhere haha
1 fridge for 4 people? That’s crazy, do you know if they let you have mini fridges in the room
Great video
Thank you!

Definitely don't have that anymore lol
Do you get to go off base and explore? Or do you have to get permission to leave base and go into town or what not?
I know this comment is a year old, but yes you can go off base as you please. Most jobs in the Air Force are 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Warren is the worst base in the AF.. its not the edge of the World, but you can see it from there. :P
I hated it when i was there in the 70s but now at my age, id love it
