Back with the Series 2 uploads now after a long break. Normally, Roadblock and Cassius' Heats would've been next, but unfortunately these files are either not available or struggling to be converted. Fingers crossed I can get Cassius' Heat up in good quality, but I doubt Roadblock will be sorted. Thanks to Diotoir the Son of Nemesis who will be providing most of the remaining footage for Series 2 uploads - ua-cam.com/channels/7gL0e6qWllf1htU2al39cQ.html. -- Any support at all is appreciated on Patreon! www.patreon.com/NJGW Follow me on Twitter: twitter.com/nickweston1996
Thanks Nick! Also if you want to see the alt account visit: ua-cam.com/channels/r5NxxVDiACrLunnctlaCFQ.html It also has Heat I but in the wrong aspect ratio. Look forward to the rest of Series 2 and if you want, you can see the Grudge Match special on my channel!
Robo Doc is quite the interesting robot, and with them going on to build 101 in the future you can see how Robo Doc helped them figure out how to make 101 as good as it was. King Buxton is also nice to see, too. I like the shiny metal finish, too.
This heat for me is the best showcase for the gauntlet, with some of the competitors going for Clarksons philosophy of speed and power before being attacked by both House Robots and hazards alike.
They really should have put more effort into separating the crowd noise from the pits or at least use a a better aimed microphone. Often you cannot make out what the interviewed roboteers are saying. But alas, Robot Wars is no more in the UK. I am so glad they dispensed with the gauntlets in later series.
In my opinion this is my favourite series 2 episode aside from the grand final as it featured some great moments like all torque absolutely bossing Matilda in the joust as well as the beginning of the Simon Harrison and Mike Franklin "rivaly" with king Buxton vs robo doc. King Buxton vs robo doc in my opinion is also one of my favourite fights from series 2 even if the edit made it look extremely one sided.
Some people buckle under the pressure, even if they had good control in a familiar environment. But I agree, many could not get their robot straight. Now with Wizard from one of the previous heats... That was just plain bad design. Due to the circular shape you cannot see which way you're facing until you are already moving. What were they thinking?!...
watching killalot is so boring. he's so ridiculously OP that nothing stands a chance near him. you know how it's gonna go every time. he literally prevents anything from having a fair chance. every time he interferes, I fast forward. it's unfair how OP he is and watching it unfold is just so tedious.
its the weight more than anything : TV says 280kg its actually knocking on 500 in this series alone and up to 800 thereon at least the other house bots are basically onyl just bigger than the competitor ones etc.

23:49 really shows the pushing power of Robo Doc as it managed to push back both Matilda and King Buxton
The moment when Dominic finds out Rottweiler got through is so heart-warming
Lotto winner
Of course King Buxton and Robo Doc went on to be bitter rivals in future wars.
Dominic sure is a very cheerful lad.

26:20 I never noticed until just now that the showed King Buxton's team instead of All Torque's in error.

18:48 When it doubt, just FLOOR IT!!!

I mean any robot that goes up against and beats some humility into the house robots are always interesting.
I love this series but probably because it was the first I've seen
King Buxton was the first agile pusher. I know robot the Bruce was a pusher but it was really slow.
Do none of these people practice driving their robots before the competition? Jesus.

Is King Buxton connected to King B Remix from the later series?
Yes
@@njgw1465 Ok thanks
The sound effect for the Sentinel, I've heard it in many TV show. Dose anyone know what it's called or where I can find a clean version of it?
maybe try BBC sound effect library
3:20 Miley Cyrus beaten clearly.

Realise it is the beginnings of the fraud between the driver of 101 and king buxton team since the driver of robot dog will next season make 101
Enter King Buxton!
10:41 Matilda you clumsy girl
Haha, indeed. I still think Mathilda looks great; she looks very organic despite being made out of sheet metal. That took a lot of fine craftmanship.
SHIT THE BED IT'S BACK
too bad G and H are still missing
