I'm totally digging this video review. I must say, everything you said and reviewed upon is accurate and on spot. I love my 2002 Escalade AWD as I see you do too. I ride and treasure it everyday. AND I drive it hard and go everywhere including off-roading, camping, fishing, to the zoo, to the stadium, to my kids school, I take it hunting and to church. I use it for grocery shopping, big bos store hardware shopping and have towed bass boats and light to middle sized trailers. I absolutely love it. 220k+ miles and still running strong. I asbolutely dig the AWD and none of my buddies expect it to get in and out of the deep soggy woods. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Not even for the newer ones... But my wife might digress.
I love my 2004 Cadillac Escalade ESV too. 241,000 miles man. I refuse to give up on her - I keep putting $ into repairs, recently hydro booster, steering parts, back axel completely went and got replaced. She’s a beauty though she deserves to be kept alive!
I have an ‘05 Yukon Denali, pretty similar to this & I’m past the 250,000 mile marker. This thing is a tank. It does suck on gas, but it truly is a gem. I love my air ride, when it’s not throwing weird electrical codes 😂
Great review, straight forward great info, and a really nice truck to boot! Little info on that 6.0. The ones that came in the Escalade, Sierra VHO and Silverado SS are known by a few different terms, commonly referred to as the LQ9, VortecMaxx, or Vortec H.O 6000. These 6.0s are different than the LQ4 that could be found in pickups and Suburbans. They have a higher output due to a flattop piston that increases compression compared to the standard dished piston that came on the LQ4. This makes the LQ9 highly desirable. All in all these Escalades (especially with the LQ9) are awesome little trucks, and can certainly get out of their own way!
If you have the captains chairs in the middle row, it’s much easier to get in and out of the 3rd row through the middle. Gotta love the 2nd Gen Escalades. Built to last forever.
Been on the hunt for a good deal on an older generation Escalade for over a year. Finally got an opportunity for an ‘02 with 160k miles, brand new brakes and brake lines, 24” wheels, tires, windshield, upholstery, paint, halo headlights, LED taillights, and Alpine head unit. Gonna run me just over $5k. Couldn’t resist this time, pouncing on it this week. So stoked.
I had mine for sale but no real offers so took it off market. 187k miles with transmission fully rebuilt about 200 miles ago. Had it going for 6.5k since I paid 4.2k for transmission work still under warranty but people just offer with no cash in hand.
I just bought a 2006 ESV with the Vortex max! It has plenty of power and just rides like a dream. I plan on driving this thing until the wheels fall off! You can tell the quality of how this was built compared to the new crap that's built today.
My buddy had one. Always liked the 2002 escalade. My father had a 1999 Yukon SLT the same time, alot of the same items. Escalade changes it up a little for the 2003/04 years.
Went today to test drive 2004 and 2002 / I did prefer the 2002 better visibility of the road and more comfortable will try tomorrow 2007 ... to decide !!
It’s been my dream suv since I was 6, nice ride and big beast. I liked tahoes but this was always nice, the wood and the style of the grill, those chrome wheels looking nice, bose system and sunroof. Looks like a fun ride, I’d hope to maybe get one one day as a second car, i’d buy this 2nd gen over the newer ones today
I have a hunter green 2002 Escalade and just hit 130k miles. I've had this car since '03...bought it with 18k miles on it. First ten years only drove on weekends while I put miles on my 2004 Corolla (has 235k and still rolling). I stay on top of maintenance and repair/replace before it's needed. Best review on an Escalade I've seen. It was peaceful like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and also very very thorough and informative. I'm considering getting one of these.
That’s pretty sweet! I made this video quite a while ago. Finally got her up to 300k miles. Great vehicle. I’d say the best I’ve owned for reliability.
