I love seeing these long videos drop. I know its time to grab a cup of coffee and a snack or two. We're about to see some knife hunting pro footage. You never disappoint us Doc. It's always a interesting time and a thrill of the hunt.... Thanks again Brother! 😊
I live in Dothan, which is not far from this flea market. I will have to go and give it a go on finding some knives. My grandfather was a huge knife collector, and I want to follow that tradition. I wouldn’t mind contacting you and sharing what my grandfather left me to get your thoughts.
Yeah boy, this is a good one. Flea markets, pawn shops, thrift stores, antique stores, and pocket knives. It doesn't get any better than that. I like those marrttiini knives and fish knives too. Love the knife book hunts and old tool hunts too. And yes I love the sounds of the country, I live in eastern KY and I love it here. Great video Kevin.
Thank You Doc. For letting me come along.I can get out much any more, and I use to love going to Pawn Shops and Flea Markets. I think you got some very good deals on your purchases. I love you channel and look forward to every video.
Kevin the backstory on Coast Cutlery is interesting. The company was started in 1919 and currently employs 50 people in Portland and another 75 or so selling to wholesalers. I am fortunate to have grown up in Portland and we have a good group of knife companies along with a bunch of custom knife makers. Really enjoy your videos.
Kevin, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that Buck 639! I carried one on my webgear (LBE) back when I was in the Army in the 80's and 90's. It was a great knife and I've been trying to find one. My original one was broken after 20 years of hard service. Great video and those are some sweet knives you got there!!
@@theknifedoctor It was the best Buck knife I've ever had. Ouch! $100, yep that's been the biggest problem I've had with getting another one. Every one wants over $100 for it. LOL just my luck 😂
Nice Video. Brings back memories. My first job was working for my grandfather's pawnshop in Charlotte NC in 1978 stocking the knife counter. Have a super day Bud!
I began my day with the first half of the video. I had Church and band practice….just sat down to relax and finished the last half great video. I really enjoyed the journey. This was a fun watch.😊 Thank you Kevin.
Awesome knife hunting that Swiss army knife is cool and that drawer thing will be great for knife parts thanks for sharing I always look forward to your videos
You’re in my stomping grounds now! I’ve just recently subscribed to your channel and gotten the things I need to work on knives. I was planning on hitting Sadie’s soon. Thanks for taking us along and keep up the good work.
I came across your videos on finding knives on your car trip to visit your son in Florida yesterday and I've watched several now I've enjoyed them so thanks for making them
Dear Kevin, Love your videos, nice knives, nice savings! The knife from Solingen is a prune knife - and it is indeed a nice piece of work. I have a few of those, and some of those still need my attention. Greetings from the fellow knife-saver from Germany!
We had some good weather in Ohio a couple weeks ago and I ended up going to the flea market. I was shocked that at 11AM and even 12 some dealers were just starting to set up outside. Really shocked me as they normally are all closing down around 1PM during the summer. At some flea markets during the winter I guess they wait until it warms up before setting up.
Surprised 😯 I didn’t see any old timers on here I had one as a kid miss it 😪 lost it almost 30 years ago got it from a older gentleman at his garage sale truly a great knife!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Found your videos today, already three or four deep on the long videos. Been collecting for a few years, can't get enough. "Hey you got any knives, pocket knives?" Keep it up
That Bear and Son Boy scout knife was beautiful. I try to watch all your video's and I have to say all the knives you buy would cost 5 to 10 times as much in the north.
I collect them Great Easterns that you saw thats really high, I won’t pay that much either but I sure will sell them for that. Great video, we got a flea market that starts before daylight and another that starts @ 9.
Thats my favorite activity browsing pawnbrokers for knives, Found an old buck knife once encrusted in dirt and was unable to open it, got it back to a new one.I never tell them the brand names, and just pretend I am buying them for fun.
20 years ago i found an old small picklock Italian Stiletto made by Venecia.....real black horn handle, had a few cracks in it, and a broken leaf spring....i bought it, and used a spring from an old broken switchblade Comb to fix it...fires hard, people drop it😅
I collect knives...I've got well over a hundred knives. Bottle openers with beer brands is another thing I collect. I need Coors , and a few more there's. If you would be interested in coming off a few .
I enjoy these trips. I was just at one of our indoor flea markets. One cabinet was filled with those pakistan damascus knifes asking double online price. Someone just posted a stress test on one of them, the results are predictably hilarious
What was wrong with those bowies, by the swastica? The boot knife with the silver pommel looked like a old Eastwing, Or is that a filet knife? Liking the channel thanks for sharing your hunts. What he want for the old Gulf sign?
Hey next time you're there see what kind deAl get me on rebel knuckles and rebel above it. I got good bit of them kind . Got that same two set to straight and folder auto. Box tin .
I couldn’t find much on that vintage switch blade knife but I did find one that was a single blade with single button looked very similar to that one and it sold for $450.
I had found you a bunch of knives that you would love working on but my goodness my flea market they wanted 60 for broken knives and just slowly walk away I understand some people want to make money but they forget that it’s a flea market sometimes
Hey if you like old bush craft books look out for Survival With Style, Bradford Angier was my “bible “ for outdoor in the Pacific Northwest mountains when i was a kid I still have it .
Hard to find stuff that’s usable condition that’s made in USA! We use to make everything you need! Not anymore! We really need to steep it up as a country! I’m glad we are using old stuff and keeping Americana alive!
I dont know if this is the 1st time you have been to Sadie's, but as someone that grew up in that area, it is dead now compared to what it was 10-20 years ago.
Would anyone here have some good information on Imperial Knives? I think I found a somewhat unusual one. It looks like the usual black camp knife style with a gouge, spearpoint blade, and screwdriver/cap-lifter. However the fourth tool isn't your usual can opener, but rather a glass cutter.
Hi from Finland, I have so many j. Marttiini knifes also known as puuko. They are the best
Awesome!!

Morning back to ya.
I always wanted to sell or shop at Sadies back in the '90's when I was selling at Gulf Breeze. Doesn't look very interesting these days.
That one guy had a good selection, but his prices were too high. Good find on the Scout knife by Bear and sons.
I like tourquoise inlaid knives but it’s really hard to find a USA blade in them! Usually POW Wow’s Indian craft shows have great stuff!
