      Most jungle guides are too complicated for people who want to go to diamond or platinum. I think the most important thing is focusing on the minimap and looking for low health enemies and where the lane is pushing. Other things like clear speed seem counterproductive to me.

    Man, it seems like slow pushes are more subtle than a lot of people say. Some say +1 minion count, some say clear all the casters, in this case Hans does it with just one AA (and zoning). Even if it comes down to minion health balance in the end, there seems to be so many ways to measure the speed of a push.
    That Caitlyn crash scenario was interesting though, especially how the defending Pyke and Ezreal managed to set up the engagement in their favour, and avoid the minions aggroing them when defending the tower plates during the crash. I don't think many guides cover what to do when someone's slow crashing onto you which made this guide unique.

    • @laggrenade863

      A minion wave is like a marble on a hill. Just a tiny push will lead to it slowly picking up speed, accelerating faster and faster until it crashes

    • @Kamishi845
      @Kamishi845 2 роки тому +6

      It really depends on the matchup. Ezreal has very poor wave control so it's very easy for Caitlyn to create a slow push into him with just one auto especially if it's empowered, but vs someone like Xayah or Sivir who have incredible wave clear early on, it requires a lot more effort to gain a push advantage.

      As far as wave managment the simple guide is to just try to stack waves and crash them so that u can get a good recall or rotate/roam. Everything u do should help towards achieveing that. Also if ur enemy fails in doing the same thing try to freeze and stay healthy. If ur not sure how to do it experiment and see what works best for what matchup.

      I disagree that this is a "trap". Anyone who has cared to enough to do any ammount of research on Caitlyn as a champion knows that she excels at the early game due to her range, and at the late game due to her build path. To be honest, to win and climb with safe and passive picks , i think one should be extremely good at the game and way above his elo. Like diamond smurfing in gold. Unless you are ready to play 800 games per season and climb slowly-slowly with 50%wr.
    But it's just from my personal experience. You either take strong pick to win lane and snowball or risk that your 7/1/3 most fed member calling ff because his team doesn't carry and 101 other different reasons why relying on your team is not a good way to climb soloq

    • @shacolin6546
      @shacolin6546 2 роки тому +3

      Naaah. Scaling picks are much easier than early game picks. Stalemates and neutral outcomes always favor the scaling team. Its not enough for the winning team to secure herald if the losing team can take dragon without contestation. Or a turret for another.
      Even if you get out of lane with a 30 cs deficit you're still probably in a better position to win. Without baron its very easy to stall the game forever and even if the enemy team gets baron, its not guaranteed the enemy team will make use of it.
      If you're a ranged champion with waveclear, waves will come to you and, as long as you don't overextend, enemies rarely will have the coordination to dive you. If you're a melee carry, even if you're behind, you can still split push and, again, work around the enemy team's lack of coordination. If they send the wrong person to stop you, even while behind you might still beat them. If they send a person that can kill you, you can play safe and keep them in the side lane, which means one less strong member on the enemy team to get something elsewhere. If they send more than one person to you, then its your team that has a numbers advantage and even if you die, they still need to coordinate a call for an objective to do afterwards.
      The scaling pick needs to worry about farming up and not dying. The early game needs to do that as well, but also to make sure they kill their opponent and stop them from farming.

    I dont agree, when most of the lanes are losing, stay safe and farm is not an option. A 300cs jinx wont ever beat a 5/0 zed ever. You have to risk and carry the game. This advice of you might be good for bad people in low elo, who clearly always have to stay away from risky picks.

    • @zeroapproval
      @zeroapproval 2 роки тому +4

      It's all about real-time assessment of the circumstance and situation. Even though we are shown we can do a cheater recall, that decision can easily be changed by noticing other factors such as the champs being played, vision/awareness, win condition, tracking, mechanics, knowledge and simple comparison of risk vs reward to rather harass the other bot under tower as the better play than doing a cheater recall. Hans being Challenger would have went through the same scenario over thousands of times and games, and as a pro, he would've no less tried to asset most of what there is to think about instinctively at the moment or beforehand towards making that decision as would any other challengers of that calibre do.
      Most guides teach cheater recall as a means to gain an advantage without risks. It is typically a good play, but there are some play such as what Hans did which gives a much better advantage but would come with a risk. The risk could be getting ganked, or simply he misplayed a mechanic or decision in the execution, but as a pro and challenger Hans would have known when to do it from what would we expect him assesting the situation (knowing he would not get ganked for doing it) and is confident to properly execute it making it look easy.

    Im a little confused. I watched one of you mid lane focused videos recently on your site (can't remember for the life of me which one) and you talked about how you shouldn't care to give up one or two cs in order to auto the opponent and trade with them with abilities too. (Because one or two cs doesn't matter in the long run). In this one you say that it is a mistake to be losing so much CS in order to harass?

      Depends on matchup also, there are some champions whose job isn't to farm but get an XP lead. For example most Jayce players will happily lose the first 3 cs to zone you and get an xp advantage over you. There needs to be a balance because the entire point of "bullying" someone out of lane is that even without killing them you have a sizeable cs lead, if you don't have that cs lead you will get outscaled or you will have a much harder time in converting a lead.

    • @zeroapproval

      League can be generalised as a game of mistakes, a game of risk, and also a game of advantage and disadvantages. Every decision you make in game will have a risk, possible mistake or advantage/disadvantage tied to it. The ultimate goal is to know so much about the fundamentals of the game, the champions, mechanics and everything else like shown in these guides; that when you play, you strive to make the most optimal choices that guarantee to give you an advantage and putting your enemy at a disadvantage, but of course those choices will come with risks. That could be anything from getting ganked when trying to push, or making a mechanical misplay when executing a combo etc. It will be upto your opponents to take advantage of your mistakes and also for you to do the same on recognising and taking advantage of their mistake as well.
      Guides like this offer new insight on how to assest and play on the situation, and sometimes interesting or helpful ways to reduce mistakes such as improving awareness or macro so you don't do terrible mistakes etc.
      The guide can also help with showing and identifying certian win condition for some champions or for the matter conditions to gain incremental advantages that ends up being a win condition of itself if it helps completely shutting down your opponent ability to play.
      You can decide to make a risky play to take down an enemy but you will have to face the possible risk of making mistakes and end up dying for what ever reason, but if you knew ahead of time before making the play that you can pull it off, you have the damage, you won't get countered, the enemy cannot react or defend against it, those are thoughts and knowledge that help mitigated your possible mistakes to turn it into a guaranteed advantage and only by learning from experience or seeing it from guides like this can you know if it will work or not.

    8:43 how tf are botlane lv 1 on min 2.39 with wave 3 on lane?

    • @zeroapproval
      @zeroapproval 2 роки тому

      The shortest answer is because enemy bot could not walk up in minion xp range as they die.
      This is a result of Caitlyn taking advantage of her range and both her and Thresh playing aggressively, and finally Ezreals choice to respect and keep distance to avoid free autos.

    Draven tip is just false. Draven can last hit the wave and thin the back line bait a naut q and run down jhin with 2 axes. There is absolutely no parallel between hitting Cs and 'taking control of the wave'. Level 1 draven will just out dps a level 2 jhin. If I'm playing jhin I want you to push me in so I can farm under tower. If I were that draven I'd be looking for perfect last hits, and open opportunity to trade with the jhin as he tries to farm. Similarly that's why Hans doesn't want to hard shove the wave, its not about knowing what you can and cannot do, its about the fact that Draven can smash your face in with a slow push, or run you down, but nothing in between unless you can tank minions while fighting.
    I would like to see Skillcapped focus more on the nuances of the matchups and not just think around waves.

    • @Reddotzebra
      @Reddotzebra 2 роки тому

      Pretty sure they keep that info under lock and key behind a paywall, since they basically refer to matchups either in the nebulous "I know that this champion has a stronger lvl1 than this other champion because I'm challenger, and you should just learn such things too" kind of way, or make nebulous statements that hints at there having been a list you were supposed to memorize somewhere.
      Basics are important though, but I don't think the wonderful "there is no such thing as counterpicks in low ELO" mantra applies when you don't know the enemy's kit in detail.
