Heads up for people like me who are watching this and wondering where all our settings are: go to Global Settings (the 2 gears with CP next to it) and turn in expert mode!
Thanks for this comment. I've pinned it so it's at the top. CP has been updated since i did this video and now you have to change to expert mode first 👍
Well, here I sit, June’23, in front of my computer preparing to go step by step and learn CP. I have learned to use my phone while playing on my PC. Nothing beats doing it while watching it. Thanks for a great video.
HI, I usually use other channels for tutorial’s(Farmer Cop or Farmsim Guy), but this is one of the best I have seen. Some folks are so worried for length the skip a lot of the details so you are left with sort of a “50K foot view” of how something works. I have used CP in FS19 for almost everything and while interface is totally different(and very clunky when compared to fs19) many of the settings are similar to FS19. I got the basics from one of the other guys but you took the extra time and really did a wonderful job pointing out all of the important bits. Thank you for the information and the hard work putting together this video series.
I've applied your AD network and updated the CP yesterday. Obviously, it was the most enjoyable game since I've started to play FS! I don't know how to appreciate for your great assistance, Scroft. I've finished all my work while all the other vehicles were busy with contract jobs and making money for my farm :) Many thanks again and again Scroft, you made my day :)
Great work, thanks. As an old-school CP user I am really struggling getting used to the new menus and stuff. Currently I find the new CP NOT at all intuitive or self explanatory! This is very useful indeed. Much appreciated.
I only found your channel recently and am very impressed. FS comes alive with course play. It is amazing how quickly the developers were able to get a usable version out for FS22. I have workers pay set at 100% and then depending on season “claw back” 70-85% for the farm.
thankyou so much for making this video i had written off courseplay as i couldnot get it to work you taught me how to use it great work keep up the great videos
A wonderful and detailed explanation, as a veteran FS19 / Courseplay user I found FS22 Courseplay (Beta) a lot more detailed. The interaction is a bit different than FS19, similar abilities but how and where within the game you interact is waaaaay different.
I never got into CoursePlay in Fs19 as I found it too difficult to use, and the tutorials I could find were overcomplicated. However after seen yours, I am ready to tackle Courseplay, and you make it seem simple and straightforward to use. Love it, great tutorial 🤜
Awesome video, I'm currently lagging behind on version 12 I think, so a lot of this was new content, they are updating this so quickly it's hard to keep up.
Great video, I assumed CP was more difficult than it actually is. Your video has been extremely helpful and I actually look foward to using CP on my farms. Now I just got to get patience to map out AD, lol. Keep up the great work.
Ill probably wait awhile longer till they get a bit closer to a final version. These guys are churning out updates for this like no tomorrow. I see why it took awhile to get it running on fs22. Very neat and intricate tool.
good vid , wish you actually showed moving from the download folder to where exactly we put it to make it work but i guess I'll find another how to install course play to watch. but that last bit about making lanes out of the field was great I've been mowing on a side patch and I couldn't use ai so THANK YOU!
Wow. What an in-depth tutorial! I know I'm about three months late to the party, but have there been any substantial changes to this since release? Thanks so much for taking the time to do this!
Explanation starts at 14:00 for those who want to know. 6 minutes in and he's just going through the interface options when we don't even know what Courseplay is, what it does, or how it helps. Sadly this seems like the best of 5 videos I have seen so far which all start the same way. Why do tutorials have such difficulty explaining fundamentals before going into detail? Now I'm 12:00 minutes in and he telling how to use courseplay with another mod which I also don't know how to use. Why?
Hey Steve. Sorry you don't find the tutorial useful. You can read through the how to guide on the mod authors github page. I'm sure you can find it. I know many players have found my tutorial helpful, shame you didn't. Thanks for taking the time to watch 👍
Farming guides are severely lacking, that's coming from someone who has been used to osrs guides. Too long intros, too much garbling about nonsense, no structure at all so we don't know when we're going through different stuff, only explaining the things you can understand yourself and not anything about how the game actually works. Like they don't even have a wiki. The wiki is so shallow they only have the name of the crops you can plant, and nothing more lmao
Another great tutorial on what I'm going to say will be a staple feature of my games. I'll probably use it for a bit like autodrive before coming back with any questions or observations. Off the top of my head two use cases pop up. 1. Baling. I'm guessing I would have to set the working width of a baling course to whatever the harvester header had been? Then it would trick the vehicle using like the 2m baler to do much wider turns in line with the harvester course? Or would I just use the harvester course with the baler. I also use that fast baler mod with the prechamber that means you don't have to stop all the time. So 2. A large field of maybe sugar beet or potatoes that I usually split up with 2 harvesters starting at opposite sides in order to speed up the job, or more than 2 harvesters for a massive field. I'm guessing for this you'd record like you did for the grass plot? 2 or more perimeters within the field dividing it in half or whatever. Watch your courseplay vid 2 be how to edit the courses now and invalidate this comment :D
All very good questions that I will make sure to answer in the videos. You can use the same course as the harvester for the baler and it work just fine, it will slow down as needed for the baler. You could do that but there is a easier way. You can create a course with multiple harvesters in mind, I'll show this in a video 👍
Like cmon 2.3k views and not even 200 likes show him some love that was a usefull video heck I skipped 2 farming sim games and thats how courseplay changed
You can use I think up to three buttons on a controller! Like, (left bumper + right bumper + left stick or right stick) will activate a command response.
Can you change the horizontal offset for up and down ? Before, you could choose that for ex if you need to bail straw that is 2m offset to the right if you driver north, but if you come south, the offset had to be on the left side Before you had the option to change the offset side if you changed direction. Now i don't see this option anymore ?
Hello, quick question how do you get your working width to show in metres and not feet , as the menu shows tools in metres and my cp is showing ft, only takes a few seconds to convert but will save time in the long run. Thanks
I set my wages to 0, and essentially rp that its my character doing the work. I love this because i let the computer do field work and such while i do other things irl. So progress is made, but its as if my character is doing the work.
Hmmm i don’t have some of these options when using courseplay. I don’t have Header Direction, Header Overlap, Up/Down direction and angle, as well as a few other. Strange.
I won’t tell you how many days I was struggling to work out how to make a course, till I found out it was on the worker screen, I went through everything but. I was very angry with myself for not figuring it out myself
Is there a way to choose where you begin in corseplay seems every time I try and use it, it always starts half way down the long edge of a field instead of at the beginning edge
After the 2nd time I got er figured out thanks so much never was willing to accept this challenge of learning but it wasn’t to bad old dogs can learn new tricks 😂😂
I am stuck when setting the Target Position on the map. I click the edge of the map as you say, but when I click START JOB, i keep getting this "Target is not on a field" and I have yet to find a way to resolve this problem. Now that being said, I was trying to set up my harvester, not just a tractor pulling a trailer to perform a task.
I did as you said and installed CoursePlay into my mod folder but I don't know how to activate it? It does not appear in my mods screen. What am I doing wrong please?
What I miss about the old CP: Fewer menu pages, ability to set field speed and reverse speed, ability to set a course for offloading a combine and adding a 2nd course to to take it to the sell point. Ability to copy a course of something like the combine and then copy that so the baler can follow that course and create bales.
Offloading is now done with Autodrive, it's been set up to work with Courseplay. You can save courses and then have balers follow the same course still. I agree we have more menu pages and it did take some time to get used to. Thanks for watching 👍
yea i'm not sure i even want to play fs22 because of this. It's so clunky. You need to leave whatever you're doing to go browse menus while in fs19 it was all intuitive and doable while you drive the tractor. It just worked. And it's not just CP, almost every single interaction in the game just takes more steps than it used to. The design folks have to be fired.
Thank you so much for explaining this in a way that I can understand. I have yet to look at all your other videos, so no idea if you've already covered this, but how would you go about getting CP to work on the newly implemented olive and grape orchards?
I would record it the once as a custom course in Autodrive. I would then activate the equipment and activate the AutoDrive in drive mods. Thanks for the kind words
Having a terrible time getting courseplay to load in fs22. Have downloaded the zipfile from Github, but game does not see it for me to activate. Did I miss a step?
Hey. There's one think u did not talk about that i really want to know. If you have made a rute and your helper is maybe 50% done, but run out of seeds or something. How do you start him from where he last was?
Fantastic video as I'm new to this... however... I can't seem to find the setting where I can change feet to meters? Any idea where I can find this or whether it's a mod? Thank you
Trying to get this running but after setting the target position and then selecting CP: open/close course generator i am not seeing the option CP: Generate Fieldwork Course. Cant figure out why, no other mods are running.
@@Scroft Yes, on the edge and tried placing all round the field. Also tried different fields still no joy. Latest version from github and no other mods running.
ProTip: If CP doesn't find a field clearly or selects neighboring fields together, e.g. because only a narrow strip of grass grows between them, you can use the landscape editor (Shift+P) to drag a narrow strip of gravel or concrete between the fields, then the fields will be better recognized......
Great video thanks for the valuable lesson on this mod. One question comes to mind, so let's say we are using a seeder and we run out of seed part way threw the course set we come back to the job refill the equipment and want to carry on where we left off, is it as simple as just using the last waypoint? IFI am using the games AI I would normally use another vehicle as a shuttle to take seed to the one on the job rather than moving it.
Yeah, it would park in the field and wait for you to load more in. In the version on fs19 you could use Autodrive to set a route where it would go automatically to refill and return to the field and carry on. I'll be showing more in the upcoming videos 👍
i sometimes use a front weight or even the front forks, drop it on the ground and when u return with the seeder or fertiliser u can see where you last left off, the forks are good if u are spraying corn or sunflowers as u can see them above the crop
curious, did the mini hud change since you released the video? my hud looks nothing like yours... or did i download the wrong version...? mine pops up a couple of options in a bar style hud.. that i can't move around the screen.
Congrats on this tutorial i was able to follow and now i can setup courseplay ....my only problem now is i can't setup a second field correctly as it won't let me tackle the headland first ....i can't seem to find where it is as it only gives me half the options ....HELP.
I had never used this mod before. On my first field either I made a mistake or the mod glitched/bugged. I left it set to do the headland rounds first and when the harvester got to the end of the first round where the end was marked it just stopped itself and called it job done. Have you seen this? The second field I changed it to do the center rows first and did not have this problem.
great tutorial scroft, ive been using courseplay since it first came out back whenever, i cant play without it and i play with it as if when running a farm its usually a family job so i have wages at zero, after all the wifes and or kids are not getting paid to work, lol i set the fertiliser to raise early and lower late as i dont want it starting too soon and using more fert however not sure if this is the case ? thanks again and for me its the best mod ever made for farm sim
hi, this video really helped. i was wondering if you could help me because my farming simulator is stuck on an old version so i cant get any new mods or any mods brought out after november?
I don't see the purpose to saving courses given how easy it is to whip up a new one on the fly. But, to each their own! If it makes it easier for someone, then more power to them!
The mod? If so, when you place the mod in the mods folder and load up your save game you have a mods page just before you load. You tick the box for that mod and it becomes active for that save game your loading 👍
Used CP for both 17 and 19, but find it hard to figure out for 22, hopefully by the end of this I have a better understanding. Trying to create a course to mow a meadow (no field #). I used the mini-Hud to create an outline course, opt to save when turn record off, but I can't see that it saved a course anywhere, let alone have a chance to name it. BTW Scroft, what map are you on here?
whats the point of having Autodrive AND Courseplay?? I dont get it.. to be fair, I never used AD only CP and I consider my self an advanced user of CP, but in FS22 the whole CP setup is a lot different I find.. just installed FS22 and still figuring things out, but in the past, FS19 and older there was no need for having AD and CP installed.. both seems to do the same thing..
@@Scroft thank you, now i save money!! But I the AI when using "H", can that he changed? I'm on my own dedicated and when they fertilize, the money goes down super fast. TIA.
Hi brother, I have a question for you, so I'd like you to answer me if you know. I have a friend who doesn't have a computer, and he likes to play this game, sometimes he comes to me and plays. can i somehow split my monitor, and play this game in two players, run the game 2 times with one computer and play together?

Yeah, they've updated the mod. I will do up to videos as soon as it's released on mod hub 👍
Harvester is only using half of the implement how do I fix that?
Thanks man great video..howd bring up the HUD ( axion960) for coursplay ? Which keys?
What map is it, I didn’t catch name in video, even after replay.
Calmsden Farm
I have a love/hate with courseplay
Congrats on this tutorial i was able to follow and now i can setup courseplay ....my only problem now is i can't setup a second field correctly as it won't let me tackle the headland first ....i can't seem to find where it is as it only gives me half the options ....HELP.
I had never used this mod before. On my first field either I made a mistake or the mod glitched/bugged. I left it set to do the headland rounds first and when the harvester got to the end of the first round where the end was marked it just stopped itself and called it job done. Have you seen this?
The second field I changed it to do the center rows first and did not have this problem.
I'm not sure without seeing it. If you have the issue again you can jump in my discord and share a screenshot and I can try to help 👍
great tutorial scroft, ive been using courseplay since it first came out back whenever, i cant play without it and i play with it as if when running a farm its usually a family job so i have wages at zero, after all the wifes and or kids are not getting paid to work, lol
i set the fertiliser to raise early and lower late as i dont want it starting too soon and using more fert however not sure if this is the case ? thanks again and for me its the best mod ever made for farm sim
I think that's a great idea, Family farm. Get the young stock working for free 🤣 Good thinking on the fert 👍
hi, this video really helped. i was wondering if you could help me because my farming simulator is stuck on an old version so i cant get any new mods or any mods brought out after november?
so this is literally an improvement to workers
Yeah, sure is but it works much better. It's one hell of a upgrade 👍
did they fix the issue with the hud yet?
could not really make out the name of the map you are using.
Great explanations by the way.
I'm on Calmsden farm. Thanks 👍
I don't see the purpose to saving courses given how easy it is to whip up a new one on the fly. But, to each their own! If it makes it easier for someone, then more power to them!
Video starts at 3:06
How do u active it
The mod? If so, when you place the mod in the mods folder and load up your save game you have a mods page just before you load. You tick the box for that mod and it becomes active for that save game your loading 👍
what if I don't have "generate fieldwork course" button?
If its a custom field boundary and its not working. Use the paint tool to make an edge around the field. Try then
It only needs to be small, I've done it with the dirt texture
where do i find auto drive?
Did they remove the "collect/wrap bales" option? I can't find it now. Thank you for the very helpful information BTW 😀
Make sure your in a vehicle with a baler or Trailer attached to it and you will get that option. Next part is out tomorrow 👍
@Scroft thank you sir, I will double check that. You have quickly become one of my favorite youtubers!
What screen recorder do you use?
I use nvidia broadcast 👍
Used CP for both 17 and 19, but find it hard to figure out for 22, hopefully by the end of this I have a better understanding. Trying to create a course to mow a meadow (no field #). I used the mini-Hud to create an outline course, opt to save when turn record off, but I can't see that it saved a course anywhere, let alone have a chance to name it.
BTW Scroft, what map are you on here?
You probably already found it but if not it is calmsden farm.
My game keeps crashing when I try to make a course where there isn’t a defined field. Is there a reason for this?
Without seeing your log I'm not sure. You can jump in my discord and we can try to help 👍
whats the point of having Autodrive AND Courseplay?? I dont get it.. to be fair, I never used AD only CP and I consider my self an advanced user of CP, but in FS22 the whole CP setup is a lot different I find.. just installed FS22 and still figuring things out, but in the past, FS19 and older there was no need for having AD and CP installed.. both seems to do the same thing..
hey guys, is there a way not to pay the workers???
Yeah, in the cp settings, in the menu you change the percentage to 0%
@@Scroft thank you, now i save money!! But I the AI when using "H", can that he changed? I'm on my own dedicated and when they fertilize, the money goes down super fast. TIA.
Is course play coming to consoles? Or is it going to be only a PC mod?
Unfortunately just for PC due to all the scripts it add within the mod. Console's don't support added scripts
the one on the modhub is a little different
Hi brother, I have a question for you, so I'd like you to answer me if you know. I have a friend who doesn't have a computer, and he likes to play this game, sometimes he comes to me and plays. can i somehow split my monitor, and play this game in two players, run the game 2 times with one computer and play together?
I don't think this can be done unfortunately. You could play together online but you would need 2 different platforms running the game
Can you link the maps name?
Is courseplay going to be on console or just pc
Its a script mod so only on pc
Hi, i download the mod and i put it in my mod folder and doesnt work in game, what should i do?
