As a man trapped in his wheelchair you are a window to the world Adam. Everything you do can shape not just the view but the experience. Thank you for everything you do!
I am in almost the same predicament and if you could use a (another) friend, let’s get to know each other! I am not in a chair currently but it isn’t far ahead anymore.
I was born in the Summer of Love, 1967, and even though I was too young at that time, I managed to catch the tail end of it in the 70's when things were so new and fresh. Now that people have "Seen everything" you can't capture the innocence that once was.
I heard haight died out early 70s (before that) I've also heard concerts in the bay area (ledzeppelin concert 77) guys I worked with said, their were still a lot of freaks at that time. I knew what he was saying, wasn't taken lightly either. I used to work commute San Francisco back 87? I wasn't hippy long long hair kept hidden in my hat 15 year old kids would ask me if I was going to see 'the dead'. Selling Grateful dead shirts everywhere. I had no idea in 1987? Only San Francisco. Fisherman's wharf grateful dead (figures). We were looking for street address driving, I remember my boss slowing down, coming up a park, Watch this, he says, going back in time 60s") Walls graffitied with old bands . People everywhere sitting Indian style, endless. It was beautiful day.
This was an awesome n amazing video of a place I tried to get to several times in my life but missed it by this much!!! Something always went wrong n I never made it there, so thank you for letting me accompany you n Natalie to the incredible Haight Ashbury district!!! It is wonderful how the neighborhood is sooo well kept n all the psychedelic shops n store fronts are a true tribute to our Hippie beginnings, of which I still am, at 65 yrs old!!! Natalie's outfit was awesome, a total blend of 1960's n 1980's styles!!! Golden Gate Park is fabulous n reminds me of Edward Hines Park from my old stomping grounds in the Detroit area of Michigan, where we also had concerts, parties, gatherings, sit ins, be ins n love ins back in the day of which I have superbly fond memories of a time when all different ages n types of people could meet n greet each other n attend all sorts of relevant n historical happenings!!!! The Bison were super cool too!!! Attaboy, Adam the Woo n Natalie too!!! Thanks for resurrecting the memories of a great ride!!! Miss it terribly!!!
Ahhh, thanks for the great nostalgia! I rode the G.D. bus from 87-94. (the last hoorah) Many many many shows and just as many great memories! Thanks for this!
I like this type of music. This takes me back in time. It brings up a lot childhood memories. I was in elementary school at the time. I love 💘 Hendrix. Probably one of the greatest guitar player. Also love Joplin.
I’m so glad you shared your experience from Haight-Ashbuty. As a former US History teacher (now retired), this content is right up my alley!! Love it!!! ❤️❤️
I was in my late teens, finishing school and about to start working for the man in that time period, but on the other side of the Pacific Ocean but those guys still played a major part in my life. Peace and Love to you both, thanks for another interesting video.
Adam ! Thanks for the videos ! Natalie is a great addition. The videos with her are just a little better because the dialogue and exchanges are just a little more fun.
My family and myself were due to arrive in SF from the UK , the same day as you and Natalie. Due to Covid our holidays been cancelled, so I’m really appreciating the current vlogs Adam. Really nice to see what we’re missing & how the weather is. Well done, your providing a lot of enjoyment for people who are unable to visit these places at present. A Big Thank you from the 🇬🇧 (Ps. Natalie makes a great addition)
I was five years old, during the summer of lover, but my older sister lived on the music...so I too appreciated it....the music is some of my earliest memories.... and will never, ever happen again. It was a magical time in the world of music....and in history. Thanks for this, Adam and Natalie!
@@maureenhansen3308 So true....my dad used to have a radio show, after he got out of the Coast Guard in WW II, and we still had a lot of the studio records that were sent to him to play, from the late 40,'s early 50's...
Enjoyed this video vlog of Haight Ashbury! I lived in the East Bay during the 60's and remember the concerts at Golden Gate Park. Remember the Avalon Ballroom concerts that happened there. North beach. Good job Adam!
Loved this video, Adam. It's so great to see Natalie is well versed in 60's music and culture :) Gosh, those Victorian homes are so beautiful, I hope they will remain preserved for a long time.
Thanks to you both for the great tour 👍lots of neat things to see 👀 & do. I've never been to San Francisco. But hope to go some day. I live in So Cal near Los Angeles.
Hi Adam awesome vlog at Haight Ashbury in San Francisco. Very groovy town. Sure like to go back to the 1960’s. So glad you went to see today’s Haight Ashbury👍🏻peace 🌈
Love watching the San Francisco videos. Your breakfast looks so good. love the Tie Dye. I love the architecture stunning Victorian houses. I hope to return one day
Really liking how you are branching out beyond theme park stuff, Adam (though nothing against those, very well done, too of course). I’ve been a GD and other the other SF-area 60’s bands fan and been to the Haight and several of these same legendary locations countless times over decades…I still learned several things today via your post today,. Especially dig the photo match-ups! Thank you, Adam! You too, Natalie,
I took a very memorable road trip with my mom, and we went through San Francisco. It was a lovely place. The thrift stores were incredible. The people there were amazing. The food was delicious
New subscriber here. Love your San Francisco vlogs from a native now retired in Palm Springs. I was 17 during the Summer of Love. Saw so many memorable ppfree concerts. Although I am now more of an Ella Fitzgerald fan, who also has grown to love opera, I will say Janice in her heyday was absolutely incredible! You are a fun couple and Natalie is such a charmer. Sweltering in Palm Springs at the moment so I will take some of that fog. Keep traveling and taking us along. Thanks for all your work!
Wonderful video! I saw the Grateful Dead 30 times, Jerrys Bday was 8/1. Loved seeing all of my favorite spots at the Haight! SO excited you are up here in the Bay :)
HEY, ADAM & FRIEND NATALIE Hope you guy's are doing awesome Yeah There Is so much Rock"n"Roll History in ( THE CITY ) And Almost all of the Greatest Rock Bands Have lived there along with famous Actors, Writers you name it they have lived there So thanks for taking us on this most exciting and fabulous Day of fun OK Adam & Natalie take care stay safe and will see you on the next adventure
I remember Jefferson Airplane also played some free concerts in Golden Gate Park when I was a kid. I grew up in the Richmond District. It's nostalgic watching your vlogs in SF! Glad Natalie is a good tour guide for you Adam. This trip looks fun for the two of you!✌😊💖
I moved away from the SF Bay Area 4 years ago after spending the first 50 years of my life there. Thanks for all the memories you are bringing back for me.
HEY ATW... ALL OF THAT HILL SCHLEPPING MUST be tough on the legs! Such a great vlog today. You both need a couple Advil and a soak in the hot tub! Good shots and backgrounds for the still shots to go into the bestseller! I lived my whole life just minutes from San Francisco and never saw any of this!! Thank you both for showing me what I missed!
Love this series! Great to see all of these different locations in San Francisco. Don't think I've seen anyone do a UA-cam video of this place. It's so interesting for us Brits, especially as we still can't travel to the USA. X
Thank you for doing these videos. We were supposed to go to SF a couple weeks ago, but we had to cancel because we got evacuated for the Tamarack fire. Now I will have some more planning to do for when we get to go.
I really enjoy the vlogs with Natalie. She brings an element I can't describe, but utterly enjoy. She is a lovely human. Her knowledge and input bring a fresh touch to your wisdom and style. Though, I gotta say Adam, a VW Bug and a VW Bus are completely different vehicles. Someday, if you get the chance, maybe you can do a history of the Santa Cruz mountains, Scotts Valley roadside attractions of Santa's Village and The Lost World, plus Circus Trees. I know some of the buildings and decorations from Santa's Village are at Wylder Resort in Hope Valley and some of the Circus Trees are still on Scotts Valley Drive and Gilroy Gardens. Love your attention to detail.
Spent the day with a young lady who fulfilled my dream of Haight Ashbury, he had vegan pizza, coffee at a cute shop, Bertie Page store and so much more a true dream come true what a day ty for taking me there again. Also found a fellow with a guitar and had to have a pic with him, her noticed my headband Han flowers in it lol 🥰
My old stomping grounds. I even lived on Frederick St. for a while during the late 60's. My band has played at the Haight Ashbury street fair a few times. It was quite a scene back in the day. don't forget the other great bands, Country Joe & the Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Chocolate Watchband, Grassroots, Neil Young, etc. " The coldest winter I ever spent, was a summer in San Francisco!" I didn’t live during the magnificent music of the 40’s too, but what a lucky time for music those people lived in, doesn’t happen often in history.
