Hey, nice review. As a purely mouse alternative for PC use, is the Nextick not that good? I thought this was kind of a joystick shaped mouse alternative back then, but your review makes it sound like it's all gyro. I'm desperately looking for an alternative to normal and vertical mice and am currently eyeing even flightstick controllers due to my wrist pain. I can't really use something so inaccurate though so I'm in a bind on what to buy.
Thank you =) Yes, you won't be able to use it as gyro mouse, unless you crank the sensitivity way down. Yes, it doesn't have any mouse type light sensor in it, it's all gyro. I would like to recommend you this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLjUzXEvDGFBkAv6jPgaq2ju04W7Bmk3oY.html I have quite a few vertical mice. A friend with repetitive strain injury liked my gun mice better than traditional vertical mouse. Also there is the Dutch "HandshoeMouse" which I like.
No. Sadly they took my money and ran with it :( After escalating, I managed to get back my money, but I got insulted and AE refuses now to sell me any product in the future...
@@Boojakascha yikes! Actually I had a similar experience. I preordered a set a long time ago, then shortly before releasing, the randomly sent me a refund, but only for a partial amount and (of course) no lightguns. When I contacted them about this, they never responded. Its crazy to hear that you had a similar situation.
Kind of dissapointed with the analog stick not actually handling the inputs and instead cheating with digital. It can be a pretty decent HOTAS or general casual flight sim controller. If an SDK is available, it could be really improved, unless you're going to open this up yourself and modifying it. Great for mobile games though, I'd imagine. Can it be used plugged in or is tht purely for charging? Also, finally got to see Galgun of all games on this channel 🤣
Mobile just if it works, which for me sadly it didn't :( You can play while charging, but communication remains wireless^^ In fact I reviewed the original, Japanese Gal*Gun in episode 97 =)
@@Boojakascha You have an encyclopedic knowledge of your episodes, bro. Do you think you might eventually end up doing an overview of these gyro controllers in general in the future? What would you even categorize these as?
@@ManLikeKitch I think a gyro gun compilation video is a great idea =) I still have to acquire a Hixgun and review a few units in my stock, but then it would be great as a overview piece :D
@@Boojakascha Any chance of changing the channel name to 'Forgotten Lightguns/Arcade Weapons' or Light Gun Reviews/Guy? You are the defacto lightgun guy on yt tbh, just take it and roll with it. You got five years worth of lightgun content.
"'Forgotten Lightguns" is a great Idea, I love Ian's show :D But no, you see, I call the show "light gun reviews" and else use my artist name. I was doing flash animations for years prior to this and published them here. Also I publish and develop non light gun stuff such as the 3DO bios hack (82) Epoch Cassette Vision mods (208) and Magnavox Odyssey (62) items and recreations. If the whole channel was called something with light gun, people would have a valid argument that some content "doesn't fit the channel". And this way (using my artist name) I can do what ever I feel appropriate any time :D But thank you very much for your kind words and the suggestions! =)
The face buttons are awkward and will cause pain if using frequently. The triggers are also poorly shaped. The upper trigger is awkward to use. The features are great but this is extremely un-ergonomic if you use any of the buttons noted above. I am terribly disappointed😢
I agree, the face buttons are placed weird. The player almost has to let go the grip in order to reach them with the thumb. It's as if it was designed for dual handed use, which would also be odd.
Excellent video as usual, Ben.
Thank you, kind Sir! =)

My friend, have you tried the AE light gun? That seems to be in high quality

Really hope you get a nice controller soon! =)
@@Boojakascha Very sad, but then that just makes it sound this was never a trustworthy company to begin with, sadly.
@@FamilyTeamGaming yes, unfortunately :(
Arg, I hate when they go on kickstarter but put it in the wrong category. If this was in game hardware, I would have seen/gotten it
I agree, very frustrating!
