"Without Dieting"
*starts off by describing a diet*
Tip one, Spreading meals out isn't a diet.
Tip two could technically be considered a diet, but it tricks your mind into thinking you're eating enough.
Tip three is intermittent exercise.
The other things like the carb stuff is just further advice.
I'm 58 too! ( the only 6 pack I've ever had was in the fridge ) But swimming keeps me in shape - at least 30 lengths a day if possible! I eat well, generally AVOID cake, crisps, and carbonated drinks... Only a little belly fat to be honest, and I'm not too thin either... Stay Happy
😂😂 That theme song is Everything!!
I lost over 30 pounds on a very high carb diet. You lose weight on a calorie deficit and exercise. I went from 214 to 172 at 6'2".
True a calorie deficet is what causes fat loss but many people consider counting calories a diet and for those who don't want to track but still lose weight lowering your carbs is a great way to do it.
what if you are 12 years old, weight 169, and are 5'4?
You just lost a bunch of extra fat, this is where it's going to get really difficult. You'll need to start watching your carbs too if you want to get more defined.
Thank you Bob BRAD I will keep this in mind and do try it 🍁
Damn! Bob's got gains! I kid. Thanks for all of the informative videos. They're always so informative and actually give me the motivation to change my habits for healthier ones.
“ get your six pack back”. While I’m flattered you assumed I ever had a six pack, it’s sooooooo far from wrong 😂.
"it’s sooooooo far from wrong" if it's far from wrong it means it's right? So you did have a six pack?
@@durragas4671 lol, right?
My 6 pack is just in hiding currently...too much for my fans!!! Lol
So your six pack is being hidden by a keg?
@@durragas4671 too far to the other side which is totally wrong 🤣 that's what he mean... Lol I'm taking stand for him after 2 years so there're less chances for then to see 😂
Thanks Bob and Brad🤗🤗
You are a brave man! But you also have abs! Congratulations!! Always learning a lot from your videos.
Common sense, practical advice, Gentlemen. That head's up about the table in the restaurant was especially useful, LOL. Thanks for posting this good humored approach to physicality.
honestly at 58 years old that's quite impressive. I go to gym a lot and I see a lot a lot a lot of flabby old people
dewinmoonl LOL. You will eventually learn that 58 isn’t old.
i think i'll say exactly that when i'm 58 :D
Ahh to be young and ignorant. At least they are at the gym. Come back to us when you are an ‘old’ dude in your 60s - or maybe not - it would be too offensive.
Recommend adding two ounces of Gruyere to your daily apple. Heavenly together. Maybe 4 Triscuts too.
Great advice! You guys are great!💜🧡💚
Thank you !
You both look great!
Thank you 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
This is interesting. I’ve read that eating frequently during the day actually keeps stimulating insulin production resulting in over stimulation of the pancreas leading to insulin resistance which works against weight loss. I think cutting out simple carbs and sugar is the key.
Bwaaahaha wear a shirt like this with little whit stripes love it. Lol
So happy to see a CRTV advert! 😉
Thank god. I get so nauseous and terrible stomach pain when I try to eat a whole meal. Can’t do it.
Love the Beverly Hill Billies🤣😂😅
I'm up to 4:16 of a 7:17 clip of this 'without dieting' video, and all I have heard so far is about dieting.
Tip one, Spreading meals out isn't a diet.
Tip two could technically be considered a diet, but it tricks your mind into thinking you're eating enough.
Tip three is intermittent exercise.
The other things like the carb stuff is just further advice.
Bob and Brad, please comment on the intermittent fasting technique that is making the rounds. This seems to be counter to what Bob has been doing. Any thoughts?
Thanks to the three replies , so far. I am actually curious to hear Bob's thinking about the difference between these two distinct methods of weight management. He clearly had carefully and consciously chosen the smaller meals, spread throughout the day regime ( and it has worked well!) but both 'methods' are employing very different thinking behind their recommendations. Do we let our insulin levels fall or not throughout he day?? Is autophagy truly brought on by regular 16 hour fasts each day or is this 'pseudo science'? And even if "Yes," is this truly beneficial and safe to do for an extended period?
Great video as as always... Native Wisconsinite from Waukesha - What is your opinion on drinks that have zero calories but have a lot of artificial sweeteners - would that cause a spike in insulin and cause you to gain Fat?
Slick move with the sign!
Thanks, as someone with diabetes type 2, I can use this.
That doesn't work for me! I eat around 350 one bite meals every day and I can't lose any weight at all.
you are so cool guys!!!
Looking good.
Anyone who knows Tim Ferriss is in my good books !
So about how many grams of carbs do you eat in a day?
Bob and Brad. I gave myself tendonitis and oh the pain. I was told only physio would help. Please help me with what to do. Oops found some YT vids. Shoulder.. Knee but groin also
what book you mentioned about weights?
The more frequently you eat, the more frequently you turn on the pancreas. I don't see how this is beneficial. Give the pancreas a rest. Who has jobs were you can stop and eat that often?
A fruit and some nuts isn’t anything crazy to fit into a working day. These air squats are also an example that if there’s a will, there’s a way.
It's about keeping your levels even. Of course, anything can't be used as an excuse.
Hey! I understood the Jethro reference, and I'm only 39. ;-)
Some good ideas, do what works for you. If it doesn't work, do something els.
Eating less is fine, but several meals is a no-no..
The stomach needs at least 4-5 hours between meals to digest food,....and then there is the 'inter-digestive' phase, that is essential for the stomach to be prepared for the next meal. This phase is missed if the stomach is burdened with another meal before it has fully dealt with the previous meal.. (even if it is a small quantity like a few almonds).
The key thing that I took from this video was the 'little and often' exercise...
What's this based off? Never heard of digestive phases
@@HuwPewPew - it's called physiology...
Dude. Macro and intensive workout
Smothers Brothers revival? 😃
You never went into detail what your supper consisted of. Can you give an example?
Some bro science right here.
Someone make a TV about these two
You can get seasick watching these guys.
Who else fast forwarded to get to Egon with his shirt off?
So, what are the 3 things again???
DIAZ52 I counted four: 1.) cut back on carbs, 2.) spread out meals into more frequent, smaller ones, 3.) eat smaller portions by changing to smaller size plates & bowls, and 4.) incorporate small bursts of exercise around the times you eat, just before or after.
Only thing I’m not sure of is going from three square meals a day to six mini meals... basically eating the same types and amounts of food over the course of a day, but distributing the content of the three meals over six smaller meals instead. From what I’ve heard and read recently, the advice has returned to eating three squares and eliminating snacks to go at least 12 hrs “fasting” a day (between last meal and first meal the next day)... to better control insulin resistance and causing pancreas to put out insulin too frequently.
Show off...🤗
Is that work on teenagers
10 ways to lose weight without dieting
Sounds like you are eating very little, i think. What do you eat with the chicken, not just chicken?
Snacc
Let’s be honest, we all clicked for Bob’s belly
Anybody can tell me solution please.between My right hand shoulder and hand my ligament is injured... I wont put any effort for doing some work.. How can i overcome
Hahaha no wonder u got a six pack u don’t eat mate lol

Bob got six packs
that's too much work, just eat during a 6 hour window daily, and fast for 18 hours. I lost 20 lbs doing this, without changing my diet, or exercise. And I'm eating whatever the @%^^% I want.
interestingengineering.com/fasting-produces-anti-aging-molecules-reveals-study
I did the same thing and I lost a lot of weight
I am trying to eat cleaner these days to lose the last 10 lbs... plus I injured my knees playing bball at 44 years old, and the inflammation and pain isn't going away. Maybe all the carbs, sugar, alcohol and ice cream I'm eating is slowing down the healing process. Ha.
What type of drinks during the 18 hour window?
@@BigBoss-kq8mb Green Tea, or distilled water with ACV. After the first week, you won't even get hungry. I did a 36 hour fast a few weeks ago and was fine the whole time, not hungry, your body will adjust
No fucking way hes 58! thought he was atleast 38-45 lol
calorie deficit.
Bob has never borne children. I have, four of them. It looks like l am about to have my fifth.

Could you guys not sway left & right while you talk? It's, like, weird & distracting
Bad advice on the many small meals. Body can't get into catabolic mode and burn fat if you're constantly eating
Your body can't be in anabolic mode and catabolic mode at the same time. It can burn carbs in the form of glycogen in anabolic mode, but not fat
Agreed. Every time you eat anything with carbs or sugar you spike your insulin... Not sure why he recommends eating many meals a day.
@Abdulrazzaq Bakeer well then by all means, please educate us, professor
taintmueslix You couldn’t be more wrong. I lost 60 pounds in 6 months eating like that
Incorrect. For not only losing belly fat, but more importantly for a long-term healthy life, that's the way to go, smaller meals spread throughout the day. My mom always reminds me this.
This whole video was about dieting lol
Precisely the opposite of what the latest fad du jour says about eating multiple small meals CAUSES insulin spikes and weight gain from insulin resistance. Nobody knows what they are talking about. As in so much of science, the next group of studies will radically change or contradict what the previous ones found. Bottom line, its fuel in vs fuel out. Whether you call fuel calories, carbs, fat, or whatever, you have to take in less fuel than you use so the deficit gets balanced by the body drawing on fat reserves. It will resist doing this because it thinks you are in a famine. Weight loss is not natural to our caveman bodies. Takes a lot of work and dedication to outdo our genetics. Now, back to the treadmill...
What they say is not evidence based
It actually is and I'm living proof of it...
Could you please show me the evidence and could you tell me how many people was involved in that study , how many included in control group , how long was the study, how often was the comparison took place, where the study was done ?????
This two person just recording UA-cam video and say what they think is right base on no evidence. Common it’s 2018 and access to book it’s so easy please read real clinical evidence base if you really looking for improvement not people opinion.
*+i2007t* I'm sorry but reading what you just wrote and seeing the videos you upload, you're full of contradictions and irony. They're just people's opinions yet your videos is almost entirely people's opinion, do you not believe the people in your videos because they don't have control groups?
How about I lost 100 pounds in 11 months because of a diet called Keto. This diet is a lowering of carbs and an increase of Fats. I taught my body to get its energy from Fat and not sugars or carbs AKA Glucose. I was able to, for my first time in my life, not think about food all day because my body got what it really wanted.
The reason we eat Carbs all the time is because carbs make us perpetually hungry which is good for business if you're selling food and explains why most Western societies are overweight. If you're struggling to lose weight and you require a pier reviewed study and knowledge of the control group and where it's at, how many people, etc... then you wont try any diet that might actually work for you. We are, after all, our worst opponent.
Incorrect. For not only losing belly fat, but more importantly for a long-term healthy life, that's the way to go, smaller meals spread throughout the day. My mom always reminds me this.
Stick to what you know. Leave the nutrition for people who know nutrition.
You lost weight/belly fat by creating a calorie deficit. Not because of your insulin. LOL. I thought you guy were better than this, especially referring to Tim Ferris on nutrition... You guys just sold yourself out.
Could you please show me the evidence and could you tell me how many people was involved in that study , how many included in control group , how long was the study, how often was the comparison took place, where the study was done ?????

Fake news
I'm a licensed dietitian and exercise physiologist. It would be nice if other healthcare didn't act like they know diet when your license and education isn't in this area at all. I don't give my patients rehab advice.
There is evidence based information on this topic and position and practice papers that you can read and even get interdisciplinary certification on if you are other healthcare, but it seems as though other healthcare just are completely oblivious of the fact that there are specialists in this topic and a dedicated healthcare professional for diet. There doesn't seem to be a dedicated healthcare professional for non rehab exercise advice though, which should be an exercise physiologist (someone with a BS and master's in exercise physiology who works in fitness industry among all the weekend certifications).
Everyone on the internet thinks they are a diet and exercise specialist.
But whatever, yall are guaranteeing me job security by continuing to promote misinformation that I have to clear up, but it is also frustrating that people then question legit info and we have to prove everything we say while other healthcare gets their word taken for truth.
jrg305: What a shock, the world is full of people you disagree with. Degrees and licences won't make up for a toxic attitude toward others.
@@anng.4542 You're an idiot. Fuck off
@jrg305 I agree 100%. I didn't watch the video in entirety bc I was floored at how they contradicted themselves off the bat. They make note that sugar is bad and how one wants to keep insulin levels steady yet his breakfast is cereal and a banana. Wth??? After a faster run to boot! Then the poor type 2 diabetic thanks them for their info...
@@jrg305 How cruel! Sorry to say, you've just proven Ann G. correct. You have a wonderful career you love and so do Bob and Brad. Let it go. It's not worth the anger.
