After the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Caprice, the Ford Motor Company held a near-monopoly on the market for police vehicles in the United States and Canada for over a decade. The conventional rear-wheel drive, V8 power, and body-on-frame construction were considered advantageous for police use. The body-on-frame construction allowed inexpensive repairs after collisions without the need to straighten the chassis. Rear-wheel drive was deemed better for hard maneuvers and more robust than the front-wheel-drive competition for rough driving over curbs and other obstacles in the urban environment.
Although CVPIs were not sold directly to the general public by the manufacturer, they were widely available in North America as used vehicles after being decommissioned. The cars were in demand by taxi companies and others who wanted a safe, durable, and/or inexpensive car, and those who needed a car with a large back seat.
The CVPI came equipped with many heavy-duty parts, such as a revised transmission, and a 186 kW (253 PS; 249 hp) engine. Used versions are normally stripped of any police decals, equipment, police radios, and emergency lights before being sold or auctioned to the public

The marriage of the crown vic and the old truck makes so much sense. I love how quiet it was pulling back into the shop. Get the Ac working and you can drive it anywhere.
It so quiet
Didn't you and Tony build one like that? maybe it was something else swapped on a crown vic?

Picked up a 1970 F100 4x4 last week. Got it running this week. Needs brakes and steering but pretty solid truck. Seems like more Fords are popping up on UA-cam, I love it!
Very nice!
I love how you still respect the build and take it to the next level. Skills come with experience. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I appreciate that!
You're a very charitable gentleman Lucky.
👊🏻🏁
Old Mopar coming along nicely
Thanks for watching
I just saw that! Looks interesting!
I polished the grill on a ‘63 one time.
54 hours of love to clean up the dents, polish the aluminum and make it shine like chrome.
Loved the lines on these trucks, but if I ever CV swap an F series, it’ll be an 80-86 flare side.
I have a 62 f-100 unibody long bed that i have had since I was 16. I'm 49 now. It has a 9" axle, 3.55 posi. 408 stroker, bored .040 over. Holly Sniper, with 4 speed AOD, four wheel disk brakes with dual masters cylinder, brake boster.. Dual exhaust 3" Flowmaster Supper 44 with crossover tube.
I'm guessing you're having a proper bumper at the front, which is cool but I'd love to see a flush bumper panal that curves under, keeping it really smooth, aggressive and making that Grill sing.
Thanks for watching
Effed 100 Lucky... Guess I'll just fire up my 1931 Model A Ford for some heat as you consider my proposal.
I ran a 9c1 caprice drivetrain in my 55 Chevy. Lots of great benefits and only required about 1” off of the driveshaft. 3.42 posi disc rear, beefy transmission, Efi v8.
🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁✅✅✅✅
Crown hick was my favorite HRG build 👍
👊🏻🏁
Loving seeing you on multiple platforms!
Love the shot at (3:15) with the Colonel watching you,, you're never alone when working by yourself,, long day, thanks Lucky,,😅
😂🏁
Get it Lucky!
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
You make it look easy! That's going to be nice. I'd love to have a pick up truck like that, looks cool, and it'll be reliable. I always liked smaller trucks, and do not like lifted trucks. A man should be able to reach into the bed of the truck without a ladder!
Thanks 👍
I think this truck would make an awesome give away on your channel!! 😂😂😂
Nothing is going on here at the moment, except I'm watching your video until I get bored of it. Why do you ask every time?! GEESH! Stop doing that!
I've got a 75' GMC squarebody Dually that was a flatbed long frame (like 165" wheelbase ?) I kinda want to drop it and shorten the frame up but a sleeper and stacks are kinda dumb enough for me to consider but what a hauler, I found some 69' 302 shelf stock heads that I modernized for it, bored it .040 over, big bump stick and of course that granny gear 4 speed... anyway, this one makes me want to get back on it.. but I do like old Fords too... Dodge's too I guess.. Love what you're doin brother
I raised the radiator up on mine. It looks really strange with it sitting behind the bumper. Best thing is it was so easy to move since it's all one unit. Can't wait to see what you guys do to this... 😁
Thanks for sharing
While that body style is not my favorite, I do appreciate the work to pull off the swap. And if you're doing it I am sure it will be outstanding. I wonder how well a 68-72 Ford truck would look on a vic frame.
This is cool i just did a review on my friend's coyoteswap f 100 on my channel last week. F 100 are in demand.
You do such great work, no wonder you stay busy all the time. Great video!😁👍👍
Thank you 😁
The CrownHick is so badass, he had to build one for himself. I see you Luck catching the Ford Bug. Guilt myself, THEYRE JUST FUN
Such a fun project. Thanks for the comment 👊🏻
Love the new project truck!
Thank you!
Lucky totally deserves a '57 Chevy. Gonna have to borrow some hair gel from Tony.
Recycling at its best !
Great work, Lucky … you are the man!😎
Thanks! 😃
This isn’t your first rodeo with a crown Vic F100. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
The suspension and cooling system on those old P71's are bullet proof. Cops in Arizona used to sit in parking lots for hours and let them idle with the A/C running and they never overheat.
Already hooked on this project! Fun thinking about everything you could do with this one! Maybe a Cobra Terminator engine swap...? Sure is fun spending other peoples money! 😆
I’m glad you guys are all continuing on your own, because Discovery has left us all hanging. Not sure why I still have my subscription, holding out hope that new content comes along but my faith is failing by the day.
Thanks for the support!!
That truck is beautiful! ❤
Nice! but now I want KFC after seeing the Colonel on the back wall.
Hello Lucky hope you have a good day.
Thanks for watching
Love your work. Trying to catch up just sold my house and been moving everything to storage. Haven’t found house yet
Welcome back!
Just find a 72-79 Ranchero. It’s the same thing, LTDII & a F100 in one piece. That’s the smart way to do it.
I think Crown Victoria's chassis lack quite a few bracing/triangulation when being utilised for these truck shell swaps. I would love to see you come up with a system that can act as both cab & bed mount, as well as triangulate brace the chassis.
I see there are still air gaps between cab & chassis, so technically they can be lowered still.
Enjoy your videos👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the video. Though not a hotrod I would love to see a Honda Element on a solid frame though I know it’s unibody. In addition an LS transplant would be cool. But hey I can always dream 😮
That would be cool!
The thing that has to be resolved in any swap of a car frame under a pickup is that the construction philosophy is different. Trucks use a true body on frame construction in which nearly all the strength is intended to come from the frame. Body on frame cars since about 1960 have been designed to have a huge part of their strength coming from the body. The whole structure has got to be beefed up in order to be strong enough with a truck body on a car frame.
Let's goooooo.
Mountaineer's Lol
👊🏻🏁
That's one truck I'd like to drive along with the Chevhell. If I was rich, Lucky I'd ship my 58 Chevy truck down from Oregon to you to work your magic on it. But I'm not so it's just gonna be yard art I guess. lol
Right on
Chip Foose style bumper modifications!
No doubt you're nee project will turn out good.
Thanks for watching
lucky you look so good on that video

The imposter crown vic part deux better stronger faster LOL...super cool lucky 💯✌️😆 🙏...P S. You look a bit like the Colonel 🤣
😁
I really would love to find a truck like this and put a modern drivetrain in it.
Just think, the Crown Vic police car in another time might have pulled this truck over. Now they are in a new journey together. The truck is very nice!
Thank you
Call that truck, Colonel Sanders, because you kinda look like the picture of him in your barn
If you can't figure it out, give it your best Gus...... Set
Harbor Vic Flux 100!
Didn't get noticed till now.. thanks UA-cam... you attending shoreline show?

Thank you! Cheers!
See at DTD!
@luckysgarageshow DTD is going to be awesome! Hopefully, Chris is going to cook Taco's! Your always welcome to eat with us.
How about factory wheels that came on mercury marauder look like 5 spoke
10:20 Looking at the front body mount here, my 1965 F250
had a spring with a bold, for flex I presume. Maybe that was on the 4x4's only. (Get into some noticeable frame twists).
👊🏻🏁
If Lucky is on it that will be a bad bitch. lol.
👊🏻🏁
At first, i thought it was the one you and Tony built on hot rod
No, all mine :)
@@luckysgarageshow I knew something was up when I didn't see hockey pucks in between the bed an cab

Crown hick project or something new?
My new personal project
@@luckysgarageshow Awesome!
F1 Vicky
👊🏻🏁
name the truck the Uncle Jesse. Denver Pile had one in Hazzard Co.
🏁🏁
call me an ocd pain in the ass but it seems like the passenger side front corner of the bed is closer to the back of the cab than the driver side, maybe it was the camera angle, maybe it's not an issue for you, maybe i need an eye test, just sayin'...
crown hic 2.0
I'd call it "the clownshit" or "police navidad"
🤣
F1Panther
You have a great tv personality, but really think you need to add some music to your videos because listening to the welder just isn't entertaining , especially if you don't explain what you're doing
👊🏻
So…..colonel sanders first name is lucky……?..hmmm
💯
Who ever started this project is a hack.
There are probably lots of young men that would work for you for nothing. Just for the experience.
Great video guys 👍
Thanks 👍
Very similar to the Crown Hick.
