    This is really amazing, I sailed aboard the Roter Sand about 10 years ago, even tho I have much more experience on land, the experience of sailing was probably where I was the happiest in my life. This program offer so many opportunities and there are so many great jobs inside the Navy. I signed up for the CAF because of this program. I did well in the CFAT and have a degree so the recruiter urged me to take an officer position. I declined because the 1 year contract was too enticing. You mentioned you can apply for officer positions after the NEP, but realistically how difficult would it be to do that?

    @PrairieSailor Awesome video. Within the Naval force is there no Cyber Operator role? Since you pointed out that during the NEP program you get to learn a bit of every job occupation. Is Cyber Operator role included within the Navy through the NCM route?

    • @PrairieSailor

      Yes, Cyber Operator is open to the Navy as an NCM route. However, I do have a question that I'm hoping you can help me with! I plan on applying to join the forces (a bit undecided if it will be regular or NEP, but my current issue is regarding transcripts from previous education. The college that I went to in 2009 does not exist anymore. Around 2012 they closed and transformed into an entirely newly named and funded college. Then in 2018 they ceased their college entirely and the "business" closed. No other college took over. There is currently no contact information for the original college I went to, OR the one that took over from them and closed in 2018, so I have no ability to obtain my transcripts from my successful time in 2009 in college. What would I do in that situation for the documents section?

      @unnamed6629 9 місяців тому +2

      A lot of trades have modulized courses. Even though the navy does have a lot of longer trades courses/training periods you can split it up into 2-3 week segments. After getting trades training your next step is doing ur OJP packages. You can do it slowly in 1 month increments but you wouldn’t get a hell of a lot done. Typically speaking people take 6mon-1 year contracts to work on their the package and it depends how motivated you are. Some people are able to in some trades with less difficult packages within just a couple months. But it really depends on how much opportunities you’re given. EX, a lot of west coast people get posted to the Brandon and do fuck all for their entire contract because it doesn’t sail. East coast reservists right now seem to get a better shot at sailing but still it can be hard to fight for the sailing time. If you’re really unlucky it can take you years to finish that package

      Good reply here from unnamed, most occupations divide training into modules. Courses can range greatly from 2 weeks - 3 months in length. I would talk to a recruiter more specifically about what occupations you are interested in, some require less training than others.

    Good day, sir. I just want to know the process for military police reserved and how long it will take you to be able to apply for full-time. Do you need to finish certain trainings or years as a reservist? Is the class A reservist gets benefits? I know some on medical, but how about on Dental? Thank you

    • @PrairieSailor

      Class A Reservists get dental benefits, 90% coverage on routine care up to a certain amount. Benefits are not quite as good as full-time, but amazing for a part-time job. Details here: www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/services/canada-reserve-force/information-reservists/reserve-force-benefits.html

      You can apply to switch to full time at any point. There is a big difference if you complete training first and make it to OFP, operational functional point, but you can do it either way. If you are not OFP you may have to repeat some training.

      You are saying sir, as long I finished my training for military police as a reservist, for example 6 months as a reservist. I am fully trained and OFP. I am eligible to apply for full-time at any time. I do not need to wait for opening spot it’s always available to switch as long you are qualified?Thank you

    i wish the navy wasnt so woke these days. it seems to focus on the wrong things and less about our great tradition and more about rainbow flags
