I don't care if the paint doesn't match . Project X is just Bitchin. When I worked on building the L.A. Metro Rail system. Part of it was in Rancho Dominguez. And on lunch break we would walk over to the plant that made American Racing wheels. 6=8.
I first saw Project X in Middle School when the library actually had old Popular Hot Rod magazines. Then I couldn't believe it when I saw it on HBO in Hollywood Knights. Finally I got to see it in person in NC at the Hot Rod Power Tour. It was like Mecca !
I don't care what form Project X is in as long as it smells of high test and is rumbling. Rolling history project for gearheads. Lucky, thanks for helping to keep that alive.
I’m 78 and I’ve been following Project X since the very beginning. Back then I had 57’ 150 with a 283/283 that I raced. I was hoping to drive down the coast from Port Hueneme to see it for the first time ever. But was unable to make it, what a bummer. When and where is the next time I might be able to see it?
Project X is as old as I am, but in better shape. Sounds awesome, but I prefer it with Cragar SS rims and a hood. Love the Big Block. So glad Hot Rod Garage got rid of the ev crap.
I would love to know exactly what remains from the factory when Project X left it in 1957. Just the version from Hollywood Knights alone is radically different from today
It would make a good video, or even a TV show, to show how the car developed over the years. I hope enough historical pictures and movies exist to make it possible. ✌️
Okay so I've followed this 57 from the get go I believe back in the late 60's. So where is the hood? I'd rather see it with a hood on. Or is the induction system too tall?
Project X is not now , nor has it ever been a Belair . It was built as a 210 series back in 1957 , and was still a 210 when George Elliot bought it off of a used car lot in 1965 . The rear fender inserts on a 57 never had bowties stamped in them , the dash on a 55 Belair had the bowties .
Yellow is a bad color to do touch ups on and get it to match .I wonder how many paint jobs Project X has had over the years . I first became aware of this car from my old 1967 Popular Hot Rodding, Engine Annual magazine. I also have a 1978 Popular Hot Rodding mag, in which there is Project X article , about taking it drag racing, and it had a mishap , which was a differential to leaf spring locator pin broke under load.
@@luckysgarageshowOk bear with me, but I was rewatching, for the 100th time the movie Hollywood Knights. Is project X a tribute car to the one that Tony Danza had in the movie?
Thank you for taking care of this car it's an icon. I still haven't gotten over those imbeciles turning it into project woke a few years ago but what do you want to do LOL
I don’t think X is a Bel Air it’s a 210. The Bel Air Stuff was added. I’ve been following X since the 70”s when I copied the pinstriping on my high school 57.
Ok, you see that right there? THAT'S HOW YOU DO PROJECT X! Not that electric motor bullshit. You stuff a big,gas guzzling, snowflake melting big block under the hood that is so mean it can rip the tread off the tires, and you roll through the suburbs, making all the Karen's cry.😆😆😆😆
I would love to see a hood put back on!! A 57 just looks unfinished without a hood!!
Not when it had the blower coming out of the engine bay.
put the cragars back on it, the cragars made the car bitchin

Can't believe this was electric for a while.
Underside of Project X is cleaner than the top side of my car.
GO LUCKY GO!

You all need to bring Project X to the TriFive Nationals! Every August in Bowling Green, KY.
Project X , too cool , great work Lucky
I'm glad to see Project X is back to being a gasoline powered hotrod. I remember that electrification fiasco.
Me too! 👊🏻🏁
Looks amazing! I do however, still think it should have it's "Hollywood Knights" blower.
I recall opening the popular hot rodding magazine that came thru the mail slot where they pulled project X out of the apple orchard.
Exhaust out the back, please.
That color mismatch has always caught my eye also. Great updates on the car!
Thanks! 👍

Very clean car, excellent quality work.. Hugh Mc.

Hope you kept an eye on that eye attention grabber; while at Lyon's. Sounds like quite a place to see / visit for impressive looking rides.
Halala Lucky, you hit that green plastic bin with that beautiful car. It's all on camera...busted, dude
The car is looking good 👍👍
That thing looks good!
Dude looks like the happiest person polishing wheels. Lol

Tony Danza drove Project X in the movie Hollywood Knights , awesome car movie
I actually worked in Rancho Dominguez, did some contract work at the Techmer PM plant down there. That was my first introduction to LA traffic 😂😂😂
Someone will still be updating Project X when we’re long gone.
Try that Mother's Instant Detail, that stuff works
She's a beauty ! Keep diggin' Lucky 👍
The main reason I like to wash my car is because of the smells 🤙🍻

I thought it needed wider tires on the front because it didn’t take corners very well

Thanks God, Project X isn’t electric anymore, what a disgrace.
👊🏻
Do wheel well headers do anything to tire pressure or dry the front tires out?
😂, August 17, video dropped today,which is the 23rd..
This video came out a week after the show
Popular hot rodding test car lives on and on and on………..how many decades will it be enjoyed and modified in the future???
👍👍👍
Just saw you on Freiburger’s video about the duct tape drags last year. Will you be going again this year? Love the content!!!
Yes! I will be there along with my Gasratz buddies. Come say hi!!
@@luckysgarageshowOk bear with me, but I was rewatching, for the 100th time the movie Hollywood Knights. Is project X a tribute car to the one that Tony Danza had in the movie?
I thought the pizza cutters were coming off
Hey Lucky just wondering has Project X ever been taken to the tri-five nationals in Bowling Green Kentucky
Glad to see that GM electric motor GONE !
Thank you for taking care of this car it's an icon. I still haven't gotten over those imbeciles turning it into project woke a few years ago but what do you want to do LOL
Wait what happened to the Electric drive That I saw at SEMA a couple years ago .
The only thing out of this whole conversation is lucky I just can't see you playing ping pong
i am so glad they didnt make that car electric
Another great old famous Hot Rod. Totally ruined with the groovy "updates" love,,,Dubs
You should let me try it for a month and I can give you an unbiased review 😅
What wheels are on the back?

Couple days late
Somebody needs more practice color matching
Those wheels are ugly
That poor car has been destroyed. I guess people with money and no clue get that option in life.
Mine eats flex plates like potatoe chips till i shimed up my starter at 1/4"of shims later...
who is now the owner of the 57 Hotrod mag or discovery with motor trend tv
