      i feel like some of this might be because of jungle gank fear. is it possible for you to make a video that teaches people how to recognize their enemy jungles start and pathing? there are tons of videos about junglers, adc's, supports, mids, tops, but i don't think i've ever seen a video where a specific lane is spoken about in the specific way of handling jungle pressure/predicting those routes as a laner.

    I probably do the equivalent of this in jungle - but let me reiterate a coach here: If you want to improve start by being overly aggressive, then tone it down. You will never know how far is too far if you don't move a single step!

      While I agree with that point of view, it's not the only true. It's just a one style of play of multiple viables. Limit test playstyle is most important on toplane carries I'd say. Depending on your role and more importantly - a champ - you can definetly successfully climb playing like a complete pussy, at least in lane. With all the respect to Tyler, he is a pretty good example of how being a complete subbimisive beta cuck in lane can still you carry far enough with great macro and being a really smart about other parts of the game outside of the lanning if you play utility/tanky/good wave clear roaming champs.

    The thought process McBase was asking about is actually quite easy to understand - any low elo player lacks a proper understanding of nearly every aspect of the game. And the lower that understanding is, the more scared the players are. The most of them are focusing on how not to die way harder than on how to kill and snowball. And I'm talking from experience.

      When I was new I would play safe but after a while I started played WAY TOO AGGRESSIVE and ran it down lol. Even though I died many times to laner & ganks, I actually learned a lot from trial and error. Then I'd watch streamers/videos to see how they played the lane compared to me and managed to pick up a few pointers.

      A big part of it is simply not knowing what all the champions do. Example. Akali. I do not know everything she does. I know she has the smoke ring thing, the triple dash thing, and a ranged throw thing. But I don't know the matchups. It's trial and error of the few matches I've had against her in my lane. I see her in games. But I don't lane against her enough to not be worried. On the other hand I play top and I see Garen a lot. I know how he plays and how to punish him. I'm way more likely to go all in on my normal top matchups I see a lot.

    Speaking from the position of a newer player, I have a hard time with random engages like this because I don't really have the confidence of what my damage output is and what they can do to counter it. I can't tell you how many times someone has put themselves into a bad position, I go all in to punish it and it feels like I'm swinging a pool noodle at them while they burn me to the ground. I just can't be comfortable burning all my CDs or even just running someone down unless they're already around half health and even that's a sketchy prospect. Sometimes I'll burn down a volibear with a combo and wipe him. Other times he'll be half health and tank the same combo like it was a couple light attacks. I don't get it.

    • @Kirivon
      @Kirivon 2 роки тому +3

      This is the problem with the advice "just learn to CS and you'll climb." A lot of coaching used to tell players that if they just get good at last hitting, they will easily climb out of silver and gold. Yeah, maybe that was the case in season 5, but we're going into season 12. Even iron/bronze players can manage 7cs+ a minute these days if they're not being pressured.
      I run into so many players who think they're playing well because they're getting 6-7cs/m and when I tell them they need to play more aggressive they go "no I need to get my wave", "my friend is challenger and he told me this is the right way to play", and "csing is more important than kills." At this point, if you want to hard carry through CS alone you need at minimum double your opponent's farm. Usually that means 10+cs/m.
      What this ends up in is silver players that have been hardstuck for 4+ seasons who average decent cs (around 7cs/m) and a decent kda (e.g. a 2/1/4 statline every game) and think they're playing every game well because they look at the stats after and see they were the op.gg "mvp" and think they're playing great. Meanwhile it's always "team diff" because the enemy top/bot goes 20/5 every game, but they don't realize they could have killed their laner 30 different times during laning phase.

    I win almost every single mid lane in high platinum playing Neeko. 2 things that helped me a lot were knowing my champ (and all the small things about it) well and going very agresive in the lane. Unless the matchup is very bad (anivia/lux/xerath) it is pretty damn easy. The whole diffrent story is converting the lead to winning the game. Sadly a champ like Neeko is not a hyper carry (but the team can use the stunns anyway). I belive if i played more than a few games weekly I would reach diamond without too much effort and a lot of it is thanks to Skil Capped vids. Thanks for that.

    • @lunacy5510
      @lunacy5510 2 роки тому

      Neeko is the worst midlaner in the game. The fact that you are beating the shit out of people just proves once again how bad low elo players are but more importantly and sadly - how delusional they are because the majority of whinning and complaining about the game and op champs comes from the people that are that bad. Not only they complain about the stuff they can't even comprehend but they also make the op stuff look weak in their hands as well as make shit tier stuff (your Neeko) look strong :D. Like ofc there are exceptions and people who are pretty acknowleable about the game despite being low elo but the moral is that if you are silver/gold most likely than not you should stfu complaining about stuff like balancing and your team and perma chatting and focus on your own gameplay and trying to use brain when playing and instead of making another generic pointless thread in reddit perhaps watching your own replays every once in a while.

      @@lunacy5510 Would not call Neeko the worst midlaner or a shit one (she has some super easy matchups). She is just medium and out of meta, due to her crappy range and the need to dive into the fight to cast a proper ult (which makes her die super easy). The damage output and the cc is quite nice tho. I play her because I love the mindgames you can make with shapeshifting and clones and I am never tired of that champ. There are games against some bad players that lose the lane 0-3 or 0-4 but they play champs like voictor/kassadin and 10 minutes later they outscale Neeko like crazy, so unless your team deos something it is usually over. My opinion is that the game needs to provide fun. I play the champ because its fun to me and honestly if I had to play something like kassadin I would probably leave League long time ago. Still as said before if I had more time to play diamond with Neeko would be really easy. And yeah the enemy is usually like "I will fuck that Neeko up" and than on lvl 3 when he is dead already he writes "broken champ" or something when I can constantly catch him with my E through creeps and deal insane dmg.

    • @lunacy5510

      @@zagloba1987 Her range is a big reason why she is indeed bad. She auto loses to mages and adcs (Tristana, Lucian, Akshan, etc.) cause of that and can't bully melees aren't npcs and play around her root and bait it or make her not using it at all. Then she gets outscaled to oblivion without even properly bullying before. Her W is not an ability (I know all the things she can do with it, I used to play her) and her and there is a big dissonance between her abilities and especially ult. There is nothing wrong playing weak champs and neither meta is that important (at least for the majority of the playerbase) if anything take it as compliment that you make a bad champion work. My point was about bad players focusing on everything else (like meta, game balance issues, teammates and calling your Neeko "broken" showing how clueless about the game and matchup they are) instead of their own gameplay since everyone knows that you can climb with anything in league and rather quite easily if you are just good at learning,. There are bad and good champs in league but not none champ is THAT bad. But that doesn't change a fact than playing something like Neeko is essentially being in a uphill battle from the start if the players are equally skilled. What's worse is that like you said if you are against something like Yone, Yasuo, Kassadin, Viktor, etc. they a lot of the time can still just int their way to victory cause of their champions stat checking you later even if their noticeably worse players if you and your team don't manage to close the game fast enough and since there is big difference in what can fed Yone and what can fed Neeko do it's much harder to 1v9 game as Neeko when your team not doing the right decisions and giving the enemy team to scale and comeback for free. That ofc doesn't mean that it's unwinnable or very bad matchup since none if this matter if you are just a much better player and Yone, etc. player just does mistake after mistake. Fun is the driving factor in players actually being good at the game and their champion, that's true.

    I looked at my replays today. I haven't seen mistakes quite as egregious as this, but smaller ones of the same kind. It really is everyone. As for why this happens, my two cents are people are scared of feeding and losing lane, so they "play safe", unaware that they are throwing away advantage that would lead to them being able to 1v2 even with a jungler gank.
    Concepts like lane priority and slow push are arcane to people in those brackets. I think general lack of knowledge, be it matchup or generic causes this. The more i binge guides and actually understand what i'm doing with wave management and timings the less scared i play. I am usually very guilty of playing like this TF.

    This concept works for supports too. I often make my adc hard push the first 3 waves so we have level advantage and crash the wave. We can then cheater recall or play the long con. I miss my poke, pretend to be scare, enemy blit/thresh/leona/nautilus walk up thinking it would be an easy hook, not even knowing they are dying to our minions. Even if they land their engage, I press my win fight button which was Ignite or Exhaust, then make them regret their decision playing this piss pit of a game.

    The Ahri i remember got more away with it because i was trolling a bit, playing Vex with no knowledge on her kit and just winging it. (It was a normal with friends). But the TF game where i was ahri i got VERY far ahead due to his aggression and i just...Sat back and charmed him into my tower.

      But you'll hear loads of low ELO players whining about teammates and bad luck, while completely ignorant about how just uninformed they themselves are about the game. They are so ignorant that they don't even know how badly they are playing, which is why Mcbaze uses these (random) samples to show you.
      I can guarantee you, if he was able to find those players in this video and ask them to explain themselves, not one of them would have even seen what he saw. That's why they played so terribly.

      The best way to gain Matchup knowledge is learning how a high elo main plays the matchup. Try to find a YT or Twitch content creator that mains your champ and look how the play: if they have lvl 1 pressure or not, when they can fight when they can't, what enemy abilities they need to dodge/bait, what abilities they need to fight, when to play safe and dont fight. Then you try to apply to your games.

    A lot of times you are suggesting to poke/punish the enemy when they are at their “weak” stage (Ranged into melee match up at level 1 for example). May I ask what the optimal number of enemy minions should be before you start this strategy? I.e should you start this process as soon as the minions connect, or should you not be clearing a few of them first so you don’t lose early trades to enemy minion damage? For example when the vlad used his q immediately in your clip at level 1, if Sylas engaged with his E, into Vlads whole wave, would he have won that trade?

      and if you first push the minions before going,that gives the enemy time to farm and even poke you too,when you want to be harassing and zoning them from cs as much as you can

      @@xZ1gZagx I think the major lesson here is to acutally put thought behind every matchup and what's going on. If don't even think about what you could do and if x is worth it then you don't learn. Outside of CSing in the line what are you really doing? Just staring at minons beat each other slowly? If your entire brain process is just thinking about how to last hit, then you don't have room to constantly think about ways to win the lane or do anything else. It's like how junglers just AFK mind the jungle and just beat down NPCs without thinking of pathing, best lane to gank and adjustiung routes constantly or supports who just think they have to stand behind the ADC and heal them and throw out abilities randomly.

When i go up against fellow assasins i have to tone it down a bit because i know i can die just as easily as i can kill. I had this mindset all the way to my promos for diamond. Once you get to this elo area 80% of the people playing know how to play their champions, and yes that includes mages as well. I was stuck in my promos area for a month until i changed that mindset i started to treat every matchup with respect and stopped expecting easy lanes when i saw a lux or a ziggs. They arent "trolling" if either of them were trolling they would KNOW they can get the kills or damage and they'd be fucking around not playing the game as it should be played. The problem is THEY DONT KNOW, they're still playing as best as they think they can. It's not trolling. Stop using words where they dont make sense. If someone gets shit housed in their lane because they're bad and players say shit like "they're trolling, they're inting." no, they could just be bad, out classed, out skilled by their opponent, create a large enough skill-gap and it'll happen even to a high elo player. Inting means they are intentionally feeding... INTENTIONALLY is the keyword there, trolling means they're fucking around clowning.
    Bad feeding teammates aren't either of those things without intention, and the only way you can prove that is if you see high-level play coming from them, and then it stops suddenly.
