Regardless of what anyone says about Toyotas, Lexus or whatever 20 year old luxury SUV. No SUV has had the reputation this Escalade has. Every rapper, football/basketball player or famous celebrity had this SUV. It was featured in probably every rap video in those days. It's on its way to being a true American classic.

But why if it aint broke then why fix it. If it is because of "safety" I am gonna flip out for real. You're not wrong. No one else does SUV's better than America, particularly GM (the best were made between 1995 - 2010, when the seats were super comfortable. The GMT-400 and GMT-800 based SUV's are also extremely reliable in addition to being comfortable.

These Escalades are superior. I have a 2004 and it still runs like the first day I got it. It’s my daily driver. I drive it to work, to the mall, grocery shopping, to the movies, to the bar you name it we been there. Never had issues with my engine or my Air conditioner. I think I might have added freon once? The only maintenance issue I had over 6 years ago was a bad fuel pump, other than that I couldn’t be happier! I love it so much I recently repainted it and put 24” rims on it and a brand new sound system, nothing too crazy I don’t want it to get stolen. I love my baby. It’s the longest driven car I ever owned 😊

You basically listed all the reasons I love my '08 Chevy Trailblazer. I could easily buy a brand new Lexus or AMG, but the Trailblazer is just what I like! It's super comfy, EVERYTHING works on it, it's quiet, REAL 4x4 with a locker (G80), super smooth, has everything I want without being overloaded with tech everything, and is equally comfortable driving across 3 states as it is popping down to the store for some groceries! I'd love to see an old Trailblazer (with 4x4 and the G80) on some of your offroad tests! I'm pretty sure the chassis is more capable than the front bumper!

Yes it’s the one that was designed after the Chevy Avalanche but it was much better looking and it had all of the same luxuries as demonstrated in this video plus some additional versatility to it. That 6.0 V8 was an absolute gem of an engine as well. You go into one of these expecting fuel economy then you’re obviously not looking for an suv but it definitely shines everywhere else.

I did the exact same thing - bought an 04 Escalade, pearl white from the estate of an old guy who recently passed and the thing is practically brand new! 67k miles! Had it for a couple years now and I love it. Completely reliable. The transmissions aren’t the greatest and that might go on me during my time with it. But for the money I paid, a rebuilt or new transmission isn’t going to bother me a bit. Great trucks if you can see past the old school “bling” factor.

They look sharp on the outside, the interior is unmatched to any other SUV in luxury and comfort and all around this generation Escalade is just great. Sooo... Not sure if yours aren't working or what... but there is for sure bolstering. It's even adjustable. It can literally squeeze you as much as you want it to. . . and remember it, amongst 12 other ways, for 2 drivers... along with mirrors, pedals, courtesy settings, etc. Also, the most desirable ones are 04-06, though all 800's are great. But there are little bits and bobs that get better at those years over the early ones. Better things and more things as well, more amenities. The nav system did become touch screen on the next model, the following year forward would get that one. Annd, worth mentioning... you need to EQ your music to get good sound from the BOSE system, but it can be really really good... even the built in sub. Same with the tahoes and suburbans/yukons, etc... Even just using an android device with software eq, patched into the factory system, you can get some really respectable rumbles out of the thing... as well as really isolating the mids and highs to whatever levels you desire. There are dedicated tweeters, mids, and lows... it's a full component system.
Also also... having the air shocks working is good, but having the actual magride / valve actuated ride control deal working, really makes a big difference. Most are converted to poo poo Monroe shocks up front by now, often out back too.

Re-post from the "over land" video......
Yes these are beasts of a truck. I have a 2008 Escalade EXT which is the pick up or "Avalanche" version and I have owned it since 2012, bought as a certified pre-owned with 30,000 miles. It currently has just over 100K miles. My truck has the 6.2 with 408 stock HP and all wheel drive. I don't take it off road but I do pull a large travel trailer and an even bigger boat. I have a 35+ foot boat with multiple engines that weighs in at over 10,000 pounds, add 2500 pounds trailer included. I love the look of people at the boat ramp at low tide when they see the massive boat I'm about the pull out of a steep wet boat ramp. They say "you aren't pulling that boat out with that truck"! Most boaters think you need a 3500 dually diesel 4X4 to pull anything bigger than a 22 footer. My Escalade pulls the boat out like it's not even there. The key is having the boat set right on the trailer so you have just the right amount of weight on the hitch. The weight of the 6.2 on the front wheels and the "stabilitrack" will do the rest for you. Lightly feather the gas peddle and up she goes.

Just bought a 2005 one owner Escalade a couple months ago ,after I wrecked my 05 Silverado that had almost 300 k on it, never had any problems with the engine except for a water pump and radiator, 6L is hard to beat.
You can spend a little more on gas or spend it on repairs, I’ll go with spending more on gas.
I’m impressed with all the bells and whistles this vehicle had back in ‘05, the rear ac is fantastic.
You failed to mentioned that it comes with a tow package…you can zoom down the highway doing 75 mph with your Rv trailer in complete comfort!

There is a reason Tim Mcgraw drives one. Yes, you heard that right. He has, I think, a 2004 or 2005? It's the second gen for sure and he loves it! I have a 2006 ESV and I drive my kids in it everywhere. I love it so much I just put a new fresh coat of paint on it since the clear coat was fading in certain spots. These trucks were 60K back then and GM made sure everything was quality at the time.

I have leather seats, memory seating, heated seats, I added an Apple CarPlay radio, automatic dual climate zones, and air ride suspension. It only has 75k miles on it now way more luxury features than I could get on a modern car for $10k when I bought it with 58k miles

Great video! I have the 03 Z71 Tahoe. It has almost everything the Escalade has except the 6.0L engine and the 4L90 trans which someday I hope to install ! Ihave great front and rear A/C and have a push button transfer case! Don't know about if the auto seat position on the door worked the stereo since I replaced mine with a Pioneer DVD/CD/NAV in mine. Don't know if the Cadillac has electric radiator fans but the Tahoe didn't till 05. I'm installing those. I have a small lift which is little high than a leveling kit. No air bag! They fail! But I would love to get an Escalade for towing. With 190k miles I expect at least 500k out of it. Nothing newer than 06! Stay away from those AFM engines!

I do enjoy your channel. I do however find it hilarious that you tube has placed Jaguar advert's at the beginning and throughout your videos. As a mechanic the amount of problems the diesel and the electric versions have unbelievable. I don't work on electric cars , someone who does and works at a dealership reliably informs me that learning brain surgery would be easier. As for the 2.0 ingen diesel...I will never be out of work , although if it's more than 7 or 8 years old the rising repair costs are no longer economical to private owners.
Still keep going , great reviews and fantastic scenery 👍👍👍👍

I don't know what GM is doing with their A/C systems but they are some of the best in the automotive industry. Every GM vehicle I have/had has awesome A/C and I live in AZ where it puts them to the test every year, I have had other vehicles that were not GM and the A/C either sucks or just gets you by. My 2004 Suburban has 200k on it and runs strong and the A/C freezes me out during the summer. I did do the E-fan conversion with OEM escalade electric fans and the oem electric fan harness to the ECM and it helps during the summer. I can be sitting in traffic with it being 110 to 115 outside and freeze my but off inside my Suburban, I love it 🥶. I have a 2007 trailblazer that isn't as good as the Suburban but it is still pretty cold and a 2012 impala that in cold as well. I also have a 1996 2500 GMC 7.4L Suburban that slso has great A/C in it as well. I love GM A/C systems. 😁

For a very long period of time General Motors was heavily invested in the Frigidaire corporation.
I guess GM was seriously taking some notes on refrigeration.
As I type this I am in San Diego where the temperature is about 90 degrees but the AC inside my 2006 Silverado Z71 has the temperature at about 70 degrees, and I have the fan on level 2.

    • @tysoncurrie7745

@@Eklectic1 Cool, didn't know that about GM and Frigidaire, makes sense. Sounds like there is something wrong with your A/C system and should be checked. FYI as I live in Arizona the clutch fan at a stop light or in traffic wasn't keeping up with pulling air across the Condenser and is why I upgraded to the OE e-fan conversion and haven't had any issue since, and at 115°f outside it runs between 43°f and 45°f out the vents when stopped and 38°f while driving that is from my 2004 suburban, my other GM vehicls are closer to 60°f because I haven't done much on trying to make them cooler. I am also a mechanic
