Actually, Adam...a "trolly" or "trolley" must be powered by overhead electrical wires....the cable cars are not trollies. Great tour of various things in "The City", in this series....so much fun...I really want to go back again!
San Francisco is my hometown. Born and lived there for 26 years. I'll give you a little info. First, Cable Car and trolley are different. Trolley runs on overhead wire, Cable Car runs on underground cable. As a native I dont really care what it is called. Frankly that is the least of its troubles. I road the CA Street Cable Car to and from work for a while. I also worked on Pier 39 at a place called Neato Burrito ages ago. Always loved the sea lions. I left many years ago. Thanks for the video. Enjoy
I scratched this off my "bucket list" in 1998. I even got to clang the bell at the end of the trip! My travel buddy and I ate dinner on Pier 39 on a Saturday night. Went all the way to the end of the pier to see Alcatraz & the Bay Bridge before dinner. We also went over the Golden gate. Happy Birthday!!!
Wow, thank you both for these great San Francisco videos! You are so lucky to have Natalie with you Adam; nothing like a local to show you the sights. It’s also fun to be a tour guide, because you get to do the things you would never really do as a local and it’s fun to see a persons reaction to seeing things for the first time. You’ve made me miss The City so much 🥲 So beautiful, so much to see ♥️
Happy Birthday to you both 🎊 I remember when my buddy joined the US Coast Guard in 2000 at boot camp in Camp May New Jersey We drove cross country from Maryland to Orlando Florida to see his brother and sister and law and his new nephew, then drove to New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana to see my relatives. Then we drove to Las Vegas then drove to Los Angeles then we drove up on Pacific Coast Highway to Oakland and San Francisco and Alameda. His first Duty Station was on a High Endurance Coast Guard Cutter Sherman stationed off Coast Guard Island off Alameda. Driving on Lombard Street was so Awesome and the Pier 39 was Amazing as well as all the scenery along Pacific Coast Highway. Thanks for the Awesome video :)
Great video! Happy birthday to the two of you ! 🥳🎂🥂 I'm a native San Franciscan and it's so exciting to see you here. Other SF natives: Carol Channing and Danny Glover. Warning... don't leave anything in your car. Lots of smash and grabs happening mostly in the touristy areas. Otherwise enjoy your visit and have lots of fun!
Adam, what you kept calling cable cars are trollies and what you were calling trollies are cable cars. The cable is under the street and pulls the cable car up the hills. The wire above the trollies is for electric power.
Thanks for lettng us tag along ! ADAM & YOUR PAL ! The Architecture is stunning - I would to visit San Fransico - Wanted to ever since seeing The Streets of ... Alot changed - But theres a lot of Atchitectures still its wonderful self ! Thankyou once again !
Try living there. Not the safest place to be right now. Too much theft, car jackings, hate crimes, needles, shootings, homelessness, etc. everywhere. That's why I moved!
@@LifeInBama You seem like a really nice person, but take it from an SF native like me, the view isn't everything. The same thing happened to all those people in Florida living in Champlain towers south. They wanted the view only to pay over a million dollars for something that wasn't even theirs. Tragic how that happened. People need to LEARN...that THE VIEW isn't worth sacrificing human lives, especially pets, the elderly and children's. I definitely don't want to die simply to see a view in a high rise building. I'd rather take place in a single story home with a backyard with my family, pets and kids right next to me so I can walk outside everyday knowing they're going to be OK. God bless.
Have visited San Francisco many times over my life time. Before we were married back in the 70's for awhile my now husband had to work there for about a year. I went up on business with my company and he showed me all around. I especially remember China Town and the good, authentic food. Last time I was there was September of 2012 on a Disney Cruise. Two days and spent one walking around the pier area and the other was a tour of the Walt Disney Museum which was awesome!!!
We went there and it is definitely a gorgeous property 😍That’s more towards Morro Bay area though which is about 4 hours down the coast south of San Francisco They frown upon UA-cam videoing there. The allow only for personal use. If he hasn’t gone there, I agree he should go even if he can’t video.

Happy belated birthday to Natalie. Happy early birthday to you, Adam. I had forgotten a lot of the amazing parts of The City. I remember us going there and different places in California one summer during my growing up years. The winding road, Fishermen’s Wharf, the trolleys, etc. The Herbie Rides Again movie was In The City. The Full House show was based there. Y’all picked the perfect time to go. Glad y’all are there. It’s reminding me what all the city has to offer that I had forgotten about over the years. All good memories. Y’all stay safe. Can’t wait to see more.

High light of trips to San Francisco was riding the cable cars Trolly are the bus that are run on electricity by poles attached to the wires. My father use to drive both trollies and street cars in Cincinnati,
I am a native to CA but never went to SF except for business in the 80", but my last business trip was to Corte Madera in 2007, we took a ferry, across the bay and passed San Quenton.. dinner in the City near a bridge, not exactly sure what bridge. Best business trip ever.
They are cable cars not trolleys really which is the only place in the US that has this style of cable cars. Trolleys run off of electricity from a wire above it. Those trolley cars you rode in are called PCC cars and were made after WW2 to try and attract new riders as they looked like buses in the day
Hey Adam enjoyed one of your great throwback you tube videos when you and lovely Daphne prev visited San Fran..A lot of great refurbished trolleys and awesome sites out there..Enjoy..
6:14 Spent a lot of time on this stretch in the early 90's going to Illustration school at the Academy. Grew up in Daly City…it’s called a CABLE CAR…not a trolly…lol. enjoy hanging out in THE CITY. Don’t go through the Tenderloin….LOL. We call buses “the muni”. Don’t forget a Giants game and garlic fries…BART is the subway system

Happy birthday Natalie. I grew up in Oakland. Spent time in the City. Ok, what you guys rode first was a cable car. It’s powered by an underground cable. Your 2nd ride was a trolley, powered by overhead cables. Glad you enjoyed The City. Natalie is a great tour guide.
I have never been to San Francisco- it looks so beautiful. Love the architecture and waterfront area and the sea lions . This is now right up there on my bucket list! How great to have Natalie to show you around too. Looking forward to the next instalment already!
It’s always good to go to the Bay Area with someone who knows the place well. I was lucky enough to live there for 7 years, so whenever I go back on vacation (I try to go back every 2 years because I love it), with someone who doesn’t know the area, they feel more comfortable because I know where to go. Definitely my favorite place on earth. I hope to retire there in a few years. The whole Bay Area is amazing. From Sausalito and Napa, two of my favorites. To San Francisco itself. Just amazing and beautiful.
Oh, I think rather than Napa (can get really hot over there) you might like Sonoma County more. Somewhat cooler since we are closer to the ocean. Think "Bodega Bay" from "The Birds". Yes it's a real place.
You guys need to journey over to Napa Valley for some great wine tasting, good food and the beautiful scenery. Matter of fact it is the location of "Bliss" the world famous hill that appeared in Windows XP desktop wallpaper. Have fun guys!
Had a friend from high school and they had lived on Lombard. They had loads and loads of $$. It is Gear, that is why they have the gear in the neon sign. The yellow trolley are called PCC trolleys. They were designed by a Presidential Commission and used all around the country.
Oh! Thank you so so so much for this video! The city of San Fran has so many memories🥰! This is my favorite city in the US! I guess you could say I left my heat in San Francisco💜. I remember Alcatraz when they first opened for tours, guided by park rangers and we thought the audio tours were high tech when they came out and missed the interaction with the park rangers on the tours. Drive down Lombard street when it was always free! Walked fisherman’s wharf and watched pier 39 change over the years. They used to have a diving show at the end. Watching the performers in front of the Ghirardelli square 😄 so so so much Fun! I can smell the many wonderful smells unique to San Fran!
Hope you make it to the Disney Museum. Also Sausalito & Muir Woods. Another lovely area is Pacifica% The beach and rocks are so cool. A great restaurant ( breakfast, lunch & dinner ) is Nick’s. Note there’s also a Starbuck’s 😀 in the Stater Bros’s center, next to McD’s on Hwy 1.
Nice seeing both of you in my City! I was born & raised there! Still live in the Bay Area & haven't been back to visit in a long time after my mother passed away. You inspired me to make a trip to SF soon. Thanks for sharing this. Hope you guys get to Golden Gate Park & the Zoo. Cliff House by the beach is nice too!
Good post. FYI... they aren't "trolley" cars. They are "cable" cars which are moved by cables underground. Trolleys have electric motors powered by overhead electric wires. All good!
OH, Woo, Honey. Here in the SF Bay Area we do not call them trolley cars. They are Cable Cars. Anyway I love your stuff and am glad to se you came to see The City. I hope you had a great time!
It was such a gorgeous day up here yesterday. Though we live in the mountains of SC, we went down to Santa Cruz yesterday and it was so clear, could see Monterey perfectly. Cruised ( Cruzed?) The wharf and the Boardwalk, as well as downtown. Perfect weather!
Native San Franciscan's like me call them Cable Cars, never trolley cars. However, the ones with the electrified pole you call cable cars later on are trolley cars or electrified busses. Cable cars are literally pulled by cables under the ground. Those swimmers belong to the Dolphin Club which is an open water swimming club. Theire clubhouse is down by the wharf. If you are anywhere in Northern California and you say you are going to The City you know what they're talking about. San Fran and Frisco are the absolute worst. I feel the same way about Cali for that matter.
So glad to see the sea lions came back. I was there a few years ago and they had left the bay and no one knew why. I thought it was ominous like the sea lions knew something we don't. But they're back!!!
San Francisco forever baby! P.S. as a native San Franciscan and someone who has always and only ever lived here (well, South San Francisco) Natalie is right. We HATE when people call it, “San Fran” 😬 for me personally, I don’t mind “Frisco” because a lot of Bay Area rap addresses the city as Frisco. There’s also a car club called Frisco’s Finest. But a lot of people don’t like the name Frisco either. I just address the city, as the city, San Francisco, or I straight up just say SF.
Natalie, you’re an excellent tour guide!! Looking forward to seeing more of San Francisco. My daughter almost went to college in SF, pandemic curbed those plans.
👍👍2 thumbs up Adam & co- conspirater Natalie for going to San Francisco and visiting a few of the spots that i didn't see when I was there , have a great time 😀!
Happy birthday to you both! You should grab birthday drinks at the Tonga Room hurricane tiki bar with the floating band! And obviously Alcatraz, one of the creepiest most incredible historical National park experiences I’ve ever done in the USA.
Hope you get to go to the Walt Disney Family Museum open Thursday through Sunday! Also Sausalito across the Golden Gate Bridge is an awesome town to see too!
Excellent video Adam, such a pretty city. Your lunch looked amazing. If you lived in San Francisco you would be skinny as with all those hills and stairs. Wishing you both a wonder Birthday
Glad you got to ride the cable cars, and explore the city. I want to o go back and go the same. I was there in March with my family, but sadly had a heart attack while at Pier 39. Now I have heart failure, but am working on regaining strength and heart function everyday!☺️ Glad you’re getting in a lot of steps and walking in too. I’m only 47, and had a “Widow Maker” heart attack , completely out of the blue.
Hey Adam! That submarine is the USS Pampanito-my grandpa served on it during WWII. He turns 97 in a month!
That's awesome...he is a hero!!
The Pampanito has a functioning Torpedo Data Computer onboard. I haven't seen that one.
Wow! That's so cool!
Happy Birthday to your Grandpa🎈🎂🎁❤😀 Blessings & love to ALL, Piper

I agree, but for the foreseeable future it is closed due to major road work between the visitor center and the castle. 😔

I live in San Francisco and have lived here for over 20 years, and no one has ever had to pay to drive down Lombard. Not sure why she said that?
I could be wrong, but there was a bill floating around in 2019 for a toll down the crooked street. Was vetoed, maybe she was referring to that🤷♀️
I thought that was strange too
San Francisco , hands down, is the most beautiful city in the country. 🌁❤️❤️ 🚡

We thoroughly enjoy watching your videos and having Natalie join you is a great bonus for us. We like her!
Cliff house is closed😕
@@ellensmith111 Thanks! I remember they closed the restaurant...so sad. Well at least Ocean Beach & Sutro Baths ruins. Best to you!
@@meimeiparker you as well
Just rode the cable cars today on Tuesday August 3rd. It is for free for now. Wow Adam is in San Francisco.
Welcome to my home city.
Good post. FYI... they aren't "trolley" cars. They are "cable" cars which are moved by cables underground. Trolleys have electric motors powered by overhead electric wires. All good!
Yes indeed. Boston has trolley cars. Part of the MBTA!
@@Merely yep trolley and cable cars both.
Really was an enjoyable tour of SF. You visited the places I would have wanted to see. Natalie's Lobster Loaf looked delish.
Impeccable timing as usual. Old cop, young cop feel alright on a warm San Francisco night.
OH, Woo, Honey. Here in the SF Bay Area we do not call them trolley cars. They are Cable Cars. Anyway I love your stuff and am glad to se you came to see The City. I hope you had a great time!
Iconic, cinematic scenes here today, this is the air that I breathe. Thanks Adam.
Thanks for making this video. You visited most of the spots my wife and saw on our honeymoon ten years ago, we even walked through that tunnel.
Never been to San Francisco or California. Thank you for taking us around the state 😊
Hello David here I grew up in California it is quite a place I hope you can see it some day
Wow, I just had a photoshoot on Geary Street a couple days ago. If you have time, come down to Silicon Valley. You and Nat together are gold.
Great to see you and Natalie out and about. Never been to San Francisco but looks loverly. Can’t wait for next instalment
Thanks Adam. I knew the Foghorn Leghorn impersonation was coming once you showed the sign.
OMG! The Woo is in the bay area. Welcome Adam! Welcome back Natalie! 😁
That sound of realization in Adam’s voice when he notices his lunch tab is less than $20 while Natalie’s is over $50 🤣
LOL.....that's a classic "date" move. Way to go Natalie!!
Hey!...So Adam Likes Ladies with Expensive Taste........Oysters?????Hmmmmmm🤔..🤨..🧐..😏..🤗..😉
He spends at least $50 on food for himself when goes to an Angels game.🐷
$50 for a meal? Never in my life…
San Francisco forever baby!
P.S. as a native San Franciscan and someone who has always and only ever lived here (well, South San Francisco) Natalie is right.
Besides Full House the houses and steep hills remind me of Mrs Doubtfire
Happy birthday to you both! You should grab birthday drinks at the Tonga Room hurricane tiki bar with the floating band! And obviously Alcatraz, one of the creepiest most incredible historical National park experiences I’ve ever done in the USA.
Hope you get to go to the Walt Disney Family Museum open Thursday through Sunday! Also Sausalito across the Golden Gate Bridge is an awesome town to see too!
I love Sausalito. It is gorgeous.
Excellent video Adam, such a pretty city. Your lunch looked amazing. If you lived in San Francisco you would be skinny as with all those hills and stairs. Wishing you both a wonder Birthday
Enjoyed this video being S.F. Is my home town.Well done!
Gorgeous video… Loving it👍🏻
Adam the Whoo in CALI?!!! My dude!!! Next Trip you should go sometimes soon is Las Vegas!!!!
Loved this vlog never been to San Francisco but have always wanted to thanks so much for showing !! Can’t wait to see the rest !!!
Yes! Hope you're going to a giants game
Oh yeah! Go to a Giants game!
Best team in baseball!
