Man, stinger is a lot more potent in this series than I expected. I expected it to be as useless as it was last war... but it's actually made it all the way here, and not by luck alone!
i always thought mousetrap had potential, especially against stinger if they could time it right so they could catch stinger's weapon or even trap one of the wheels. the timing of that was always gonna be the problem though and stinger was always all over the place from the word go
Stinger vs Mouse Trap was a good choice of draw, may not have been a really good fight but both had similar weapons. Unlucky for Mouse Trap but they did great making the series semis on their debut.
This semifinal isn't as good as the first one, but considering the first semifinal of the 4th Wars was easily one of the best episodes of Robot Wars _ever_ that's not too surprising. The weaker robots (like Mousetrap and Splinter) landed in this semifinal, resulting in more conclusive battles, compared with the first semifinal where the only matches that _didn't_ go to the judges were the ones with Chaos 2. That said, this is still top-quality Robot Wars action, _far_ above the semifinals we had in the 3rd Wars, with tons of excitement and thrills to go around. The Stinger vs Mousetrap match is a pretty good start to the episode- Mousetrap MIGHT have been able to beat Stinger if they'd been able to pin them with the trap, but Stinger are as ever very slippery customers and Mousetrap is a relatively easy target for their spinning mace attacks. I love seeing Stinger at work, it's just one of the most _fun_ robots to watch out there. They certainly had a large fan contingent there too, didn't they? Craig _blatantly_ got Mousetrap's history wrong, though, when he opened up his post-battle interview with them by pointing out that this was their first appearance on Robot Wars, which it wasn't- they were the Triterabot team in Series 3. In fairness, though, Triterabot was crap, so it's hardly surprising that he forgot them.
Well technically Hypno-disc could have beaten Stinger... and Spawn of Scutter could have beaten Stinger, and Splinter could have beaten them, and Panic Attack... probably Wild Thing and X-Terminator too. :P
We ALMOST had a HD v Stinger match at one point. They were meant to battle it out for 3rd place in one of the wars but apparently HD's internals were completely wrecked. in the previous fight Shunt brought his axe down on HD's disk while it was at full rotation, the subsequent stop while the motors were fully engaged meant that all that momentum had nowhere to go, as a result the motor that drove the disk in the back of the robot was literally ripped from the chassis internally up towards the disc itself, dragging itself through the mechanisms insice the machine and commpletly wrecking everything inside. This meant it completly destroyed the intenal gears of the robot and HD had to admit they could not repair it in time so had to bow out.

I think they matched up stinger v mousetrap just to see if they could catch the tail.

Who the hell does something as sadistic as put Hypno-Disc against a brittle robot like Splinter!!!!!!
Splinter was a pile of sawdust after Hypno Disc wrecked him m. From Joe. X
0:33 I wonder if Mark showed this to George
8:00 It's not their first venture into robot wars - they had Triterobot in series 3.
p.s. 'Build a better mousetrap' - very witty!!
Stinger for president.
Mousetrap seems to have the most useless weapon ever
mouse trap and splinter the only non seeded robots in the semi finals and of course they both get knocked out easily
Did one of those banners say 'Stinger for president.'

Stinger was 3rd in series 4 of robot wars. From Joe. X
Panic Attack are more of a favourite to re-claim the title than Hypno-Disc winning for the first time.
Are you saying that Hypnodisc can't damage panic attack
6:06 Actually, it's one of the drive chains.
@ 0:03 the big push
true that, but i meant the second semi finals, also Tornado was way better than splinter and mouse trap
I think it would be better if they adapted it to a flipper.
Bad lineup compared to the first semi.
First semi: "Holy shit this is one of if not the best semi final there is"
Second semi: "God how shit"
