All these years I've been training for big glutes. My number one priority at the gym was to lift heavy and become like those insta girls. No stretching, no perfect form. Seven months ago I broke my tailbone whilst working out with my boyfriend. Instead of focusing on healing, I cried so much because I was no longer able to lift heavy and thought that my legs and bum would disappear. I kept on thinking that no clothes would fit me the same way they did before, and that I would go back to looking the way I did 4 years before starting my fitness journey. Today my body hasn't recovered fully, I am still unable to lift heavy and perform certain exercises. Instead of worrying about my bum , I now started viewing my fitness journey in a more holistic approach. I no longer punish my body for not being big enough. For the first time, I focused on stretching, mobility, correct form. I learned to love my body and allow it to heal. I now dont care about big glutes. I care about being healthy.

Love this! I have had a similar thought change around my gym routine
How did you break your tailbone? did you fall?
Do you have any tips to avoid injury? :) x

@@Oheyimchar My boyfriend was pulling a resistance band, performing a back exercise and he asked me to step on the band so he can pull it. When he did I flipped backwards on a really hard surface. It was the most painful experience ever.

I just wanted to say "thank you" for actually taking the time to really go through proper stretching and especially proper form, instead of just the usual weight/rep/set formula "F" the consequences. This was just excellent instruction and demonstration without all the vanity and ego lifting. It was refreshing.

I'm 28 and I've gone through a similar change in my mindset when it comes to working out. I no longer train JUST to have a bigger bum, it's not about that! It is absolutely refreshing to hear someone that truly does not care anymore all she cares about is maintaining a healthy lifestyle and mobility. I’ve been training for six years and like you I never stretched and honestly lifting heavy for such a long time trying to achieve bodies you see on Instagram from surgery and good genetics just burns you out. God bless everyone with a lovely body but after a while you just have to learn to except yourself. It’s OK to take a break but it was really nice to see someone preaching about lifting heavy and the only way you can achieve a body like that is by constant beating yourself up

It's amazing how people look at a video and can tell if people use steroids. Or the truth is unless in the video you see them taking some or they say "I am taking steroids" you can not say. The female body can be very very strong without the use of steroids, just very very hard work.

Striving for perfection instead of feeling whole and healthy. Hi Krissy, thank you for sharing so much information, especially what to take note while doing squats and what should be the expectations. i only started training when i was 30, a little late perhaps, in 2006/7, i sustained a back injury, i broke my L5&S1 disc, yes literally burst due to squats and deadlifts, it took me 1.5 years of rehabilitation before i could get back to gym. i nearly give up all the training as doctors advise me not to do squats nor any heavy lifting. For years i have been searching through youtube and also many exercise magazines, many will tell you how you should train with some misleading info. Whats best about your video is actually your advice is not about how heavy you train but you should do what your body can, be it mobility, depth of squats, the weights you can lift...mind you, many youtubes uploaded here only show you how much they lift, their ego lift and so forth. I am glad i stumble upon this video, look forward to more information sharing especially how to avoid injuries as all these injuries kill your gains!

Omg thank you so much for the tip about putting a small weight underneath the larger weights to remove them easier!! I get so embarrassed when I’m trying to unload them because I struggle lol

This video was EVERYTHING! I love how down-to-earth you are with your training. So genuine, caring, over explain (which is 🙌🏻👏🏼) and out so many tips! You make sure to make people feel comfortable. LOVE how you are so honest that some of these are still hard for you to do and you make sure to ensure us watching not to beat ourselves up by seeing these trainers killing a workout and we feel soooo weak! You connect and relate by saying it’s hard for you and you still struggle after years w/ some upping some weight and then that all you can think about is FOOD!
After all this, YES!!! I’d be burning and starving haha love it. You have become my favorite! ♥️

@Queen Jinx comments like yours are super annoying. I don't want to lift extremly heavy. I just want my body to look and be the best it can and in comparison to Krissy it's exactly what she delivers!

@Queen Jinx lol okay??? Good for you seriously I but be honest with yourself you probably started from a low weight number before you got there, right? Lol you gain nothing from bashing other women when we’re all on our own separate fitness journeys. Keep on lifting but keep that ugly attitude to yourself ✌️

@Queen Jinx Why should the gender of your coach be important for your 1 RM? There are a lot of good powerlifting coaches, who are women. And maybe 90 kg feel like a joke to you, but for most people this is something they have to work hard to geht there. Strong people don’t get stronger, when they try to put others down.

@Queen Jinx then why are you watching her video? And I'm sure there are women stronger than you too, so don't brag
