3:36-3:40 what a moment, when all house robots were ready to demolish Spawn of Scutter! Kim Davies really liked to take on the house robots, uh oh Sir Killalot wet himself! Splinter got off to an alright start against Hypno-Disc potentially pulling off a major upset but...
ah splinter vs hypno disc. for some reason one of my favourite fights. dunno if its the sheer carnage or the hilarity of jp's comments but i've always liked this one lol
lol is it me or did someone cause a bit of damage to a part of one of killalot's arms lol n JP that fluid that u saw leaking out was actualy hydrulic fluid comin from one of his arms
Spawn of Scutter really had a bad pull against Panic Attack- the robot was good, but had almost NO chance of getting under Panic Attack's skirts (the only places they might possibly find a ground clearance were at the front underneath the spikes if Kim Davies lifted them or at the back where it doesn't have a skirt, which they had NO chance of reaching with Kim being as good a driver as he is) and without that the fight was over before it began. I think Panic Attack was having some trouble with the gyrostabiliser when they had Spawn of Scutter pinned on the arena wall- you could see Kim trying to line the robot up to get in under his opponent, but he was having trouble lining it up right. Kind of funny watching Shunt come in and try to axe them and keep missing, though. Took him 3 attempts. Hey, when Killalot started leaking hydraulic fluid, was the House Roboteer trying to position him over that grille in the floor to try and minimise the amount of fluid that would spill onto it? But wouldn't that mess up whatever mechanism was underneath the grille (looked like a light)? Another pretty good fight really, although it's short, one-sided and mostly decided by the matchup just being fundamentally bad for Spawn of Scutter. Craig, the driver of Splinter, really did have a good head on his shoulders. He accurately predicted that if Splinter hit Hypno-Disc's disc with its scoop moving in the same direction that the disc was rotating, it'd absorb the force of the attack. The problem is that he has to do this perfectly _every time_ and if he messes up just once it'll be doom for his robot... which inevitably happened. It was a horrifically bad matchup, but they gave it a good go, and certainly gave Hypno-Disc far more trouble than anyone else in their heat did (V-Max got a single good slam in on Hypno-Disc and that was basically it). Hypno-Disc's claim to have "wiped away all four competitors so far" is inaccurate, oddly similar to Pussycat printing a kill sticker for Milly-Ann Bug on their chassis when it was Razer who destroyed them (even worse, since Pussycat at least fought Milly-Ann Bug in the melee first- Hypno-Disc didn't even _face_ 4 robots in their heat since heat final opponents Raizer Blade were also their 2nd melee opponent). Splinter really did make a good effort, but you notice when they run Hypno-Disc into Dead Metal you see Dead Metal's saw twitch, but then settle back again and it just releases them? I wonder if the House Roboteer wasn't ordered to release Hypno-Disc unharmed to avoid any shocking upset shenanigans? Then again, it WAS still early in the battle. Unfortunately, Jonathan Pearce brings in his greatest example of tempting fate when he gets as far as "maybe" before Craig makes a wrong turn and Hypno-Disc strikes the decisive blow. This is gonna be gruesome...
I agree about Spawn of Scutter. With the possible exception of Hypno-Disc, it could have done better if it were drawn against any other robot in this semi. Panic Attack was basically a wall to SoS's design.
@kartkidchun At around 3:37, they're all just waiting for the Ref's signal and Spawn Of Scutter's team is just thinking "No! No! Not the House Robots!"
I loved the way the House Robots all gathered around like that. Almost looked like Panic Attack was their ring leader.
