    I think Canada will try their best, but Uruguay is a pretty strong team. If Nunez gets his consistency back, and suarez is playing, then Uruguay will beat Canada.

    Canada has been great at creating quality chances. If they can figure out how to finish they very much do stand a chance in this match. If Uruguay comes into it caring at all about winning 3rd place it should be a good game.

    The Canadian team is exhausted. With an inexperienced bench it's impossible to rotate enough players throughout the tournament to give the 11 a break. They really missed Buchanan. As a comparison, Argentina was sitting out players for entire games replacing them with strength and experience. Canada won't be able to compete against Uruguay who also has experience coming off the bench. Canada will lose but it won't be their fault. Canadian kids head for hockey.

    IF (that's a BIG IF) Canada beat Uruguay that would represent a yuge leap forward for this country's soccer development. Sadly, it ain't gonna happen. 4th place is a good spot for the CMNFT. Uruguay is a little less skilled that Argentina, as is Colombia. Maybe in four years we can medal in the event. For now, enjoy the game, and Argentina will be victorious.

    • @GRMDGRM
      @GRMDGRM 22 дні тому

      It seems to me that you look at football with your back turned, as if I were giving my opinion about the NBA. If Canada has a chance to win a medal it is now, Uruguay will surely go with an alternate team, and also Canada was on the easier side of the group bracket, with the weakest Chile and Peru that I have seen since 2010. Argentina just went to have a test in the final, and for me Colombia has much more intensity.

    I’m guessing like most Canadians, I’m done with the landed fish flopping from the fakers. Time to impose our culture in our stands and home games including CPL, MLS and national teams. Let our players know that we don’t approve of the fish flopping antics of the visitors. The crowd needs to chant “suck it up Buttercup”. Our players will know we want them to keep playing and not kick the ball out. Force the ref to blow the whistle and on the following drop ball, contest it. If the visitors kick the ball out, don’t give it back to them, treat like any throw-in. If a player is truly injured they never flip, flop and roll. In our sports, we suck it up and play on and get angry at coach if they pull us off. Let the visitors learn that when in Rome, do as Romans. We need to let all opponents know we don’t buy the fish flopping and they need to “suck it up” cause we aren’t going to pander to their nonsense.
    Let’s start hearing “ suck it up buttercup” coming from our stands. This is our unique Canadian contribution to the global game. Our cultural stamp.
